The X-8 Night Sniper was a model of blaster pistol manufactured by BlasTech Industries that featured a computerized scope and silent mode operation. The scope featured a thermal vision that can reveal humanoids in most weather conditions like smoke and dioxis, and different times of day.[1] X-8 Night Snipers were used by both the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War.[5]
The bounty hunters Latts Razzi[6] and C-21 Highsinger[3] were known to use such pistols during the Clone Wars.[3][6] During a Mission to Utapau, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker used two X-8 Night Snipers to fight off Sugi arms dealers.[7] During his time as a smuggler, Lando Calrissian also used an X-8 Night Sniper to fight the crime boss Azmorigan and his henchmen on the planet Lothal.[2] He continued to use the X-8 working as a general for the Rebel Alliance and the subsequent New Republic.[8]
