This creature was later known as a Morseerian.[38] The Morseerian first appeared as a cantina alien in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. During the film's production, Leids' species was listed as "Plutonian" by John Mollo.[39] According to Tom Spina, in the film, Leids was portrayed by an actress named Diana Sadley Way, who was also listed in Mollo's notes.[40][39] At one point Morseerians were considered for the role of a senator in Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode Hostage Crisis.
