One of the proposed Star Wars Merchandise Wiki logos
Actual Request — feel free to comment in the comments section
So, I went and did it: I requested a SW Merchandise Wiki (with some proding on IRC). I'm assuming it won't be made a new wiki for another few weeks... there's 298 some wikis in Open Requests, but better to start now than wait even longer.
So, I come here for a few things: at the recommendation of User:GHe, I'm coming here first to ask for at least 20 people to pledge that they will work on this wiki, adding info on board games, Hasbro and Kenner action figures, LEGOs, trading cards, movies/DVDs (not an actual article about the plot, etc, but about the objects) those little miniatures, and maybe computer/video games, including game mechanics articles and whatnot.

- Gasps. Well, I think we have a new logo winner! The one on the right is most excellent. And, somehow you managed to put my exact idea together and make that. Thanks! Jorrel

The result of the debate was
It has already been decided NOT to place every form of merchandise on this wiki. See Forum:CT Archive/Action figures and Forum:CT Archive/Action figures - Revised. This vote was pointless to begin with, as it was just meant for staff. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Place your support for or against the new Merchandise Wiki.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE
This vote was originally meant for staff at Wookieepedia to decide whether or not this SW Merchandising Wiki should be a "sister project" with Wookieepedia - not a place to vote yay or nay on the idea of a SW Merchandise Wiki. However, because this vote has taken this odd curve, I am going make another request for affiliation, FOR ADMINS AND STAFF ONLY.Jorrel

- Im feeling that it will just be like a battlefront wiki--completely unnecesary, very small, poorly designed, I just dont feel its worht the risk, besides, all that stuff could be found on this wiki or toywiki. Sorry, no. RC 2413 06:19, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Wait, the SW fanon wiki is an affiliate? I thought aside from sharing a few users and hosting, we were considering ourselves officially unaffiliated. —Silly Dan (talk) 23:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm... I thought that, since we usually point users towards it with fanon, we were affiliated. Well, that's what I mean with the SW Merchandise wiki - all merchandise-related articles be pointed, at least in External Links, towards the SW Merchandise wiki. Jorrel
Fraajic 23:54, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- SWFanon is not really an affiliate right now, it's where Wookieepedia dumps its problem users. BubTalk 06:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

- I see little reason for a merchandise wiki for SW, since most of the saga consists of merchandise. Why not just keep it here? VT-16 16:20, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think we should only put the figure info on EU characters on wookieepedia. We don't need a whole other wiki for that. Grand Admiral Nick Vos [Holonet]
- Like Jorrel said...and anyways, the nearly unanimous result of this Consensus Track said "Non-redundant canon information in 'Merchandising' section under 'Behind the scenes' and link to separate wiki". —Xwing328(Talk) 19:14, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- That is a great idea! I was gonna suggest it myself, but you beat me to it! If possible, how about adding a price guide. I've got a price guide book I got last year, but it may not be up to date, it was made on '05. I hope it works out good! Supergeeky1 23:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- If this is the case, maybe all real-world SW things should go into it's own wiki and Wookieepedia has everything in-universe... DAWUSS 02:29, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going neutral on this one, since I'm fine with large topics relating to Star Wars being split up (such as with the KOTOR Wiki I founded, and the non-canon Sith Lords Wiki, the Jedi Wiki, and so on), though I don't think a Wiki should be used for merchandising.
