User Ban Template Idea

Galactic Battlegrounds Aurebesh translations

  • Actually, just about every misspelling in this section is [sic] because the text is apparently riddled with errors. Personally, I'd support removing the section entirely because it contains several of the typos in the Hunt, and there's too many of them to mark [sic]. ‘Millenium’ is just the tip of the iceberg, but for what it's worth, that's a misspelling in the source material. Enochf 18:30, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Alright. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe instead of labeling all with [sic], we should just put a note on that section such as, "This section is a direct quote of ???, all typos are correct", or something of the sort. —Xwing328(Talk) 20:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
      • I know. I was talking to Green tentacle about this a few minutes before because he fixed a typo in the same section. This is a quick-fix, but it's the best I could think of. Enochf 20:40, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing the code in my signature. What's odd is that the problem never showed up for me, so I didn't notice that I hadn't closed the tag. Maybe just each unique browser handled it differently. Anyway, I appreciate it. --Wildyoda-talk-contribs-20px 22:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Can you tell me how you got your bot? I want to make a bot but I am confused.--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 20:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
    • P.S. I am adding you and Whistler to my Friends list.--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 22:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Can you tell me too? There's a wiki that I'm helping and something like this would be great.--Herbsewell 01:05, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
        • Well I think the best source of information for you starting would be User:Sikon/Pywikipedia. Also, look at Wikipedia's many pages on bot stuff. Basically, you download the Pywikipedia software, create a bot username for it to run under, follow the instructions provided by Sikon (or others), then login and run Pywikipedia scripts using a program like Command Prompt. For example: If I want to move articles from one category to another, I would open Command Prompt and type category.py move -from:First_Category_Name -to:Second_Category_Name. Unless you're making mass edits, a bot really won't be to helpful though. Make sure you follow the communities wishes as well. Not everyone likes bot edits. I hope this helps. —Xwing328(Talk) 06:42, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

          • I have a bad feeling about this. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:53, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
            • You're not the only one. As long as they prove their value to the community. —Xwing328(Talk) 06:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
  • OK. I wrote some instructions (similar to Sikon's but hopefully more detailed) at User:Xwing328/Pywikipedia. In response to your previous question: Yes, leave the ' marks. You can get to Command Prompt by clicking Start, Run, typing cmd, and pressing OK. The "snapshot" just gets placed inside the Python folder. Hopefully the instructions I wrote will explain the rest. And no, emailing the code isn't entirely feasible right now. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
    • LOL. I don't think and e-mail would be needed anymore. One final question though. Do I extract the folder into Python_2.5 or just into Program Files?--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 00:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Yes, if you are talking about the snapshot, extract it into a folder under Python 2.5. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:49, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
        • I was actually refering to the Python. I should have specified.--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 00:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
          • OK, then extract it to C:/Program Files/Python 2.5. It can really be whatever you want, as long as you know how to get to it. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:52, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
            • What I had was a .msi file (Windows Installer Package). You click it, and it asks you where you want it. So like I said above, just put it wherever you want. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:54, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
              • Is there a folder in your .msi?--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 00:57, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                • No. If you have the .msi file, click it, and it should open up an install window. From there, you choose what to install and where to install it. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:00, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
              • OK. That settles it. The .tar had a folder. Thanks!!!--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 01:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                • Alright, I don't remember a .tar folder, but as long as you figured it out...Good luck. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:03, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                • Oh yeah. One last thing. Do you take the snapshot files out of the snapshot folder and put them into your Pywikipedia folder or do you leave the files in the snapshot folder?--Ultric Sandov--[Ultimate Spy]--File:UltricSandov.jpg--[Bothawui] [Send Transmision] 01:05, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • Leave the snapshot files in their folder. I'm pretty sure I just named it Pywikipedia and placed that folder in the Python 2.5 folder. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:09, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                    • Ummm. When I type in 'Login.py', is it supposed to open up 'login.py' in notepad?User:Ultric Sandov 01:31, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                      • Do me a favor and log in to the IRC channel, it will be easier to help you from there. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:32, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
                        • How would you do this with other wikias?--Herbsewell 03:13, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                          • Edit user-config.py and change 'starwars' to whatever site you're on. Also change your username and language if that stuff is different. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                            • What format do we create the files?--Herbsewell 15:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                              • If you're talking about the user-congfig.py file, create it in Notepad but be sure to save it as a .py file, and NOT a text file. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:45, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                • I typed in login.py and got this notepad file with a bunch of text. Where do I put the password?--Herbsewell 18:20, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                  • Looks like you have the same problem as Ultric. You have to change the file association so that it doesn't automatically open with Notepad. To do that, find the login.py file, right click on it, and go to properties. Then click "Change" in the "Opens with:" area and find Python or python.exe. Hopefully that'll take care of the problem. Note: in order to edit a .py file, you'll have to right click on it and say Edit with IDLE, Edit with Notepad, or Open with Notepad, whichever choice it gives you. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:29, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                    • Well this question is kinda late but how do you make a python file? I have no idea what is it.--Herbsewell 18:33, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                      • Um, I thought I explained this...open up Notepad. You should have a blank file. Type in the information you want, and click File - Save as. Enter YourFileName.py and for "Save as type", select "All files". Then click save. The only python files you should even be creating are the ones listed in the instructions here. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                        • Where is python.exe?--Herbsewell 18:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                          • If you followed the instructions I wrote, it should be under C:\Program Files\Python 2.5. Otherwise, it'll be wherever you installed Python. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:47, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                            • It is the one with the symbol that sort of looks like a swastika in front of the chalkboard like window that says python? Also I downloaded Python25.--Herbsewell 18:53, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                              • Swastika...lol. Yes. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:54, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                                                • Ok, for some reason the login.py deleted itself.--Herbsewell 19:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

                                                    • So I got it from my recycling bin, changed it to a python file, and did the whole command and login.py thing. Then I got this:

            • Ah, I forgot you weren't on starwars. What site ARE you editing? I'd suggest opening up starwars_family.py under the Families folder and resaving it as whatever site you are on. Then change the values to the new ones. If you don't know what to change, I might be able to figure it out. You also need to change user-config.py as it is probably still set to Whistler and starwars. —Xwing328(Talk) 20:03, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
              • It's zelda.wikia.com so I'm pretty sure it's Zelda wiki.--Herbsewell 20:05, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
                • It looks like all the 'starwars' should be 'zelda' and 'Wookieepedia' should be 'Zeldapedia'.

This is my guess for zelda_family.py

import family

class Family(family.Family):
   def __init__(self):
       family.Family.__init__(self)
       self.name = 'zelda'

       self.langs = {
           'en': None,
           }

       # Most namespaces are inherited from family.Family.
       self.namespaces[4] = {
           '_default': u'Zeldapedia',
       }
       self.namespaces[5] = {
           '_default': u'Talk:Zeldapedia',
       }

       # A few selected big languages for things that we do not want to loop over
       # all languages. This is only needed by the titletranslate.py module, so
       # if you carefully avoid the options, you could get away without these
       # for another wiki family.
       self.languages_by_size = ['en']
   def hostname(self,code):
       return 'zelda.wikia.com'
   def path(self, code):
       return '/index.php'
   def version(self, code):
       return "1.7"

I'm not sure if the namespaces are correct though. You actually might need to delete those two. If so, you'll probably get a message about it in Command Prompt. —Xwing328(Talk) 20:12, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

          • Okay they told me to try using Python 2.4 or Python 2.3 Otherwise, run the Python interpreter and type in: "import site". Where can I get Python 2.4 or Python 2.3?--Herbsewell 21:06, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
            • Go to http://www.python.org. I believe this is the file you want - http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.4/python-2.4.4.msi —Xwing328(Talk) 21:17, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
              • Okay Xwing328. It worked. Wait I used my own username for the site. Will it say if it worked or not? If didn't work will it say? How do I know it logged on?--Herbsewell 21:19, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
                • OK, to continue this conversation 1) log on to AIM and message me at Xwing328 or 2) let me know if you don't have AIM. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:23, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Here it is:
WasakaMint Cookie
Herbsewell has awarded you a Mint Wookiee Cookie!
For Succeeding at curing my bot and me of technical [Redacted by administration].

My name change:

  • Because it occurred to me that I would quite like to have a name, that was also that of one of my favorite characters. I assumed Darth Bane and Boba Fett were both taken (whether they actually are or not doesn't really concern me) and I know for a fact Darth Vader is taken. Tott Doneeta, Mith'raw'nuruodo(If I spelt that right then I am truly the master of Star Wars) Kir Kanos and Kyle Katarn are not really the suave arrogant charismatic young and brilliant guys that I am....So Jagged Fel was therefore an obvious choice.... And the rest (as they say) is history....Besides...I've had that "humorbot" id since 2000/2001....I was only 10/11 then so I for one think it was definitely time for a change...Besides I'm a lot more like Jagged Fel than I am Humorbot 5.0 anyway...(see Humorbot 5.0 about half way down the page.) Plus when you're called "Jagged Fel" noone can say "Why's he called ..... He's not even funny." Well those my friend, are the reasons for my name change...In time perhaps you will accept my new name....and completely forget about the old one...For now I bid you adieu.... Jagged Fel, the man formerly known as Humorbot (Yo!)20px
  • I see. I've had my name since well before 2000, but I don't really feel like changing.
    Xwing328 goes into a meditative trance to erase Humorbot5 from his memory. :P —Xwing328(Talk) 17:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Three-revert rule

I’m an n00b and I just learned of this rule when you mentioned it on Jack Nebulax’s talk page. I have a question; this rule seems to only apply when you repeatedly (4 times in 24 hours) revert another wookieepedian’s edits. Usually when I edit an article I’ll do a little edit, then I’ll notice something else or decide to add a link and so on, and I end up editing the page far more than 3 times in a day but when I do this I don’t revert anyone else’s edits, I merely add to the article. Is the penalty of the revert rule applicable in this situation? Either way I’ve been trying not to do this, now I think about the edits that I’ll make to an article longer than five seconds. Leader 01:37, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Replied on Leader's talk page. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Location boxes

How do you use location boxes? I was looking on the userbox proposals and saw your Texas box, I was wondering how to use them, because I was going to create a Georgia one. - Patricksheridan 6:20pm, January 11, 2007

I am confused.

Before I start I just want to tell you that I am okay with the block. I am not argueing with you about it, I'm just confused on what your email said. In your Email you said that he warned me on the Alpha 17 section of my talk page. That had nothing to do with the more recent arguement with Darth Culator. Please let me know on Quinlanfan's talk page or Email. Thanks a lot. Quinlanfan

Did you figure out why I can't get Leebo to work?--User_talk:Ultric Sandov 23:46, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, I think so. Edit login.py, find the line that says something like len(L) == 4 and change the 4 to 5. Then save it and try to log in again. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:59, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

    • One last thing. How do I do the whole -something + something else stuff?--Your friendly neighborhood squealer00:15, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
      • I'm assuming you mean how do you replace something. Type replace.py -page:Name_of_Page "text to replace" "new text" It will show what it is going to change, then ask for confirmation. y=yes n=no, a=yes to every page. You can actually have it change more than one page, which is what makes it useful. The best way to do so is make a text file called Replace.txt. In it, list all the pages to change. Ex: Page 1 Page 2 Another page Some random page You get the point. Then you'd run it by typing replace.py -file:Replace.txt "text to replace" "what you want it to say" Make sense? Also, open up the scripts, such as replace.py with Notepad and read the descriptions to find more things you can do. Also, replace.py -page:Main_Page and replace.py -page:"Main Page" are the same. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

    • How do you edit a page?--User_talk:Ultric Sandov 02:50, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
      • You have to run scripts. It's only handy if you're doing mass edits, so you can tell it to move all these pages here or replace this word with that in this category. If I were you, I'd try searching for some tutorials on the internet. It's kinda hard to explain any more without going into painstaking detail. —Xwing328(Talk) 02:52, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

                • If you have more than one page being edited, [a]ll confirms the changes for every page, instead of having to press [y]es for each page. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • Yeah I just learned that, thanks. Is there a way for it not to sleep?--Herbsewell 04:35, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                    • Not without screwing up the server. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:38, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                      • Okay. You could have told me before about -start:!. Can you teach me how to categorize pages, with the bot?--Herbsewell 11:42, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                        • What did -start:! do? And it's not that it screws up the server, more like it can overload it. To learn more, just read the summaries in category.py. They all follow the same basic format. For example, type python category.py move -from:US -to:'United States' This will move all pages in the category US to the category United States. —Xwing328(Talk) 14:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                          • Well nothing really, it's just I really wanted a way to be able to edit the entire server.--Herbsewell 21:44, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                            • Ah, that's cool...the only thing you have to worry about is overloading it, but that's what the throttle values do, so unless you change them, it shouldn't be a problem at all. At least, that's what I think. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:46, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
                              • I want to take all articles in Category:Enemies and take out of them Category:Races. How would I do this?--Herbsewell 01:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
                                • OK, I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think it would be something like: replacy.py -cat:Enemies "" "" This will probably leave a blank line, but it should work. If it misses a few articles, the capitalization of those might be different, like —Xwing328(Talk) 01:09, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
                                  • Is there a difference between replace.py and replacy.py?--Herbsewell 01:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
                                    • Yeah, it's called a typo :P —Xwing328(Talk) 01:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
                                      • . Anyway, is there a way to get a bot to do things automatically?--Herbsewell 01:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
                                        • Supposedly, but I don't know how. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:19, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

  • First of all, what are you trying to edit on the Wookieepedia? Also, it appears you defined a language somewhere as sw instead of en. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Well maybe you can do it. Since we found out writing Star Wars Missions 4: Destroy the Liquidator is grammatically incorrect, I took it upon myself to correct all appearances that have it in this fashion. Do you know where I might have put sw instead of en?--Herbsewell 00:37, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
      • I can't say for sure, but that's what the last line of the code makes me think. Check starwars_family.py and user-config.py. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:38, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
        • I had Whistler change some, I don't know if any others or left. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:43, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Just an unrelated request. There are some people at wiki I'm using the bot in, (one of them just became an admin) and they asking about how to make a bot. Is it possible that you could make your instructions universal for all wikia, and add the part about the changing the len(L) == 4 to len(L) == 5?--Herbsewell 01:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
            • I changed them a bit, and it has links at the bottom to other helpful pages. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
              • Just for confirmation from an admin, should Iron Fist be changed like Star Wars Missions 4: Destroy the Liquidator?--Herbsewell 01:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
                • I won't kill you for changing it, but you might wanna do a quick poll in the forums. —Xwing328(Talk) 02:02, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • I've never even seen a book italicized like that, but whatever... —Xwing328(Talk) 02:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
                    • Since there is now a vote on this, do we just reverse all the corrections that whistler and me did?--Herbsewell 03:05, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
                      • No, leave them until it is decided. —Xwing328(Talk)
                        • I'm asking because Kuralyov reverted all my corrections of pages that list the novel Iron Fist as an appearance, but whatever...--Herbsewell 03:35, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Okay Xwing. This thing where when I get in the S section of articles is still happening. I even tried downloading the snapshot that Sikon made. What do I do?--Herbsewell 14:41, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
    • I have no idea. Maybe one of the articles has a funky character in it that isn't supported. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:25, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Interesting hypothesis. What about you, does this happen to you when you get to this point?--Herbsewell 16:33, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
        • No, and I don't ever use start:! as it's not recommended. Don't ask me why, go read the notes in the file. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:24, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Can you help me help somebody else make a bot? I'm having trouble making a family for this wiki--Herbsewell 18:58, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
            • I'm guessing this is what you want, saved as finalfantasy_family.py:
import family

class Family(family.Family):
   def __init__(self):
       family.Family.__init__(self)
       self.name = 'finalfantasy'

       self.langs = {
           'en': None,
           }

       # Most namespaces are inherited from family.Family.
       self.namespaces[4] = {
           '_default': u'Final Fantasy Wiki:',
       }
       self.namespaces[5] = {
           '_default': u'Final Fantasy Wiki talk:',
       }

       # A few selected big languages for things that we do not want to loop over
       # all languages. This is only needed by the titletranslate.py module, so
       # if you carefully avoid the options, you could get away without these
       # for another wiki family.
       self.languages_by_size = ['en']
   def hostname(self,code):
       return 'finalfantasy.wikia.com'
   def path(self, code):
       return '/index.php'
   def version(self, code):
       return "1.7"

  • OK, I closed the original thread for now. I have started a new thread, put haven't posted it yet so that we can work out some details. Please contact me via IRC or some other method. —Xwing328(Talk) 22:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Debate

I saw that you are going to re start the action figure debate. I started that debate and I would like you to know that when I started the supporting side I ment for the details to be for the supporting side to be wanting the figures of EU figures ONLY on their page. If you have any questions please ask on my talk page. Thanks, Grand Admiral Nick Vos [Holonet] Republic Emblem

pyWikipediaBot answers

17:14 < Xwing328> alright...I've just never looked at fixes.py before
17:18 < Xwing328> Also, if you're doing a site-wide edit, is there a way to avoid user pages?
17:20 < Xwing328> or other namespaces, for that matter. But it doesn't appear the user pages are on a seperate namespace on this wiki
17:23 < Xwing328> Maybe I should explain some more: I think I could just do -namespace:1 to get all main articles, but I believe that changes user pages too
17:24 < Xwing328> Harriv - do you know?

For one, the article namespace should be 0, not 1. 1 is the article talk namespace. And yes, -namespace:0 would tell the bot to only edit articles, but that's assuming that the bot has been coded with the -namespace parameter. So far only copyright.py, redirect.py, refcheck.py, replace.py, standardize_notes.py, templatecount.py, and template.py support these options. It might be worth it to make it a global option (like -putthrottle). You should ask the mailing list about that. --Cyde Weys 22:35, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Addendum: the numbers of the namespaces I gave are from Wikimedia projects. I'm not sure how this place is set up. --Cyde Weys 22:38, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Hard-working Whistler

  • I've got a tentative list of typos, copied mostly from the GTH, but with all of the "judgment call" ones removed because Bots Can't Think, that Whistler could handle, but keeping in mind that it shouldn't be making replacements if it's part of an Image filename (can it check that?) I'll plonk it on Whistler's talk page. Enochf 02:09, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
    • OK, thanks for the list. I'll have to format it eventually for the script to work, and look to see if it can avoid image names. Of course, it would be nice if people spelled correctly when uploading images :P I'll let you know if and when anything happens. —Xwing328(Talk) 02:47, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
      • It's going to take a lot of work if I want to get this script working. One of the problems is that if any of these misspellings could be the beginning, middle, or ending of any other word, it can't easily be replaced. But I'm working on that...slowly. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:50, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Source Templates

  • I actually already noticed your comments and changed my vote. You'll notice my comment that the specific article that sparked this off didn't really seem to fit those at the time (really still kinda doesn't) but that I'm willing to call it a fluke. The main goal was to kinda bring attention to it. I don't really think some of those get used, but it could just be our general efficiency in wiping out fanon before they are required. At any rate, thanks for taking the time to go through and list all of those. Wildyoda 00:59, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah, there are a lot that don't get used, but what do you expect on a wiki this size? :P —Xwing328(Talk) 03:42, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I have tried to ask darth culator about why he blocked me last month. Could you please tell him to check his talk pare and answer my questions? Thanks, Quinlanfan 23:23, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Format

  • A little late, but I think it's a good idea. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:05, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
    • For some reason, the last few forum pages didn't show up in the box, so they weren't moved to the new namespace. This, in my mind, is not a good thing. I'm not exactly sure how to fix it, but I know that a number of them aren't appearing. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:10, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Fixed it. All I had to do was turn the table count factor up. It was on 15, but it's now set on 50. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:13, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

New Sith Wars Timeline

  • Can you have a go at fixing the easy-timeline at the New Sith Wars page? The text timeline of the battles on the page itself is now accurate, but danged if I can get the coloured timeline down the bottom to match up to it. QuentinGeorge 09:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I added a bunch of the other battles, and I think I fixed what you were talking about. Let me know. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

New Dialogue templates

  • Is it possible to get some Quotetrans equivalents for the Template:Dialogue? Thanks --Eyrezer 10:42, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm not sure the best way to do this, without making a bunch of different templates for translating the first speaker only, the second speaker, both speakers, or having more than two speakers. So right now, I just have it translate both speakers. Here you go - Template:Dialoguetrans —Xwing328(Talk) 16:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Thanks, thats what I had in mind. All those variations had not occured to me! --Eyrezer 04:30, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

WookieeVacation + Inquisitor

  • Xwing, I need to take a vacation from now until March 2. I'll still be on every now and then, but some very pressing real life matters need attending to. Oh, and I'll still be at the Mofference. Anyway, would you mind taking up my Inquisitor's hat in my absence?

Since this is the first time this has happened, the way I had intended for an Inquisitor on vacation, their substitute would vote on anything new that the original person hadn't already voted on. Also, I'd give you permission to strike my votes that you think are inaccurate or wrong. You can't change stuff that's already gone through (like already stricken objections), but other than that, you'd be fully empowered. Just don't change all my votes. :-P Let me know if you can do it, otherwise I'll find someone else. Thanks. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

    • I should be able to fill in, unless some real-life issues of my own pop up...like the speech in a week and exam Monday :( I'll let you know if I have any trouble. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Help

Hey Xwing, I need some help with templates, could you make a few infobox templates for me on the KOTOR Wikia? I'm the founder of it, and am not so good with infoboxes. The main ones I need are a Jedi character infobox, a Sith character infobox, a Republic character infobox, and a Czerka character infobox. Get back to me when you can. Brain40

  • I don't have the time right now, but can't you just copy and paste what we have here? Of course, you'll have to copy and paste the source templates that generate them, assuming you use the source code. If you can't figure it out, I might get around to it later. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:18, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Signature Help

Hello Xwing, I've noticed that your signature appears as a template when the page is being edited instead of having a long line of code like mine. Would you please be able to tell me how to change this? Thank you, -NighthawkLeader 06:03, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

  • You need two signature pages in order to do this. It's not always recommended...but I don't care if you do it. See User:Xwing328/sig and User:Xwing328/sig1. The first one is the actual signature code, like you have now. The second one is basically a template of the first, which is the code you see when I sign my signature. This is the page you subst in your preferences: . Did that make sense? —Xwing328(Talk) 15:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes it was a big help. Thanks! -NighthawkLeader 08:57, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

SOTE

You are wrong. Because of the stupid rules on wookieepedia, we can't talk about figures or fannon! Quinlanfan 17:47, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

  • You should know there are two other Wikis, one for fanon and the other for action figures and other merchandise.--Lord OblivionSith holocron20px 17:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Thank you. I couldn't have put it much better myself. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, I tried to get on the fannon wiki but I could not acsess it. Quinlanfan 18:25, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Merchandise wiki

I should be the founder of this wiki. I came up with Idea. I started the whole discussion on it. Quinlanfan 18:27, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

  • And you could have been the founder if you had proposed the idea to Wikia. You can still be a part of the community, there is nothing preventing that. If you can't access Star Wars Fanon, you might be blocked. But trying to start a whole new wiki just because you can't use that one isn't the best of ideas. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:29, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Can I at least be a beuracrat? It started with my discussion. I have over 800 star wars star wars figures. Quinlanfan 18:32, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • No. The Origins of SWMW: This was the first place anything about merchandise was brought up - Forum:Vote of figures. There is no mention of an alternate wiki yet. That proceded to become Forum:CT:Action figures, in which the idea of a Star Wars Merchandise Wiki began; however, you did not vote or comment about the alternate wiki whatsoever. This proceded yet again into Forum:CT:Action figures - Revised, where you did not place a single vote or comment. Furthermore, as you said on Forum:Star Wars Merchandise Wiki requested, "I voted against it, but if it does go through I will help." —Xwing328(Talk) 18:47, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
  • You are wrong! I started the Action figure vote in senate hall! And before that I was in a discussion with another user and someone told me to change the dicussion to senate hall. So I did. I started that discussion! Quinlanfan 18:54, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Quinlanfan began this in the general discussion forum. I've brought it here for those interested in discussing the topic. — SparqMan Talk 17:51, 11 January 2007 (UTC) Quinlanfan 18:58, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

  • In case you didn't notice, I linked to that forum in my previous comment. I'm well aware of where this began. "This was the first place anything about merchandise was brought up - Forum:Vote of figures." —Xwing328(Talk) 19:00, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Except you never suggested a Star Wars Merchandise Wiki. You only suggested to put Action Figure info in Wookieepedia. JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 19:01, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • WEll can I at least be an admin since I started the discussion. I listed on the Merch. wiki that I wanted to help.Quinlanfan 19:02, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Possibly, but with this recent argument, who knows. We have to be able to trust you with the powers that are given, and you have to prove yourself first to gain our trust. —Xwing328(Talk) 19:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I am sorry, Some personal things at home were going on while this discussion was going on. I over reacted. What can I do to prove my self worthy? Quinlanfan 19:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I forgot to mention that I am an admin at KOTOR wiki. Please fell free to talk to Brian40 about me. Quinlanfan 19:09, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • The same things that Wookieepedia takes into account. Show responsibility, kindness to users, etc. Of course, the "member for 6 months" rule doesn't apply, since this just started. Also, as we don't have a TON of users yet, our need for admins is lower than that of Wookieepedia. —Xwing328(Talk) 19:12, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
    • So? If I show kindness to others on the Merch. Wiki I can become an admin? How long are we talking about? Quinlanfan 19:14, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
      • It's not just about kindness, but if we feel you have to attributes of an admin, then yes. And there's no time period set in stone. It's just if and when we feel you are ready. In the meantime, continue to contribute as a normal user, as pretty much everything we need done is not something an admin has to do. —Xwing328(Talk) 19:17, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Okay, groovy! My user name on there is Sir Figurelot. How do you like it?Quinlanfan 19:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

NEC images

I made a note of the three remaining images needed to fill out this gallery. I'll try to get them scanned within the next week. I'll also try and make sure all the images from the gallery are used in some article so they don't get deleted for being gallery-only images. - JMAS 13:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you very much. Of course, the gallery itself is likely to be deleted as it's straight from the book, but those pictures are so good. I don't want to see them all go to waste. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, I got a good chunk of the unused one placed in articles. But most of the ones if individual characters, especially major or semi-major characters, just aren't good enough quality to go in the articles, so they'll likely get blasted. - JMAS 01:05, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Alright...thanks again —Xwing328(Talk) 01:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

4 novel

Hi ! I have a problem on episode 4 novel at appearances, the language section have 4 languages and i think its enough for its own section but Kwenn constantly erase the language section and put the languages at miscellenea section, please solve this issue !Darth Nospher 18:56, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Please answer me to my question !Darth Nospher 21:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

  • In case you somehow missed the note at the top of my page, I'm extremely busy this week. It was decided in a thread not to have "Languages" as it's own main heading under "Appearances". So if you want, put ====Languages==== as a subsection of ===Miscellanea===. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:55, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for your answer !Darth Nospher 22:29, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Bot

I have a request for your bot when you've got the time. Could you run it to change "|imageBG=white" to "|imageBG=ffffff" as the white no longer works on the new templates. Thanks. --Eyrezer 11:16, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Maybe something's changed since then, but I don't notice any difference. Correct me if I'm wrong. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Have a look here to see what I mean. It doesn't matter if the image goes right to the edge of the infobox, but when it doesn't you can see that the color is not white. --Eyrezer 05:26, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Ah, OK. Jaymach actually tried to do that earlier today, but we have a bot problem. For some reason, we're not able to access the Special:Allpages list, so the bot doesn't run automatically through all pages. If we get it worked out, we'll take care of this. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:31, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
        • No problem. --Eyrezer 01:52, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Great bot! This is the first time I've seen one around the site (I'm still fairly new), yours is awesome! Mrobviousjosh 03:39, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey! I'm glad you like it. It's just running a maintenance script I wrote right now, so some people actually get annoyed when it goes around capitalizing the first letters of templates they forgot, etc. but another user asked me earlier to run it again. Belated welcome to Wookieepedia, since I've never talked to you before! —Xwing328(Talk) 03:43, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Do you mean remove from the gallery-only images page? If so, no, because it is still only used in a gallery and on your user page, neither of which are fair use, unless it is used in an actual article also. —Xwing328(Talk) 15:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Help

Hello Xwing! I have a question. Is Darth Maul died or is he alive?--Heiliger Klingone 17:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Since Xwing might be too busy to answer you, I will. He is dead. He was cut in half, and fell down an amaranthine aperture. Any other resurrection of him is non-canon or has a canon, logical explanation.--Herbsewell 10:04, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Thx Herbsewell. lmao. Klingone - Maul has actually died several times. Apparently, several reincarnations of him appeared. But yes, Darth Maul is dead. If you haven't already, you can read about him at his article: Darth Maul. —Xwing328(Talk) 14:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Company stubs

Stop using Company-stubs for articles under Category:Real_world_companies since it is for in-universe articles only. Company_stubs is a sub-category of in-universe companies. A template should be made though for real-world company stubs. Localdara-1 16:52, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah sure. Next time just ask nicely. And you can create that template yourself if you want. In fact, it can actually be the same template if you know how to use if statements. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:02, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

OK Thank You Localdara-1 19:50, 21 April 2007 (UTC) I am going to revert my changes now with the correction.Localdara-1 19:54, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Pamphlets and banners

Thank you, I will do my best. Also, as an Inq, could you choose the FA article you think is the best, as it is difficult for me to discern a good article from a bad one, unless it the article reeks. Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:09, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

  • That's what I was thinking, too. Especially since using a whole article would mean very tiny print. I'll go through and pick a couple and give you the list to approve. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:26, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
    • That one was one of the first on my list. :) -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:29, 22 April 2007 (UTC)EDIT: What's your favorite character article? I can't choose. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:30, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
      • Okay, Thank you. I have a list of some of the articles we could do a mini-thing of, but we will have to shave it down to probably six to make it fit. As you are the expert, I'll leave it to you.

Starting a Concensus track is fine with me, as I can go ahead and design the outside. I just don't know how fast you want this done, and CTs take time. I'm using Photoshop, by the way, and not long ago I finally learned how to take screenshots on a Mac. To quote the Hiromi, YAAYYY!!-Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:45, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Okay, sure. Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:53, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
    • If I may, I'd like to suggest Hiromi as the species article. Also, the TFU article isn't all that great. --Imp ATATatarismall.png 21:04, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
      • Thank you, and I'm sorry for the delay in replying. Imp just proved my point in how terrible I am at picking out good articles.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:08, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
        • Oh, maybe I should check it out. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:16, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
          • I was unable to find a list anywhere, and as you are so much involved with it, could you give me a list of the events Wookieepedia will be doing/hosting? I thought a list of them and a little blurb would go well on the pamphlet.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 17:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
            • I have a screenshot of the rough draft of the front panels of the pamphlet here. Critique away.-Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:21, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Search icons

Are both you and Sikon approving the new proposals for Search icons? Most of the current proposals have been sitting there for some time now. I'm gonna stop on any new proposals for the forseeable future - unless I find an image that just cries out to be one - so as to keep from overwhelming whoever it is that approves them. *L* - JMAS 18:24, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Basically any admin can approve them. But yeah, we seem to be the only two doing it. And we already have a ton. Thanks for making some :) —Xwing328(Talk) 17:52, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

With some allowances made for size: undermine.net/tracy/mirth/wook/pediaMFingBIG.png. Saved at a print DPI (150) when shrunken it ought to work. If you need a JPG or whatever let me know ASAP, because I'm moving and the PC with the images and the Photoshop is going down in a day or so and probably won't be back until next week. I'll try to throw some stuff on a key drive so I can do tweaks elsewhere, but no guarantees because, well, moving.

And BTW, the font used in the original Wookiee search icon (and most of the logo) is Episode I.

  • On second thought... Uploaded a JPG and a (layered) TIFF (.tif) version, since I doubt the PNG preserved the original DPI. (Same file names, new extension) And also I forgot to sign. -- Dark Spork 16:41, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
    • That'll work. I think it's MFing big enough :P Thank you!!! —Xwing328(Talk) 16:51, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
      • You're welcome. :) I blew it up a bit more than was probably wise, but hopefully it'll scale better that way. -- Dark Spork 21:13, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Kella Rand

Hi Xwing328, for the most part I found this artile to written clearly. It explains the character clearly and leaves no questions hanging; also, the layout is nice to the viewers eyes, with no big gaps, and flows nicely. I objected to the article temporarily, because I noticed a couple grammatical things that I wanted to fix before I gave my support for it. I just got time this morning to do it, so I've striked my objection and, the article now has my support. Your question on my talk page reminded me what I wanted to do, thanks. Cheers! Greyman(Paratus) 13:16, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Fixed your objection

On the Great Jedi Purge inquisitorious page, I fixed your objection there. Could you please strike the objection? Thanks. --Darthchristian (Hey!) 20:38, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Pink Kidneys

Hey Xwing. I remembered you did a text search for "kidney" to get info for that article. I was wondering if you could do the same for the word "pink" for me? I'm looking for a reference to a pink Duro that is claimed on the Near-Duros article, but has no source. Thanks. --Eyrezer 12:24, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Eyrezer - there are actually too many hits on it for me to go through now, even narrowing it down to "pink" and "duro". If you have any other keywords or could narrow the sources down some, that might help. —Xwing328(Talk) 15:20, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Wow, really? I would never have guessed. I can't really think of any way to narrow it down, so don't worry about it. --Eyrezer 01:55, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Craken

Why did you take my info off of Ceaken's page? I am 99% positive that it is him. If you want a better picture please go to: http://www.rebelscum.com/tsc046rebelB.asp and: http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/TSC/tsc046rebelinsert.jpg It says on the page The figure of the Rebel Trooper is actually a gunner aboard the Milennium Falcon during the Battle of Endor. That makes it him. Please let me know what you think. Thank you and have a nice day! Anzati02 13:04, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Sorry it took me so long to get to this. It's fixed now. That article could use a tiny bit of expansion, too. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:17, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Dace Diath

Hey Xwing. I just finished a rewrite and expansion of the Dace Diath article. I was wondering if you could look over it and let me know how it looks from your perspective. I'm think I'm going to try promoting it for GA status sometime in the near future. Thanks for your time and help, Cheers! Greyman(Paratus) 21:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey again, I don't know if you were able to look over the article or not, but I put it on the GA page yesterday. Thanks anyways. Greyman(Paratus) 11:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
  • I'll look at it eventually. I've been very busy and won't be on much at all, because I just started a nearly full-time internship in addition to a summer course. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:08, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Scroll Box

Hi , I am having some (more like a lot of) trouble arranging my user boxes, I am trying to put them in a scroll box but half of them aren't there and I tried putting them in seperate boxes but I can't get one of them to show up. If you wouldn't mind I could use some advice. P.S. I'm Fett 1138 (HoloNet Transceiver) 15px I don't know what's going on but my computer logs me off every time I log on.

GH-7

You objected to this article as an FA on its Inq page. Solus says he has since addressed your concerns. When you have time, could you check if your objection still applies? It is currently the only thing holding it back from FA status. Cheers. --Eyrezer 12:53, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

  • It still seems redundant to me, especially the part where both sections discuss the droid's three arms. Some of that information could probably be moved to the other section, or maybe those two sections could be merged. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:10, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
    • I added your comment to the Inq page, so Solus can see it. --Eyrezer 01:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
      • Hey. I reworked the sections on this article if you'd like to have another work. It should not overlap anymore, but the prose may not be fantiastic. Sorry for bugging you. --Eyrezer 05:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
        • Lol, yes I saw this, if that's what the update was for. I'm actually reading/editing it right now. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:39, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
          • Cool. --Eyrezer 05:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

If you have five seconds

Can you delete a picture for me? I put "speedy" on it, but that was a few hours ago. Also I'm not sure I necessarily understad how deletion works. Either way, I put the image up, its a user page image...And now I'd like for it to be deleted. I'm not on very good terms with any of the other moderators (not cos there's anything I've done wrong, but rather because I haven't made contact with any of them really.) so I thought I should ask if you could deal with it. Thanks if you can. Thanks if you can't. The image is File:Jago.JPG

Laptops

  • I'm going to be bringing along a pair of 1990s-era laptops to C IV. Time and assistance permitting, I'm going to get a friend to help me get a Linux distro on them; otherwise, they're going to be coming with Windows 95 and/or 98. If these are going to be at all useful, bring along a CD with any software/dumps/tarballs/other things that would be handy to have on them. If they're NOT going to be useful, feel free to point at me and laugh at me when I show up with them. I doubt I'll be checking my talk page again before I leave, so if you need to get in touch with me, you can ask Riffsyphon for my cell number. jSarek 06:31, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
    • So what ever happened to those laptops? —Xwing328(Talk) 04:58, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
      • One turned out to have a broken CD-ROM drive, so I couldn't do jack with it. The other one my friend tried to get to work, realized that it had so little memory not even a stripped down version of a modern Linux distro would run on it, and basically said "even if I get an older distro, there's no way in hell there's enough memory to run it, a database program, and a modern browser all at the same time." Knowing that there was no way they'd be in any way useful even if you did manage to burn the software, I left them behind, as they were awfully heavy to bring to use as paperweights. jSarek 08:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Coding

I was wondering if you could help me with some coding. here is what I've done so far. But currently the width of the darker blue boxes is not static. When the text in the four boxes changes, the width adjusts. Can you fix that? --Eyrezer 04:37, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I'm working on a new droid (user: TC-14), but I don't know how to, and don't have the time, probably, to upload his data stuff. I was wondering if you could help me out with it. Thanks, Jediknight19bby 01:04, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how you plan on having a droid help you with sourcing, but if you're serious about this, see User:Xwing328/Pywikipedia, and be sure to read Wookieepedia:Droids if you haven't already. • Hey Chack! I just did a copyedit of it, and I'd say it's up to par again. I didn't look at the references though...is it fully sourced? —Xwing328(Talk) 18:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

GA's

Hey Xwing, I was just curious: Does an article have to be nominated for at least a week, with five votes for and no objections, to be considered a GA? Or as soon as it gets five votes, no obj's, it's a GA? I'm just curious because according to the GA nom page, it's after a week...and that's what I've been going by. Clarification would be great :D, Cheers. Greyman(Paratus) 04:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah, it's supposed to be a week to prevent vote abuse. I guess I've been kinda lax on that rule, sorry. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Winter Celchu

Hi Xwing, you were so kind as to help with Winter a few months ago when I was working on her. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out again. On her FA nomination Atarumaster asked for more details from Mandatory Retirement which A) I don't have and B) even if I did, I'm in France. Could you possibly work on the article? If not let me know ASAP and I'll try to make a go of it based on the seekrit online versions of the comics... - breathesgelatinTalk 11:47, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Salut Breathes, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. This is my first time on all week. I only have digital copies of Mandatory Retirement, and I'm not sure how much time I'll have this week. I'll take a look at it right now, so hopefully I can make a few improvements. If it's easier for you, I can email you the copies so you wouldn't have to read them online. Bonne nuit! —Xwing328(Talk) 03:21, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Bot work

I have a list of requests for your droid. Mine doesn't work yet and Jaymach is too lazy.

  • Replace File:Oldsith.jpg]] with File:Oldsith.png
  • Replace File:Mandskull.jpg with File:JaingHead.svg
  • Replace File:Republican_Emblem.gif and File:Galactic_Republic.JPG with File:Republican_Emblem.png

Thanks! -- Darth Culator (Talk) 00:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

  • The others should be done too, but the links haven't refreshed yet. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:40, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Vandal

Hello, Xwing328, could you please ban this user: Fvasconcellos? He's vandalized several articles. Thank you. Jesus Freak NK says NK's 'mazin' articles 16:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

rabbit

Could you do a search for "rabbit" in your text files of the novels etc? I'm curious as to how often it pops up. --Eyrezer 12:29, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, I didn't find much at all. Nothing in the novels, but one or two sources. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks. What were the sources? --Eyrezer 06:43, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Admin Age

  • Hey, Xwing328, I was wondering what age you have to be to be an administrator. I saw that the majority of votes were under 18, but I believe that to be to restrictive. I'm 14 and I was wondering if it had been decided that you HAD to be 18. I'm on the Wookiepedia ALL the time and I try to do as much as I can to improve and make the Wookipedia the best source of Star Wars since the Databank. I do not know what it is like to be an administrator, but I'd like to. I was just wondering. Thanks! Vezz801 20:09, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Nevermind. I just saw that you HAVE to be 18. Thanks anyway, I'll just wait four more years. Vezz801 20:14, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - I've been out of town. Yes, you're right that you have to be 18. Thanks for continuing to contribute!

References

Well, the reason those were added in the inforbox is evidenced in your edit; namely, the weird [1];"> thing at the top. Note the difference between the two versions:

My edit

Your edit

Culator was the one that suggested (correctly) that that would fix the issues the standard <ref> tag creates on my XJ-6 airspeeder article, and I've been aiding others that have the same problem (Death Star is another).

Is there any particular reason I shouldn't be using those in the infoboxes? Jorrel 20px Fraajic 17:28, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Ah, ok. Makes sense now. Can it be used like that from now on? Jorrel 20px Fraajic 06:55, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Technical request

Hi, just to let you know, that the page you requested to customise a section of Special:MultipleUpload is now active. The page is at MediaWiki:Multiplefileuploadsummary. -- sannse (talk) 20:10, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh cool! Thanks sannse! That page works better already than with the <br>oken summary from the original page ;) —Xwing328(Talk) 20:52, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Computer

I just wanted to thank you for (most likely) unintentionally resparking my Gundark's-fueled War on Stubs. I had become kind of lax in my little mission, and your edit caused me to check why I was watching the Computer article and discover my edit summary from earlier this month. In any case, thanks again! --School of Thrawn 101 05:05, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

FAN Objection

Hey Xwing, I believe I've addressed your objection to Kith Kark. If you could review it, and strike as needed, it would be appreciated :) Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 21:38, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Whistler

Hey, Xwing, could you have Whistler run through and remove all spaces surrounding em dashes? That'd be a great help, thanks. Havac 18:15, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Havac! Somehow I missed this message. I'll go add it to the script. —Xwing328(Talk) 18:38, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Episode I Adventures

I'm just wondering Xwing, if you have access to the Episode I Adventures books. It's just that I need someone with them to help me out a bit with the Rugor Nass article. Thanks, Thefourdotelipsis 08:19, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Only the first three, and he doesn't appear to be in those. Sorry. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey Xwing, we are having an meeting for Inqs soon, and your attendance/input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 02:23, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Sourcing images

Just to clarify, when it comes to screenshots from the Droids cartoon series, we want the source to be the specific episode, rather than just the series. Regards, --Eyrezer 05:53, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I know. I guess I just figured something was better than nothing, since I didn't know the specific one. My apologies. —Xwing328(Talk) 15:54, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Lol, that is true. --Eyrezer 22:15, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
      • Have a look at this edit. I've noticed a couple of times Whistler has done this. I think it occurs if the |author is before the |source. --Eyrezer 23:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
        • Hmm, I noticed this before, but I still haven't found a way around it. Hopefully the script is worth more than the trouble it's causing. I'll look into some more fixes soon. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:54, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
          • Hehe. It's funny how things just come to you sometimes. The fix is actually pretty easy. We'll see how well it works. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
            • I'll have to take your word for it! I have no idea how the bots operate, all I know is that it works! There are a couple of times I've done work that I now realise a bot could have done and so realise useful they are. Keep up the good work. --Eyrezer 10:03, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey thanks for creating System :-) --Azizlight 13:38, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Information template help

I'm trying to get the info template to work on Futurepedia and it's presenting me with a template form that is unalterable and it is bugging me how to make it work. Could you check it out and see what's wrong with it? Link is w:c:bttf:Template:Information. [EDIT: It's working on one image page but blank on another.] -- Riffsyphon1024 21:26, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

  • It looks like you might need some of the css code from MediaWiki:Common.css. Right now, I know you don't have the stuff for the rounded top and bottom templates. So you'll probably need to copy over the rtop, rbottom, and any other infobox classes that you don't have yet. Let me know if that helps. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:33, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Also, you were using capital letters for the field names (ex: Description=). They are case-sensitive and are currently lowercase in the template. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:37, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Dave Land

You sure Dave Land's real name is David? - Lord Hydronium 05:31, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Unless they're two different people who do the same job, yes. It's in multiple different issues of the comics I added to his page. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
    • OK, I just wanted to make sure he had actually been called "David". Thanks for obliging me. - Lord Hydronium 05:57, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey Genome4824, is this picture a picture that you took yourself? Otherwise, can you please list the source on the image page? Thanks a bunch! —Xwing328(Talk) 15:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Picture request, if possible ;)

Hey Xwing. I was curious if you had a good copy of Star Wars Legacy 4: Noob? I noticed it on your collection subpage, but was unsure if you had it or not since it struck through. However, if you do have it, I'm looking for some cleaner/better quality scans of the following:

  • :File:Harkas.jpg *:File:Harkas3.jpg *:File:Harkas2.jpg *:File:Harkas and Trask on Ossus.jpg

According to Imp's objection to Harkas on the FAN page, the first two images are distorted. The second two he said he could let slip by, but would ideally like to see better scans. I only have an ecopy of it, and it's not the best there is. If you're able to help out, it would be appreciated. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 15:07, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Greyman. Sorry, but I don't have that issue. The struck-through ones on my page are the ones I don't have yet. I don't see what's wrong with those two images, and all I have is a low-quality scan of it, too. Good luck! —Xwing328(Talk) 18:20, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

327?

User:Xwing327. Hmm. —Graestan(This party's over) 05:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Lol, I've been wondering how long it would take for a copycat nickname to appear. Hopefully this one will be a legitimate user. Thanks for the warning. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
