Apologies for the later reply; I must have missed this message during some technical difficulties we were having the day you posted it. I'm afraid that the Jedi and Force are not my area of expertise, so the best I can do is direct you to the lightsaber article, which also includes links to any other relevant articles. I would say, however, that lightsabers have been used to deflect or block lightning and other energy tendrils, so it is possible that a spell would be deflected or blocked. I guess it is all down to whether or not a magic spell obeys the laws of energy and physics, or is separate from them. - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 14:55, August 6, 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm afraid I have little to add to Cav's answer. In Star Wars, manifestations of things we call "magic" are almost always manifestations of The Force, and as Cav noted, lightsabers have been used to deflect Force lightning, so it is at least hypothetically possible they could do the same with a spell. However, it could also be that Harry Potter-style magic is fundamentally different from The Force, in which case it's anyone's guess how it would interact with a lightsaber. jSarek (talk) 23:54, September 16, 2013 (UTC)
