Epikonia was a terrestrial tech-focused planet[3] located in the Ojoster sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was a communications hub that relayed and boosted signals from its sector to other parts of the galaxy.[3]
History
A facility on the planet produced data-discs for droid code updates.[4] These were produced in large numbers and shipped throughout the sector by an automated fleet of TR-286 transports.[4] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[5] the cyborg Lobot was taken to Epikonia by the Scourge after he had been infected during a mission to[3] the planet[6] Tatooine.[3]
The cyborgs Beilert Valance and Magna Tolvan were also taken over by the Scourge and accompanied Lobot to the planet, where the Scourge planned to use the facility to spread it's consciousness further. The inhabitants of the surrounding city were also captured by Scourge-infected droids and experimented upon.[4]
After his arrival on the world, Lobot was tracked to Epikonia by his friend Lando Calrissian, who, along with General Leia Organa, the Wookiee Chewbacca, and the Jedi Luke Skywalker, undertook a mission to the world to rescue Lobot.[3] After the Scourge was defeated, it's influence on the droids, cyborgs and organic inhabitants of the planet ceased.[7]
