- Hey, Xwing, the FAN seems to be languishing a bit. Out of curiosity, are you still planning on working on it? If you've been busy, that's fine—just wondering if you were still interested. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 01:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hey, sorry, I just got back in town Friday. Yes, I should be finding time to work on it in the coming week or two. I hardly had any time over the last month being gone, with finals, and other priorities. I'm sure you know how that goes. Anyways, hopefully I can fix it up soon. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:07, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, sounds good. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 20:22, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
End of 2008 status report: Wormie
- Just in case you're curious as to where this little project stands, here are the statistics:
- Total length: 309 kilobytes, which is 90 KB longer than the actual Luke Skywalker article. Does not include material on the second page.
- 110 sources crossed off the expansion list.
- Unique references: 143
- Net growth over 2008: 180 KB.
I realize that the original goal I set—which was to nominate Luke for GA by the end of 2008—was not accomplished. For one, I didn't know exactly how much stuff there is out there on Luke. Turns out, about half of all continuity. Two, I've been distracted with other, smaller projects, particularly over the past few months. However, I've not given up on this idea, and I'm hoping to get a lot more of it done in 2009! Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 20:22, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Succession boxes
Hi, Xwing. Yes, I would like to have the parenthesis installed into the boxes for the 'predecessor' and 'successor' years. The reason they were left out was because I am not privy to the exact code that needs to be written so they do not appear should those fields be left blank. Any help you could provide would be tremendous. Thank you, sir. — Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 13:41, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing that for me, Xwing. Originally, I had also planned on a color option, but I can discuss that in greater detail with you the next time we are both in IRC. It is nothing imperative or even needed at the moment. It was more for the purpose of greater customization further down the road. Have a great one; and, thanks again! — Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 01:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
nameless categories
Hey Xwing328, I've just seen some "nameless"-categories, and wanted to ask if your bot could recategorize the content of these categories into new categories. The old categories are:
- Category:Images of nameless Sith
- Category:Images of nameless Jedi
- Category:Images of nameless individuals
And the new ones:
- Category:Images of unidentified Sith
- Category:Images of unidentified Jedi
- Category:Images of unidentified individuals
I'd appreciate if you could do this. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 11:51, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

FYI
- There's been some issues with {{Battle}}, just so you know. GT's been working on it, but apparently the auto-sizing is off. Or something. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 00:21, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- See Battle of Bothawui (Galactic Civil War). The div sticks to the width property, but the table inside it apparently stretches to fit the text in it, ignoring the width and causing some overlapping with the article text. Green Tentacle (Talk) 00:26, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, the same thing happens with anything like {{Character infobox}} if you put a long enough word in it. I'll try to think of something. —Xwing328(Talk) 00:55, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- It looks like the width on .infobox in MediaWiki:Common.css is causing the problem. I'm pretty sure this can be safely removed and everything would work, but it would affect all infobox templates, so there might be some unforeseen side effect. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:16, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I've managed to get it working in both Firefox and IE7. It's still not perfect (the round top had to go along the way and it shrinks horizontally as well as vertically when you click hide) but it seems to render properly so I think this is as good as it'll get unless you can find a better fix. Whistler request
Me again. Sorry to bother you but {{Hyperspace}} needs some changes that I'm hoping Whistler can help me with. You modified the template a while ago to allow for pages at 'starwars.com/fans/hyperspace/' as well as 'starwars.com/hyperspace/member/' but not all Hyperspace content fits into either of these now. Fists of Ion, for example, is at 'starwars.com/hyperspace/fiction/'. The only constant is the 'starwars.com' bit, so I want to change the pre-filled part of the URL in the template to that and then force people to supply the rest. This will make it a lot more flexible, but leaves us needing to change all the pages that already use it. Would it be possible for Whistler to change the URL parameters appropriately based on whether or not the new parameter is set? Thanks. Green Tentacle (Talk) 01:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Should be possible. I'm not feeling to good right now, but I should get to it this weekend. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:11, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Hoth (comic)
I was thinking about doing some editting to Hoth (comic) page and then renominating it to for GA status. Since it was your GA, I feel I should ask you just incase you're planning on doing the editting yourself. If you permit me to do the editting, I'll look forward for your support when I nominate the page. Kilson Likes PIE 11:22, 08 April 09 (UTC)
The new Triage system
After the Inquisitorius' most recent meeting, it was decided to enact a triage system for dealing with the large number of nominations on the FAN page. The Triage page has been set up in the Inquisitorius forum to make it easier for Inqs to see what nominations are best focused on for clearing out the nomination page. This is a tool for helping Inqs combine their efforts on articles, and shouldn't be taken as mandatory; as usual, any Inq is free to review any article they want. - Lord Hydronium 03:21, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Combined Clan Center Building GA nom
Hello Xwing, I'm not sure if you've seen yet, but I've made some... controversal objections to your Combined Clans Center Building GA nom. Greastan thought I was out of line by saying that your nom was lacking in information, and if so, I apologize if I offended you in anyway by putting up that objection. My objection was meant towards the article you nominated, not towards you personally or anything, and I don't see how that's out of line. I realize that I'm not an AC member, but from my perspective, the article is lacking in information, especially in the history section. My objections still stand, and I would appreciate it if you could address them the next time you have a free moment. Kilson Likes PIE 00:59, 20 April 09 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I don't take it personally. But Greastan was right, much of that information you were asking for just plain isn't available. —Xwing328(Talk) 01:35, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I understand, and I should point out that I have not read neither novel in the Hand of Thrawn duology, so I was unsure what exactly what was going on in the article. Next time, I'll try to make objections to articles that I know more about. I probably exaggerated when I said the nom needs a lot of information, and I'm sorry for that. It just needs some context here and there. Also, don't worry, I can wait until you've finished your project or anything else you're obligated to do outside of this site. Kilson 02:27, 30 May 09 (UTC)
Template trouble
Have a look at Skine Bounty Hunter College. In the source list, the Journal template is used in conjunction with {{!}} yet for whatever reason it is no longer working. Are you able to fix it? --Eyrezer 12:11, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, you just needed a normal pipe instead of {{!}}, because there's an optional "formatted" field on the Journal template that you weren't using. Regards. (update) From the looks of it, when I need a name added that field, it made it so that using the exclamation mark makes the template think all of that is the first part of a link, since you can't have two pipes in one link. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:30, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for that. It may happen quite a bit. Is it possible to give Whistler a run through them? --Eyrezer 03:33, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
File: to File:
To answer your question from IRC when I wasn't actually there but forgot to set awayness: Yes, actually I did have a system. I ran all current FA and GA nominations, then all current FAs and GAs, then all former ones. Then I ran all the pages that hadn't already been done from the list of the 500 longest, then the 500 most revised, then the 500 most visited, then the 500 most categorized, then the 500 "Most popular articles (from database)" whatever that means. Basically just to introduce editors to the system, to go to the most likely pages to be edited or source-viewed and say "this is how MediaWiki works now." If you want to run all pages in sequence now, go ahead, but I don't particularly want to occupy either of my computers with that at the moment. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:09, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Imperial Era -> Imperial Period
Hey Xwing328, I just wanted to ask if your bot could help me with some moves and the subsequent link fixes. The term "Imperial Era" is an OOU term, but we still have six pages with this term in the title. Now I wanted to ask if your bot could first move them to the IU term "Imperial Period" and then fix all the links. I'm not sure if bots can move, so if this isn't possible, I'd have no problem moving them myself, but I'd be thankful if your bot could fix all the links. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 19:07, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- The bot can move pages, but in a case like this, it's easier to move them by hand. Fixing the links won't be a problem. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:15, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

The new INQCON system is now in effect. For details on this new tool, please review the linked page. Need some help
Hi, Xwing. You seem to be the right person to ask about all this technical stuff. On one of other Wikis that I contribute to, there is a need for a battle template with five factions. I wanted to use the one from Wookieepedia, but is supports only four factions, and it is too complicated for me to modify it. So, could you please provide me with a source code for a five-way battle infobox? I would greatly appreciate it. QuiGonJinnThere's always a bigger fish. 20:52, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- That template took a lot of work and there's no simple source code version of it. It relies on a ton of parsing statements, and honestly, I don't have the time to further modify it. Sorry :/ —Xwing328(Talk) 21:57, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

- Good work on the template, Xwing. I just have one small complaint, probably not worthy of the whole CT. When the section is "hidden", but the subsection TOC is still there, clicking on any of those subsections doesn't do anything. Maybe the subsection TOC should be hidden as well? Just a suggestion. - Esjs(Talk) 21:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey. I saw you have Jedi Apprentice Special Edition: The Followers listed in your collection. I'm trying to address an outstanding FAN objection and I'm having trouble obtaining this book. After the Consensus Track decided to adopt your solution to the overabundance of appearances, I decided to go ahead and try to convert Star Wars: Dark Forces to the new method. Hi,Xwing328! I noticed in your list of the sources you own that you mentioned you have Star Wars Insider 41. I need the article "The Lost Cut of Star Wars" for an article I'm working on. Would you be able to help me out in getting some info from it? I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks, ~ SavageBob 06:43, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Source help
I noticed from your source page that you have all the Journals, the three from TPM and three from ANH. I'm looking to do a timeline project of the movies, and I was wondering if I could get your help; I need any time cues that the Journals have, like where it says a scene goes to the next day, or that night, or a week later or whatever. A poster on TFN mentions that the Queen Amidala one says that Palpatine arrives on Naboo a few days after the end of the battle, for example. If you could provide any help, it would be appreciated. - Lord Hydronium 05:17, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't need Anakin's or Amidala's. Help with any of the others would still be appreciated. - Lord Hydronium 11:16, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Heh, it's been awhile since I read those. I'm traveling still (hence my lack of recent activity) so it's gonna be hard to help for awhile. Also, unfortunately those books are at home for me, not school, but I'll check if I have a digital copy of them. I feel like I keep saying that to everybody... Sorry! Good luck with the project! —Xwing328(Talk) 15:22, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- OK, if you can't it's no problem; I'm sure I can find others with them. Thanks anyway. - Lord Hydronium 19:47, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Move some categories
Hello Xwing, I just wanted to ask if your bot could move two categories. The categories Category:Unknown gender and Category:Individuals of unknown species are as far as I know the only remaining categories that use the word "unknown" (except those with "Unknown Regions"), so it would be great if you could move them to "unidentified" as it's the standard here. Are you able to do this? Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 17:02, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
- Sure thing. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:05, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
- So I see (after the fact) that there were already Category:Individuals of unidentified species and Category:Individuals of unknown species. Apparently they were supposed to be different? —Xwing328(Talk) 17:25, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
- Great. Thanks for the move. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 20:37, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

Hi X-wing. I see you have Insider 60. Could you tell me what Who's Who in Jabba's Palace has to say about Attark? Thanks --Eyrezer 08:25, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Hey Eyrezer, unfortunately it's at home with the majority of "my collection," but come graduation in late December, I'll have full access to everything, since I've been getting a few requests like this. I'll also check if I have it tonight because I have several scans of Who's Who articles. —Xwing328(Talk) 19:29, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
