"Me, Silandra and Peethree were in the floating city of Penumbra, which orbits a gas giant in the Tollello system in the Outer Rim."
―Rooper Nitani[1]

The Tollello system was a star system in the Dail sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It had a gas giant that was orbited by the floating city of Penumbra. By around 377 BBY, the Jedi Rooper Nitani and Silandra Sho and the droid P3-7A infiltrated an illegal weapons deal and arrested Ullan Yite, the leader of the Bright Circle criminal organization, in order to prevent a pirate group from purchasing a stash of smuggled weapons.

Description

The Tollello system was a star system in the Dail sector of the Outer Rim Territories[3] and Trailing Sectors.[2] It lay in grid square Q-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[3] The system contained a gas giant, which was orbited by the floating city of Penumbra. Penumbra was the site of a complex utilized by Ullan Yite, the leader of the Bright Circle criminal organization.[1]

History

"Our aim was to arrest a man named Ullan Yite, leader of a criminal organization known as the Bright Circle. Our intelligence suggested the whole operation would collapse without him, and the pirates would be rendered toothless without their supplier."
―Rooper Nitani[1]

By around 377 BBY,[4] a pirate group intended to illegally purchase a large stash of smuggled weapons to use in a series of raids on other settlements in the sector in Penumbra. Jedi Knight Rooper Nitani, Jedi Master Silandra Sho, and the droid P3-7A infiltrated the deal with the aim of arresting Yite and collapsing the operation. P3-7A was assigned to infiltrate Penumbra's control systems and close the blast doors of Yite's complex to prevent him from escaping to his yacht. However, when Nitani and Sho moved to arrest Yite, the doors did not shut and Yite fled to his yacht.[1]

The Jedi attempted to pursue Yite, but first had to engage his enforcer droids. Just as they were in attack range, the doors shut, separating the Jedi from both the droids and Yite. When Nitani and Sho eventually cut their way out using their lightsabers, they found that P3-7A had sabotaged Yite's yacht by removing its central processor, leaving him stuck on Penumbra. As a result, the Jedi were able to arrest Yite, successfully completing the mission.[1]

Around that year,[4] Nitani made a pilgrimage to the Holy City on[1] the moon[5] Jedha and visited the bar Enlightenment, where she spoke with the patrons Piralli and Moona, who were both friends of P3-7A and his previous owner, Keth Cerepath, and told them about their arrest of Yite in the Tollello system. Piralli commented that the location did not sound impressive, and Nitani agreed, describing it as a den of vice and iniquity. After, P3-7A presented Piralli with the processor from Yite's yacht, which he needed to complete the restoration of his own yacht.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Tollello system was first mentioned in "Missing Pieces," a short story written by George Mann and published in the 2024 short story collection Star Wars Insider: The High Republic: Tales of Enlightenment as part of the The High Republic: Tales of Enlightenment series and the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[6]
