  • Regarding Coruscant and the Core Worlds: I can't seem to find any confirmation of this statement, but it's probably because I'm not looking carefully enough. The book is actually available through a website, so you're welcome to check the book for yourself. CC7567 (talk) 04:54, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

Redlinked years

Indeed, I've been going through the relevant sources for the year links deleted so far, and removing the erroneous ones, which so far does seem to be the overwhelming majority of them. Whoever put them in did some very shoddy research, to the point that it almost seemed like they had an agenda for dating some of these events. In any event, if the dates in question do exist in a reference somewhere, it wasn't any of the ones listed, and we would want to have that reference added to the relevant articles anyway. If you come across anything in your efforts, feel free to re-add any year with appropriate attribution. An keep up the good work, you're doing a bang-up job with dates! Quick question

Hey Imperators! Just a quick question. On the page Tedonian wine it says there should be more categories. But, I've already added some categories. Does it need more categories or has the notice just not been taken off? If you know the answer I'd appreciate it if you let me know.Thanks. Oya! Cal Jedi 20:46, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Battles, skirmishes etc.

Hey Imperators, allow me to provide a couple examples. Let's say hypothetically that a novel is written about the travels of the Yuuzhan Vong from their galaxy to the Star Wars galaxy. And say that the novel takes place 46 years before the Vong invasion, which palces it in the midst of the Clone Wars. Does that make the events that take place in the Yuuzhan Vong novel a part of the Clone Wars? Absolutely not! It's just a different conflict taking palce at the same time. Another example: let's say that during the Galactic Civil War, two swoop gangs attack each other in the underlevels of Coruscant. Does that make that battle a part of the Galactic Civil War? Only if the swoop gangs are affiliated with participants of the Galactic Civil War. If they aren't, then it's just an isolated conflict. The skrimish at Yinta Lake spaceport is in the same situation. Sure, there was a Jedi involved, but the skirmish itself was only about one smuggling company trying to prevent another company's cargo from being shipped. The skirmish itself—what the two sides were fighting over—had absolutely nothing to do with the Great Galactic War. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 21:13, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

GGW template

Hey Imperators—I noticed you moved Balmorra to the "others" section in the GGW template, and I wanted to give you a quick explanation as to why I moved it back, and why it is where it currently is. While we don't know the exact start and end dates for the battle, we know it lasted a long time—it began very early in the war (Hylo Visz was a youngling when the Sith originally invaded) and continued up until the end of the war. I placed it in the template alongside the other final events of the war, including the Battles on Dantooine, Coruscant, and the Alderaan conference. Hope this clears things up. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 11:30, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'd noticed that as well, and have come up with a few (speculative)explanations. The first, and most likely, is that someone made a mistake. The artists for the timeline needed a ship to represent the Jedi Order, and they were unaware of the story behind the Vanguard presented in Smuggler's Vanguard. Another explanation could be that the ones in the timeline differed from the ones in Smuggler's Vanguard in some way, making the ones in SV technically new, but still similar to the ones in Onslaught of the Sith Empire. OR it could be that the Fall of Korriban actually takes place later in the war, closer to the Battles at Bothawui, and that Gnost-Dural included it in that first timeline for the sake of categorization (he lists a number of battles in Timeline 6, and because its dated we have to assume they occur in that year, but I get the feeling that the list was covering a period of several years in the war's beginning). Hopefully, the next cinematic trailer, which apparently depicts the fall of Korriban, will shed some light on the issue.Unsigned comment by Dark Lord Trayus (talk • contribs)

Re: That user...

Yep, just blocked the anon, and I'll block any more sockpuppet IPs that come up—unless someone else gets to them first. As for the article, it's not actually stated anywhere in that exact phrasing. WP:NOT good, but I think, for your specific purpose, Attribution is it a bit clearer. WP:ATT describes what does and doesn't count as an official source, and makes it pretty clear that Wookieepedia does not count, so I'd suggest pointing to that one. :) Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 17:47, April 12, 2011 (UTC)

RE: Kashi Mer Dynasty

Sorry it took me so long, I had a very hard time finding were the Kashi Mer were in the book. The only date that can be inferred about the Kashi Mer Dynasty in the Tales of the Jedi Companion is that is was still in existance as of 4000 BBY. However, the article on the Kashi Mer Dynasty says that this was later contradicted.--Exiledjedi 21:36, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Re: "Yes" or "1"?

Hi, Imperators. I don't think there is any decision on whether to use yes or 1; it's just a personal preference of mine that I've seen being used in most status articles. The only thing that really matters is whether the parameter has a value—you could probably use |hideb=no and get the same result as with yes or 1. Cheers, 1358 (Talk) 16:40, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for helping an new user.

Thanks for reminding me! I thought it was "Dr.James Qail Uthan"

Very important message.

Dear Imperators II,

I am new here and I was wondering if you could, in moderate terms, enlighten me a bit... You see, I currently contribute to a whole bunch of wikis and I know that each and every one of them have there own allotted style, way of doing things, and how they approach editing pages, but more importantly, what they're looking for is different too depending on the site. So, if you could give me an overview on what this site looks for in a page after it is edited, I would greatly appreciate that... For instance, on the powers and abilities heading, or as it is called here, skills and abilities, what is appropriate to add and what is not. The reason I asked that is because, depending on the wiki, it is different on what they look for on those types of headings and I have run into that problem in the past, where I assumed that all were the same but I got a wake-up call when someone reverted my edit saying something like, "Please don't use so strong adjectives and we don't edit that way here." So, with that said, I don't want all my edits to be reverted that's why I'm asking all of this. Also, I have seen all the movies and have played a lot of Star Wars games, but how should I edit pages, as I haven't read the comics of the show and haven't fully read all of the graphic novels about it.

Raith Sienar

Hey there, Imperators,

I was hoping you could tell me which specific parts of Rogue Planet you had in mind when you added the update tag to Raith Sienar. I'd like to take care of the update, but as he has a huge role in the book and it seems on the surface like that role is entirely covered, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks! Cheers. Menkooroo 11:38, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • Ah, OK, cool. Thanks for the info. :) An update tag is fair game if there's any missing info at all, so the whole "ten years ago" thing is good, but yeah, missing links are definitely a quick do-it-yourself-fix. Thanks! Menkooroo 11:54, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

RE:Sriluurian raisin

Unfortunately, we can't have speculation here. If no source specifically says the food is from the planet, then it needs to be removed. For all we know, they could be called Sriluurian raisins because they look like the planet Sriluur or that native Sriluurians really like them. <- Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 20:54, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Serraknife

I'd say so. The novel provides absolutely no information on the object, so while it certainly may have been a kind of knife, adding it to the article would be speculation. Darra Thel-Tanis article

I noticed that it said you were the person who last correct an article on Jedi Quest Padawan Darra Thel-Tanis. She was once mistakenly referred to as Darra Haariden and as for the passage about her being wounded on Nora, that was Watsons way of covering for the fact that she used the planet, on which Darra had been wounded, for her last name (this was the fourth book of the series). So that is actually kind of a technicality. I just think that it doesn't belong there in the article. I think there was already a mention about it at the bottom of the article in the Behind the Scenes section. If it isn't already there, I believe that that is where it should be moved to, if that is alright with you. It is a bit ambiguous, I know. However, for the rest of the series she is referred to as Darra Thel-Tanis, not Darra Haariden. I think the 9th book was the only place that was written in. I say all of this respectfully and mean no insults. Thank you.173.28.161.241 12:48, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Timeline

  • Yes, the entire War of the Gungan Tribes chronology actually takes place circa 2575 BBY, not 3032 BBY. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 18:52, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

3032 BBY

Hey, I think this page should be deleted, as that event takes place before 4,000 BBY (the Rise of the Empire beginning in 1,000 BBY). Unsigned comment by Eledhwen (talk • contribs)

  • Ok, sorry about the deletion part, I didn't know how! However, the book I cited could also narrate in an out-of-universe perspective. So it is, I agree, difficult to tell. However, the choice of words in this case would be very bad, as it leads to confusion, which leads me to my initial hypothesis of 4,000 BBY. What do you think? In any case, thanks for the change.--Eledhwen 19:53, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Timelines

Timelines, for whatever reason, are written in present tense. I don't know why, but I'm not going to argue with English grammar. Thanks for the concern though. Karohalva 23:23, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't recall changing any GAs, but then again I don't spend too much time staring at the top right corner of web pages. Most events listed in timeline articles were already present tense, so I just was fixing some anomalies. Feel free to change whatever you dislike though. Wassail! Karohalva 01:25, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Imperators. This is the first time I've nominated a Comprehensive article, so I really need some help. So, thanks for your suggestions. About the expansion, what else could I put in it. Should I put more in the history section? And on the nomination page someone said I should put where Coruscant is. Does he mean where is it in the galaxy? Or does he mean something else? Darra Thel-Tanis

Look, I know we have different view points on Darra Thel-Tanis' article, but I made some changes that have BOTH of our view point in there and it is a good medium between what each of us views as right and wrong. Just please, for the interest of civility and peace, leave it alone. I look in the star wars encyclopedia you had listed as source number four, and there is no mention of her in the list whatsoever, so if nothing else please leave that out because that part is blatantly inaccurate. And next time let us save some time and irritation and just answer if a message is sent between the two of us. Peace.173.28.161.241 13:01, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Tense in year infoboxes

Hey Imperators! Yeah, it is wierd; the MOS should probably be modified to specify with certainty that you can use present tense in infoboxes, or else that you must use past tense in infoboxes. I was going based on the precedent of year article GAs (such as 17,000 BBY, 590 BBY, and 902 BBY) which use the present tense in the infobox. Usually, year and event infoboxes leave out words like "was" or "is" and thus avoid the tense issue altogether, but when they don't do so, they seem to stick with the present. This might be somthing worth CTing, though, as it is kind of contradictory to our common practices. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 14:47, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
