LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is a four-episode animated series which was released on Disney+ on September 13, 2024,[1] along with its soundtrack.[2] A sequel series called LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past released on Disney+ on September 19, 2025.

Official description

In LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the entire Star Wars galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact called the Cornerstone from a hidden Jedi temple. He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends on Sig becoming the hero who can put all the pieces back together.[1]

Production

Development

Rebuild the Galaxy was written by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, who also served as the special's showrunners and executive producers. Lucasfilm senior vice president of Franchise Content & Strategy James Waugh also served as an executive producer. Other executive producers included Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Jill Wilfert, Jason Cosler, and Keith Malone. The special was directed by Chris Buckley with Daniel Cavey and Dan Langlois serving as producers.[1]

Casting

Voice cast members included Gaten Matarazzo as Sig Greebling, Tony Revolori as Dev Greebling/Darth Devastator, Bobby Moynihan as Jedi Bob, Marsai Martin as Yesi Scala, Michael Cusack as Servo, Ahmed Best as Darth Jar Jar and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.[1]

Release and reception

A teaser trailer was released on YouTube on May 6, 2024.[3] Its official trailer was released during the D23 fan event on August 10, 2024.[4] In addition, a teaser poster featuring the Rebuild the Galaxy logo, LEGO studs starfield, and the Cornerstone itself was also released at D23.[1]

During Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025, a second series entitled LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past was announced. Pieces of the Past released on Disney+ on September 19, 2025.[5]

Accolades

On November 18, 2025, the series was nominated for one Emmy Award: "Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for an Animated Program" ("Part Two").[6][7]

Adaptations and tie-in media

A subtheme of LEGO Star Wars sets based on Rebuild the Galaxy were scheduled to be released beginning on August 1, 2024.[8]
