Homing beacons, also known as trackers, tracking devices,[1] homing signal,[2] or tracking beacon,[3] were devices used to track starships and other vehicles.[1] Various vessels, including Slave I and the TIE/ad v1, could fire homing beacons on to enemy starships with projectile launchers.[4] The XX-23 S-thread tracker was a homing beacon that allowed the Galactic Empire to track a starship through hyperspace to their destination.[5]
