Plot summary

Return to the galaxy

On Dathomir Sig Greebling, Darth Devastator, Ahsoka Tano and Servo exit the portal into the conclave grounds. Servo helps Tano to her feet and she asks the droid not to tell anyone about it. Meanwhile, the unconscious Sig and Dev experience a Force vision. They find themselves inside a throne room with a cloaked Solitus, who tells the youths that he has watched over them for a long time. He offers Dev a place as his apprentice. Sig objects and attempts to reason with Solitus, saying that understands the pain of being trapped inside the Forcehold for eons.

Solitus counters that Sig has only been inside the Forcehold for moments. Solitus says he has been inside the Forcehold long enough to learn secrets and powers beyond their wildest dreams. Solitus reveals that he has been creating a super-rift to unmake the entire galaxy with one fell swoop. When Sig objects, Solitus says that nothing can beat oblivion and touches Sig, causing his spirit to reenter his body and awaken on Dathmoir. Dev also awakes at the same time.

Sig warns Tano and Servo that Solitus is creating a super-rift to unmake the rest of the galaxy. Dev also offers to come with them but reveals that his motive for stopping Solitus is to rule the galaxy. When Sig questions Dev's hidden motives, Dev growls at his younger brother. Tano intervenes and convinces the two Force sensitive brothers to use their Force Building powers to build a starship. After some arguments, the two brothers settle on a snowspeeder starship hybrid. Servo christens the ship The Force Burner. When Sig says they need to find Jedi Bob and Yesi Scala, Sig reveals that he has planted a homing beacon on Bobarian Afol's starfighter. Sig deduces that is how Servo found them on the Death Star and expresses hope that the others have come up with a brilliant plan.

Two reunions

Meanwhile, Afol along with Scala, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa and Jedi Vader travel aboard the Dark Falcon to a nebula near the planet Naboo. Organa thinks that they should have caught up with Solitus by now while Scala says that Solitus' destruction of the galaxy is making navigation difficult. They are pursued by an Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter. Exiting the nebula, they find themselves in a debris field where they are pursued by more starfighters including an A-wing.

The Dark Falcon is knocked out by an ion cannon. Cassian Jeron Andor addresses the Dark Falcon and orders them to surrender to the Pirate Queen Padmé Amidala. Jedi Vader recognizes Amidala as his long-lost wife while Organa and Skywalker deduce that she is their mother. Scala remarks that the Skywalkers are messy. The pirates take them to the docks of Theed, which is filled with several vessels including the Khetanna. Afol, Scala and the Skywalker family are brought by their pirate captors into an ornate palace. Jedi Vader explains to his children that he met their mother a long time ago when he was a Jedi Padawan but parted ways because Amidala chose to pursue a piratical career.

At the end of the throne room, they are greeted by Pirate Queen Amidala and C-3PO, who has turned to piracy. He also introduces the buccaneer droid R2-D2, who electrocutes a blue Kowakian monkey-lizard. Organa tells Amidala about the threat of Solitus while Afol warns that the Naboo sector is next. Amidala orders that Skywalker and Organa be brought the deck since she is interested them. She orders that the other three be executed immediately.

The pirates depart with their captives on the Khetanna and several escort cargo skiffs. Afol asks if they are being fed to the sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon. Amidala reveals that she intends to feed Vader, Afol and Scala to a group of discarded Snoke clones who inhabit a pit. Afol senses something in the Force and braces himself.

R2-D2 throws the trio off the plank but they are rescued by the Greebling brothers in their new starship The Force Burner. Tano rides a starship resembling a GAT-12 Skipray. Dev exits The Force Burner in a speeder bike and uses his lightsaber to damage the engines of R2-D2's skiff, causing the occupants to fall into the Snoke clones' pit. Dev also attacks the Khetanna, causing a Gamorrean to fall into the Snoke pit.

A truce and new allies

Sig proposes a truce and tells Amidala that they need to talk. In Amidala's throneroom, the Greebling brothers tell her about the threat posed by Solitus. Dev says he admires Solitus's power and ambition. Afol and Dev argue but Sig prevents the fight from escalating. Sig appeals to the Pirate Queen for help but Amidala believes that they cannot help since they are pirates and unhinged droids. R2-D2 and C-3PO torture Servo by trying to burn his feet. Organa speaks to Amidala, saying that she finds strength in her.

Amidala is surprised to learn that Organa and Skywalker are her children. Amidala says she would like to get to know her children but believes that Solitus is too powerful for them. Sig proposes that they can attack Solitus while his guard his down. He explains that Solitus needs his starship Oblivion Runner to create the rift. Tano warns that Solitus has a massive fleet of droid ships defending him and that they are outnumbered. Scala offers Sig's services as a Force Builder.

Dev's bitterness

Demonstrating his skills to Amidala, Dev and Afol, Sig builds a BB-wing, describing it as a cross between a starfighter and a droid. Dev compliments his brother, describing as Siggy briefly before addressing him as Greebling. When Amidala asks if he can build more, Sig says that he and Dev can build more starships. Afol warns that they cannot trust a Sith because he might sabotage them. Sig believes that Dev has changed and suggests that Afol could be his teacher once they have defeated Solitus. Afol counters that Dev is only helping them because it suits his interests, and warns that Sith treachery is legendary.

Dev denies that he will betray them and angrily walks away, telling them to build their ships themselves. Sig is upset with Afol for antagonizing his brother. Dev takes a walk in the harbor and vents about Afol. He encounters Servo, who is sitting by a dock overlooking the harbor. Servo tells Dev that he is sad because he misses the Viper probe droid whom he met inside the Forcehold. When Dev asks Servo what he knows about loss, the droid plays a holorecording of Dev encouraging his younger brother to climb down a rock on their homeworld of Fennesa. The two brothers hug each other.

In the present, Dev says that Sig and him can't have that. Shortly later, C-3PO and R2-D2 arrive with news that the attack on Solitus is beginning. Several pirates of various species climb aboard their starships. The Greeblings, Tano, Afol, Scala and Servo also board their starships. A shadowy figure with spidery legs boards the Dark Falcon.

The space battle

The Oblivion Runner orbits a Rift near a terrestrial world. A B1 battle droid informs Solitus that a fleet is exiting hyperspace. The Greebling brothers fly The Force Burner while Afol flies his starfighter. Scala and Servo fly the Dark Falcon while Skywalker and others fly BB-wings. Afol questions Dev's trustworthiness, prompting an angry outburst from the latter. Sig reassures his master that Dev is on their side.

Meanwhile, the shadowy figure reaches the Force containment cell containing Darth Rey, Darth Rose Tico, Darth Nubs, Darth Kit Fisto and the others. Tico smiles when she recognizes the unseen figure. Meanwhile, Solitus' lieutenant K-2SO dispatches a fleet of Vulture droids and Droid tri-fighters to meet Amidala's pirate fleet. Amidala joins the battle in the Khetanna, which is fitted with cannons on its sides. R2-D2, who is equipped with a jet pack and a large cannon, joins the dogfight and takes out several enemy fighters. Jedi Vader saves Tano from two pursuing enemy starfighters. As the Greebling brothers approach the Oblivion Runner, Dev encourages Sig to spin the ship in order to take out several enemy droid fighters.

The revenge of the Sith

Meanwhile, the Dark Falcon comes to a sudden halt. The freed Sith led by a spider Darth Jar Jar confront Scala and Servo, vowing to do terrible things to them. Jar Jar says he has upgraded himself with spidery legs. Scala and Servo try to convince the Sith that they are facing an existential battle but Rey is unmoved and orders the Sith to lock them in the brig. Hijacking the Falcon, Rey turns the ship's laser cannons on several BB-starfighters, taking out several pilots including Captain Phasma.

Over the intercom, Rey reveals that she and her Sith band have hijacked the Dark Falcon. Dev orders Rey to stand down but Rey reveals that she does not take orders from him anymore, regarding him as a traitor. The hijacked Falcon pursues The Force Burner. Afol tells the Greebling brothers they have to board the Oblivion Runner in order to stop Solitus. Dev convinces Sig to hit their starship's brakes. As they drift closer towards the Falcon, Darth Jar Jar aims the ship's top laser cannon at The Force Burner. Before the laser blast can hit them, Dev has Sig accelerate their ship. The stray laser cannon hits the right arm of the Oblivion Runner, causing an explosion that inflicts significant damage.

The showdown and Dev's choices

While R2-D2 boards the Dark Falcon through the hull, Afol along with the Greebling brothers fly their starships into the Oblivion Runner's hangar. The Greebling brothers fight several B1 battle droids in the hangar. Together with Afol, they fight their way into the throneroom. Solitus is almost finished opening the Rift. K-2SO confronts the Force wielders but Dev casts him aside. Solitus confronts his former Padawan for betraying him. Afol counters that Solitus betrayed everything he stood for.

Dev prepares to confront Solitus but the Force wielder uses the Force to form a dome consisting of metal sheets. Solitus traps Sig between two metal panels. Through telepathy, he learns that Afol declined Sig's invitation to be Dev's master. Solitus offers to train Dev, prompting Sig to break free and attempt to attack Solitus with his Force powers. Solitus uses the Force to push Sig towards hole leaking into space. Dev uses the Force to hold onto Sig. Afol attacks Solitus but his former master deflects his attack with the Force.

Solitus offers to train Dev, reminding him that Afol shows that the Jedi do not believe in forgiveness. He offers to teach Dev all the secrets of the Force. Hurt by Afol's earlier words, Dev sides with Solitus and uses the Force to hurl Afol. Dev tells Afol that he was right about him, to the horror of Sig. Saying there is no light left in him, Dev uses his Force building powers to close the hull breach. When Solitus asks Dev why he has chosen to spare his brother, Dev says that he wants him to suffer as he has.

Solitus banishes Afol and Sig into the Forcehold again and invites Dev to help him widen the Rift. Amidala's fleet along with Jedi Vader, the Sith, Scala, and Servo are sucked into the Forcehold, which consumes several nearby worlds and planetoids. Amidala and Organa embrace as they are engulfed by the Rift. Once the Rift has consumed their enemies, Solitus and Dev bask in the silence.
