Plot summary
A flashback
In the past, a younger Bobarian Afol asks his Master Solitus why they have travelled to the conclave site on Dathomir without informing the Jedi Council. Solitus replies that he is entitled to the secrets of the Force, which the Council has described as "forbidden knowledge." When Afol expresses shock that Solitus has a Sith holocron, Solitus counters that they cannot reject knowledge because of the source. Solitus intends to use the Sith Breakers' holocron to help unlock the Forcehold. He enlists Afol's help in opening the Forcehold, telling him that this is what he has trained him for.
Afol reluctantly complies and helps Solitus break and rebuild several stone pillars, unlocking a portal to the Forcehold. Solitus says that he intends to banish his opponents into the Forcehold and boasts about his ambitions. Afol apologizes to his master before pushing him inside the portal. An enraged and shocked Solitus asks what his Padawan has done.
Solitus returns
In the present, Solitus gazes into the hyperspace tunnel from the bridge of his starship Oblivion Runner, which resembles a Lucrehulk-class battleship with CR90 engines. The ship exits hyperspace above a barren move. His lieutenant K-2SO informs Solitus of their arrival. Solitus compliments K-2SO for his obedience, adding that in other versions of the galaxy he was a hero reprogrammed by the Rebellion. Solitus says he has spent eons gathering the lost secrets of the Force for the Dark Age, which he describes as the end of everything.
On a city in a snowy planet, Maul chats with Kuiil, telling the Ugnaught that he likes the snowy weather. Kuiil grumbles about the snow. Maul says that he promised Princess Leia Organa that he would make Snow City better than ever as Administrator. Maul tries to encourage Kuiil to sing along while children pray for snow. Shortly later, Solitus' starship Oblivion Runner arrives and opens a portal to the Forcehold, sucking Maul and the inhabitants of Ice City inside the realm.
Trapped in the Forcehold
Inside the Forcehold, Sig Greebling awakes alongside Servo and his estranged brother Dev Greebling. Dev blames Sig for getting them trapped in an eternal prison. Sig counters that he was trying to talk Dev out of doing something dangerous. Dev replies that he is not Sig's lost brother and can never be what he wants him to be. Servo says he is fine. Just then, they hear movement in a bush. Sig encounters a Lepi who identifies himself as Jaxxon, who is seeking answers about how he got here. Sig explains that his group just arrived inside the Forcehold. Jaxxon says that he will lead the newcomers back to his village to see whether they can be trusted. When Dev says he is unwilling, Jaxxon sports a blaster and replies that he is "all about the stick."
Jaxxon force marches his captives at gunpoint but is lost. Seeking to take back control, Dev ignites his red lightsaber but attracts the attention of a giant Chewbacca. The Wookiee approaches them, prompting Jaxxon to flee. The four flee down a floating island and Sig uses his Force Building powers to create an LAAT/i gunship. However the rampaging Chewbacca smashes the gunship's wing, causing them to crash on another floating island. Before Chewbacca can devour them, a Lego BrickHeadz version of Ahsoka Tano arrives and drives the Wookiee away with her lightsabers. Jaxxon and Sig are relieved to see Tano, who tells them to stop gossiping and follow her.
A hyperspace journey
Meanwhile, Yesi Scala attempts to broadcast for help on all Alliance frequencies but receives only static. Darth Kit Fisto attempts to convince his captors to let them go but Darth Rose Tico is defiant. Master Afol tells the Sith captives to be silent. When Scala tells him that they cannot contact the Alliance systems, Afol replies that those systems have disappeared. He explains that Solitus's power has grown during his time in isolation. As the galactic map contracts in live feed, Afol surmises that Solitus has targeted the Revel Alliance since they are the only people besides the Jedi Order who can oppose him. Afol realizes that Solitus plans to attack the Jedi on Canto Bight next. Though they are unable to reach Canto Bight through conventional means before Solitus, Scala says she has an idea.
Later, Scala and Afol's starship Dark Falcon encounters a pod of giant spacefaring creatures known as Porrgils, which are able to jump into hyperspace using simu-tunnels. Scala explains that her plan is to ride the Falcon inside the mouth of a Porrgil, which she explains are able to travel to different galaxies. Afol reluctantly goes along with Scala's plan. She tells him that she likes riding the cosmic waves rather than making deliveries. Afol suggests that the Alliance assigned her a job as a courier because of her skills but Scala is preoccupied with preparing the hyperspace jump. They jump into hyperspace with the porrgil.
Tano's freedom fighters
Meanwhile in the Freehold, Tano introduces Sig, Dev and Servo to the last free village in the Freehold. Servo meets a Viper probe droid, whom Sig thinks is trying to deny that she has a crush on Servo. Tano introducers the newcomers to the other residents, which includes Maul. Maul is pleased to see Sig but frightened of Dev, who dislikes the villagers. Maul explains that he was sucked into the Freehold. Sig and his companions learn that the other residents of the Freehold including Cal Kestis were sucked from their own galaxies. Tano explains that when galaxies are reformed, some leftovers do not fit and are sent to the Freehold forever.
Tano explains that she saved as many people as she could from Solitus and asks if the newcomers served him. Dev tells them that Solitus is their enemy because he banished him and his companions here. Kestis surmises that Solitus has escaped the Forcehold. Jaxxon agrees and asks what are they waiting for. Tano tells Jaxxon to calm down and believes that the knowledge they seek is inside Solitus's stronghold. She warns that Solitus's captains would be fighting for control.
Servo quips about being scared, leading the Viper probe droid to remark that he is not programmed for bravery. She stings him. Sig explains that Solitus is lose in his home galaxy and asks the villagers for help in fighting back. Tano agrees to help but says they can will need to infiltrate the perimeter defenses. Sig offers to help by using his Force Building powers to create a speeder bike. Kestis is impressed with Sig's Force powers.
Infiltrating Solitus' fortress
Later that night Sig, Dev, Servo, Viper, Tano and Jaxxon head to Solitus' fortress. Viper reluctantly carries Servo while Tano rides in a side car with Sig's speeder bike. When Sig asks Tano if there is nobody else from her galaxy inside the Forcehold, Tano tells him that the Sith won in her galaxy. After several years on the run, she ended up inside the Forcehold. Tano says she started a community inside the Forcehold but regrets not being able to save her own people. Sig says that so far he and Dev are the only people from his galaxy but is optimistic of encountering more people from his galaxy.
Dev rides with a watchful Jaxxon. Viper leads them to the gates of Solitus' fortress. She proposes sneaking through the fortress' ventilation systems but Dev instead uses his Sith Breaking powers to break a hole in the wall. Sig tells Servo and Viper to stay behind to act as lookouts. Viper is optimistic but Viper is irritated by the other droid. Unknown to the two droids, they are being watched by a shadowy figure from the trees above. Inside the fortress' garden, the four avoid a squad of B1 battle droids.
Sig and Dev lead the way, leading Tano to remark that the two of them are brothers. They enter a building full of Jedi and Sith artifacts that Solitus accumulated over the eons. Dev deduces these artifacts enabled Solitus to establish his own empire in the Forcehold. They stumble upon a holocron where a Cerean Sith talks about collapsing the universe into nothingness. Dev discovers a cluster of kyber crystals at the center of the chamber. He, Sig and Tano deduce that Solitus used a combination of Sig's Force Building powers and Dev's Sith Breaking powers to create a Force dyad that allowed him to break out of the Forcehold. Sig proposes using their connection in the Force and the crystals to break out of the Forcehold.
The group are interrupted by an evil version of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Revan. Kenobi boasts that he and Solitus have been plotting to destroy her village. Not realizing that this Kenobi is evil, Sig says he is a big fan of the Jedi and recognizes Revan as hailing from the Old Republic. Recognizing the two are servants of Solitus, Dev and Tano fight them with their lightsabers and Force powers. Sig uses his Force Building powers to construct walls to block Revan's attack. Dev comes to his brother's aid by using Force lightning to blast battle droids.
Sig uses his Force Building powers to rain Lego bricks down upon Revan and several battle droids. However, Revan quickly revives and more battle droids flood into the chamber. Kenobi gloats over the victory while Jaxxon thinks this is their last stand. Before Solitus' minions can eliminate them, a giant Chewbacca tears a hole in the room of the building. He is accompanied by his new friend Servo, who has befriended the giant Wookiee. Viper adds that Chewbacca has taken a liking to this "primitive lump of circuitry." Servo explains that Chewbacca mistook them for servants of Solitus earlier but is an ally. Kenobi and Revan charge at Sig and his companions.
Solitus's devastation
Meanwhile Scala takes the Dark Falcon out of the porrgil's hyperspace tunnel near Canto Bight. Master Afol is relieved that they have arrived safely and hopes the Jedi are preparing for Solitus' attack. At the Jedi encampment, Jedi Palpatine tells Jedi Vader to stop breathing so deeply to avoid blowing their cover. Greedo proposes to Princess Leia in the presence of the other Jedi including Luke Skywalker, who joins the celebration. Their celebration is interrupted by the arrival of Solitus' ship Oblivion Runner.
Solitus descends down to meet the Jedi in a Single Trooper Aerial Platform. He tells the Jedi that he has come to free them from their childish existence. Jannah senses the power radiating from Solitus while Jedi General Grievous attempts to attack Solitus with his lightsabers. The powerful Force wielder instead banishes him to the Forcehold. The other Jedi attack Solitus but he uses his Force powers to avoid their blades. He banishes Master Yoda into the Forcehold and uses the Force to banish several of the other Jedi. Jedi Palpatine tells Jedi Vader to get his family out of trouble.
Palpatine challenges Solitus to a lightsaber duel. Solitus fights with two purple lightsabers chained together. Palpatine scratches Solitus' face with his lightsaber during the first round. During the second round, Solitus manages to use his chained lightsabers to trap Palpatine on the sand. A defiant Palpatine dares Solitus to banish him to the Forcehold, which the Force wielder obliges. Jedi Vader cries out in despair.
Solitus then turns his attention to the Skywalker family, regarding them as an annoyance in each galaxy he has encountered. Before he can banish them to the Forcehold, Afol arrives with the Dark Falcon and uses his Force Building powers to create a platform to usher the Skywalkers and Greedo to safety. However, Solitus uses his Force powers to latch onto the platform. Greedo sacrifices himself by jumping on Solitus, who banishes him to the Forcehold. Though the Skywalkers escape with Afol aboard the Falcon, Solitus vows revenge on his former Padawan by promising to destroy everything he holds dear. The Dark Falcon escapes into space while Canto Bright is sucked into the Forcehold.
Escaping the Forcehold
Meanwhile in the Forcehold, Sig and Dev use the Force dyad between the two of them to reassemble objects, creating a portal back into their galaxy. Viper throws Servo into the portal while Sig struggles to hold it open. Jaxxon convinces Tano to enter the portal while he and Chewbacca make a last stand against the Sith and their battle droids. Chewbacca traps Kenobi and Revan under rubble before fleeing with Jaxon and Viper. Kenobi taunts the Greebling brothers, telling them that Solitus is omnipotent. Sig counters that in his new galaxy there is always a "new hope." He and Dev then jump through the portal out of the Forcehold.
