Adventure ideas within TFOP
Hi there. I am going to work on Scourge (VSD), but its included in an adventure idea. How should I treat Adventure Ideas? The one it is in suggests that the Far Orbit lures the Scourge into an ambush by the Alliance. Should this ambush be treated as canon, and an article created for it? 501st dogma(talk) 18:44, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
- I've reread the adventure idea, and it conflicts with the Capture of Coh Veshiv, so I'll treat it as non canon. I'll get around to creating the events for the adventure hooks sometime. 501st dogma(talk) 20:47, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

RE: BJ Template
Yeah I am sorry about that one. In all honesty I did not even know I did it until you told me. Also, let me reassure you that under normal circumstances I would not ever, ever considered publishing that edit. All I wanted to do was see what it looked like on a regular page rather than my project page which is full of crap. I was only going to preview it. But when random page brought me to 1026 BBY I saw all of those blank sections so I said, "Hey I'll remove those while I am at it." Unfortunately for me I did not remove my template first. Sorry.
By the way, after consulting Master Jonathan I have decided to kill the project. So, if you will please delete this page that would be awesome. Sorry. Fe Nite (talk) 19:15, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Cav. A user recently asked me a question about nationalities in infoboxes. The conversation can be seen here. Basically, he wanted to know if we should use "English" or "British" in infoboxes. Inq reviewing tutorial
Hey Cav. As per discussion at Inq Meeting 56, I've started to write a draft for what will eventually become the Inquisitorius' tutorial guide for new reviewers. It can be accessed here. I haven't had as much time as I would like to work on it recently, so there are still some sections that have yet to be written, but I've started off with trying out some basic organization with the current sections. Please feel free to jump in, either by writing new stuff for the guide or commenting on/adjusting what's already there.
Every current member of the Inq will eventually have to approve the guide in its entirety, so getting involved with its development would be great, sooner rather than later. The talk page can be used to discuss ideas about organization, sectioning, content, you name it. Let me know if you have any questions, and your contributions are appreciated! Wraith Squadron
- Hey Cav, thanks for reviewing the article, and your patience with it as I work through the objections. One of your objections was on adding the Wraiths' headquarters from Mercy Kill to the infobox and while you struck it, I'm not quite sure it's fully satisfied.
The Wraiths operated out of the following locations in Mercy Kill: The "unsafe house", the abandoned tapcaf, Concussor, that Vandor-3 speeder emporium *(I need to look up the name for this and make a stub for it), Mount Lyss Meteorological Station, and the Kuratooine quarry complex. I'm not exactly sure what goes in the infobox. I'd be inclined to include the abandoned tapcaf, Concussor, the Vandor-3 location, and the rock quarry. Mount Lyss and the unsafe house were transient locations, not what I would consider "headquarters" since they weren't chosen for that purpose. Does that work for you? Atarumaster88 (Talk page) 17:56, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
- Cav, thanks for your swift reply. My reasoning was that the Wraiths chose all four locations (well, Concussor was serendipitous, but I digress), chose to use them as a temporary base for multiple days, and coordinated at least some planning/operational activities using those locations. The only difference I can see between Vandor and Kuaratooine versus Tapcaf and Concussor was that they seemed a bit more long-term in their occupancy, but that line seems subjective. Does that sound reasonable to you? Atarumaster88

X-wing Miniatures Game source template usage (fixed)
Hey, Cavalier. I noticed that you are helping out with sources for FFG-related articles. I wanted to let you know that I fixed the template so that it now accepts the URL, and MiniatureTrading.com now lists the game element images and info, so card image linking is now available without the missing/deadlinked image locations. In development or awaiting distribution are still listed but images not uploaded on MT yet, so they can still be used and the image will renew appropriately when released and entered into the archive to replace the place-holder images—or the FFG site previews can be used until the MT list images are available. The standard format for citing that I have been using is as follows. I use the links from the search engine on MT, select X-Wing game and then search cards by expansion. The card image locations are going to be two clicks away from the cardlist page. Clicking on a card in the list pops up an info box on the card, then click on the image and the popup closes and a new tab opens with the location of the image that would be inserted into the LINK part of the {{FFWXG}} template. Here is the full template usage:
- Place the following code on the page and replace "SET NAME", "URL", and "CARD NAME" with the appropriate information.
{{FFGXW|SET NAME|link=URL|cardname=CARD NAME}}
- Cards displaying both a "pilot" and "ship type" label follow this format using an mdash as the pilot/ship separator:
cardname=PILOT NAME—SHIP TYPE
Example, on Card 02 from the X-Wing Expansion Pack, the pilot is Wedge Antilles and the ship type is X-wing:
{{FFGXW|X-Wing Expansion Pack|link=http://www.miniaturetrading.com/img/miniatures/star-wars-xwin/2189/big/XWING02.jpg|cardname=Wedge Antilles—X-wing}}
This gives:
Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game — X-Wing Expansion Pack Card: Wedge Antilles—X-wing ♦
Thanks for your help! It's a big task linking all of these. —GethralkinHyperwave 14:28, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Interesting. Let me fiddle with this for a bit. I might have an idea... —GethralkinHyperwave 14:38, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I may have figured this out. If using MiniatureTrading.com for linking source images, we have to use the URL of the individual card's information detail page, and not the URL of the actual card image. This is because their image database is not accessable without entering the site proper (I think it's a no-bot thing). Therefore, linking actual solitary images will result in an "Access Forbidden" 403 error page. However, images are visible on the card details pages without Access errors, because the details page—and not the visitor—accesses the image database. I am going to reestart my browser and delete cookies, etc. to see if this works out this way, so cross your fingers. —GethralkinHyperwave 15:01, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
- I was right. It works. Now I need to go back and change URL links in everything, (bleh) but at least they will now lead somewhere. —GethralkinHyperwave 15:05, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Canon
Why do you keep changing the Star Wars Canon page? I have edited the definition of G-canon to reflect what was said by Leeland Chee. —Unsigned comment by DarthJon (talk • contribs)
- Hi Cav. I just wanted to politely say I disagree with your stance on protecting the page Canon. The history shows no sign of edit warring that would justify its protecting, except today with DarthJon, but even then, a warning or block would have solved the issue. If it really is a high-traffic page, perhaps protecting against anons would be best. I hope you give some thought to it. Cheers. Stake black msg 02:51, July 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I also have to disagree with your decision as the canon descriptions does not accurately follow what has been stated by Leeland Chee.
Leeland Chee described it as "The database does indeed have a canon field. Anything in the films and from George Lucas (including unpublished internal notes that we might receive from him or from the film production department) is considered "G" canon. Next we have what we call continuity "C" canon which is pretty much everything else. There is secondary "S" continuity canon which we use for some older published materials and things that may or may not fit just right. But, if it is referenced in something else it becomes "C". Similarly, any "C" canon item that makes it into the films can become "G" canon. Lastly there is non-continuity "N" which we rarely use except in the case of a blatant contradiction or for things that have been cut."
That is a direct quote from the page sourced for G-canon http://blogs.starwars.com/holocron/33

A Request for Another Wiki
Hi! I'm El Alamein, and I'm not from around this Wiki, but I'd like your expertise nonetheless. My Wiki is the Deadliest Fiction Wiki, which creates fights to the death between characters of fiction - and one I plan to host is General Grievous vs. Lord Voldemort of Harry Potter fame. One of the biggest topics of debate concerning this fight is magic vs. lightsabers. Lightsabers have been proven capable of deflecting lasers from blaster rifles and also other lightsabers, so the question is whether or not Grievous could protect himself with his lightsabers from a spell shot from Voldemort's wand. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could shed some light on the mysterious properties that physically make up lightsabers in the Star Wars universe to better assist us in our analysis. Thank you for your time. El Alamein (talk) 20:26, August 2, 2013 (UTC)

Move help
Hey, Cav -- if you have a chance, would you mind moving Urgah Gorneesh to Urgah? I tried to move the page, but I was prevented from doing so, since the Urgah page has a history of its own. I've recently expanded the article, and no source at all refers to her as "Urgah Gorneesh." There's a Kenner toy that calls her "Urgah Lady Gorneesh," but it's the only source to use that name, and there are a half dozen more recent ones that simply use "Urgah." Thanks for your help! ~Savage
08:50, August 19, 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply, Cav. I take your point. However, in this instance, she's never been called "Urgah Gorneesh," just "Urgah Lady Gorneesh." Barring any confirmation one way or the other, it's impossible to tell whether "Lady Gorneesh" should be treated as a title or as a surname. In other words, I'd say that calling her "Urgah Gorneesh" is both inaccurate and OR. What do you think? ~Savage

Ignar Ominizas
Sure thing. I'll fish up the quest dialogue and post it here. He didn't give too long of a quest from what I recall. To answer the timeline question though... it is odd that apparently he died before 0 BBY. Not sure which source that's from, but the events in SWG took place from anywhere from shortly after the Battle of Yavin to shortly before the Battle of Hoth. No real set year. It's basically 0 ABY to 3 ABY. Serji-X Arrogantus was in the game too and he died in 0 ABY. Yet another character in the game referred to the Battle of Yavin 'happening a year ago.' StarsiderSWG (talk) 22:29, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm, interesting. If that's the case, then his appearance in SWG could make sense, and the assertion that he died "Pre-0 ABY" is erroneous. Might be worth updating the article to correct that. StarsiderSWG (talk) 22:58, August 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Alrighty. Wall of text coming your way. Quest dialogue for Ignar in SWG:
- (O = Omnaz, P = Player)
- O: I can see you asking yourself, "Is that really Ignar Ominaz, the swoop racer?" Yes indeed, that's me. I don't give autographs in person, but you can buy them from my HoloNet site. I'm giving you a chance to help me tune my new swoop. I ordered a custom power converter from Coronet, but the delivery agent is lost somewhere and needs safe escort here. Can you bring him?
- P: I gather that you're famous?
- O: What? You never heard of me? I expect you have and just forgot. Everyone in the galaxy followed my career back in the good Old Republic days, when I vied with Sergi-X Arrogantus for the Corulag championship. I'm still in the game, and this bike will carry me to another championship -- as soon as you bring me that courier. Will you?
- P: Yes
- O: Excellent! I forget the delivery agent's name, but he's a Drall, one of those little furry folks. I expect he must be a young fan eager to get into the world of swoop racing. Bring him here and give him a thrill.
- (Player goes to find Drall in wilderness, outside the Agrilat Swamp)
- Drall (to player): Are you from the customer who ordered this power converter?
- Drall (to player): What kind of idiot tries to fine-tune a swoop bike in the Agrilat Swamp? The crystal growth will ruin this power converter. Bring me to this nincompoop, and I'll tell him where he's gone wrong.
- Drall (to Ominaz): Thanks. You, Mister -- wait, let me check my order -- Mister Ominar. I mean Ominaz. If you had the brains of a kenalpa tree, you'd know -- wait. Ominaz. Any relation to that old washed-up swoop racer?
- O (to player): Well! Ah, um -- I guess this little fellow isn't quite ready for the racing game just yet. Anyway. Here, here's a little something for your time. You can tell your grandchildren you got these credits from Ignar Ominaz.
- (Next quest)
- O: You know, we professional swoop racers have rivalries that go way back. Why, I remember how many times Sergi-X Arrogantus used to call me a dirty -- well, anyway. My old rival Dinnik Innik is travelling here for a head-to-head race with me, just us, no publicity. He called and said he needs a guide through the swamp. Will you escort him?
- P: Why are you and Dinnik Innik rivals?
- O: Oh, for years Dinnik and I have fought for track position like a couple of slice hounds. He's a wiry little Chadra Fan, so there's a weight advantage right there. But the old Ignar Ominaz tactical magic brings its own advantages, you know. I expect he wants one last chance to prove he's still in the game. Poor guy, I pity him. Will you bring him here?
- P: Yes
- O: Good! It's hard to see Dinnik Innik, 'cause he's so small, but once you find him, bring him here for the race of the century!
- (Player goes to find Dinnik Innik in wilderness, outside the Agrilat Swamp)
- Dinnik (to player): Did Ignar send you to guide me?
- Dinnik (to player): The Agrilat Swamp gives me the chills. I'm glad you're here to take me to Ignar. I hear some disease is driving all the animals crazy.
- Dinnik (to Ominaz): Thanks, friend. So, Ignar! I'm not racing you today. I'm not racing you ever again. I have a holo showing how you sabotaged my swoop in our last race, and I'm reporting you to the Commission! You'll never race again, Ignar! I wanted to see the look on your face when I told you.
- O (to player: Uh. Umm. Well. Tell you what, friend, let's pretend this never happened. Here's something for your time. And don't forget the souvenirs available on my HoloNet site. StarsiderSWG (talk) 03:34, August 24, 2013 (UTC)

Honor family/Wookiee Honor Family
Hello, I noticed that you created Honor family, which already had an article at Wookiee Honor Family. I thought I would leave it up to you which article name to keep after the merge. Thank you for your time.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 01:26, August 26, 2013 (UTC)
Unidentifieds: This vs A
Hello, you're name was the first one on the list of AgriCorps names so I followed it here to ask you a question about Good Articles. The question is what appears in the Subject/headline portion of this Talk Page addition.
Anyways, in regards to articles surrounding 'Unidentifieds', how should they begin?
"A unidentified male/female blank did this and that during then."
or
"This unidentified male/female blank did this and that during then."
The question arises as I attempt to write up my first Good Article based on an Gran character. Originally I had written it with the word "This" to start the article. This comes due to having seen other articles with a GA status similarly written, most notably to me: Unidentified New Republic commander. Now this article became a GA roughly four years ago, and as such it's possible the times simply changed and the article was never updated. I've seen other articles with the similar use of "This", while having seen others with "A". The dates sometimes seem scattered, and in some cases it just seems to be based on if anyone objected to it or not. So as such I thought that I would come here and see if the issue could be cleared up, on what the proper opening word should be for "Unidentifieds". --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 20:51, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

reversion question
Hi, Cavalier One. When you revert an established user's edits, it's common courtesy to let him or her know why. May I inquire as to the reason for this reversion? Thank you. Asithol (talk) 03:13, August 29, 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I think you have either misread or misunderstood some of my changes in that edit.
- I was, in fact, doing the opposite of equating Star Wars law to real-world law: I was pointing out that they operate differently. If you think my wording needs clarification, I welcome suggestions.
- All major English style guides advise against starting a sentence with a numeral; my moving the date to parentheses was a fix for this. What style guide "generally discourages" putting dates in parentheses? I can find nothing about it in the Wookieepedia:Manual of Style. (Mind you, I'm not married to the phrasing I used in that edit; there are plenty of other ways to recast the sentence in order to move the 2004 away from the beginning. The parentheses seem simplest and cleanest, however.)
- You are correct, the title of an article should be in quotation marks, not italics; that's why my edit changed it in exactly this way. Your reversion put back the incorrect italics.
Anyway, I redid the edit without the date in parentheses, and with wording regarding real-world law hopefully clarified to show that I am not equating it to Star Wars law. Again, if you think this is still unclear, I am open to suggestions.Asithol (talk) 21:26, August 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm, also, in a much earlier edit to this section, you added a sentence referring to "Gentech." This is clearly a typo for either Geentech or Genetech, but due to the similarity of the names, and the fact that both are mentioned in proximity to this typo, I cannot deduce which one you meant. Why do you keep deleting the 303rd page? It isn't "fanon".
Really a warning saying that I added "fan fiction"? It isn't fan-made. I call it 303rd because the episode that featured them was episode 303. And there isn't info on that legion.

Table of Contents for list of Status Articles pages
Hi, I was wondering if you could give your input on the Senate Hall thread "Table of Contents requested for Status Articles pages" and let us know if you like the proposed Table of contents that was created by JangFett. If you want to see what it would look like, you can see it in this Table of Contents prototype page. Let us know what you think so we can implement this into the three pages (CA/GA/FA).--Richterbelmont10 (come in R2!) 18:29, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

"Vote farming?"
I was simply notifying people who were involved in the original CT discussion that I had reopened that discussion. It was a courtesy that they may wish to participate in it. Most, if not all of those people actually disagree with me. I am unsure why you jumped to the conclusion that I was notifying those people out of some kind of bad faith. I ask that you please assume good faith in the future before warning me for "vote farming" when I clearly was not doing so. --Gnarscien (talk) 18:11, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Starkiller-Kota.jpg/ Starkiller Kota Salvation.png
I'm not sure what you mean with "how many times I've reverted this edit now" since it was only done once, months ago. The reason for why I replaced the .jpg and sent it for deletion was because the .png has better quality and conveys the same concept although it's a different frame. Why keep the version with lower quality when the end result is the same as far as the article goes? Alexrd (talk) 19:02, November 17, 2013 (UTC)
- I would make a straight frame by frame swap if I could, but I only moved the video files and official screenshots of the game to my hard drive. And yes, as previously mentioned, it's not the same frame, but it's from the same part of the game, with the same characters while at the same time conveying the same information as the previous one. That's why I replaced it. I respect your original intent, but I just don't see the point of keeping a lower quality image when an alternative is available. Not to mention that images on articles are not stagnant, they can be changed. Alexrd (talk) 19:21, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

FF entries
Thanks for those. With the Tantive IV defenders as "doomed," well in the film itself we see how they were totally outgunned in the battle, and not all of them were killed as we saw Rebel troopers being taken captive. So with Enfield and Grenwick it really doesn't seem like the English entries mention anything about their deaths at all, and therefore I question if the Dutch article on Enfield used info not available in the English entries. Delevar actor
Hello Cav, I recently discovered that back in 2010 this site revealed that Brooks Carlson was played by Alf Joint. I think that should be added to Delevar's BTS section in which Leland Chee speculated they were the same actor. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 17:41, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Never compared those two myself, though I did note that if Delevar was supposed to be young, then him being the same actor as the gray-haired Brooks Carlson would be interesting. But now that you mentioned it, just looking at Delevar's face I can tell it doesn't look like Carlson/Joint. Leland Chee was similarly mistaken about speculating Lieutenant Arnet was possibly the AT-ST pilot shot by Leia (who I later read was played by Dickey Beer, who I don't think even looks like Arnet), before later correcting his mistake and realizing it had to have been a different character. Rugger in Fact Files
Hey, Cav! I have a quick request for you that will hopefully not take much time (if you can do it at all). I'm working on expanding the rugger article for the current Barn-Burner, and I know the species is mentioned in The Official Star Wars Fact File 10 END4, The Forest Moon of Endor. Do you have the Fact Files handy so you could let me know what this particular page says about them? I already have the info from FF109, which also talks about them. Thanks as always! ~Savage
