The Numesira sector was a Mid Rim Territories sector containing the Charros and Olkrastrus systems, home to the planets Charros IV and Olkrastrus IV respectively. Both inhabited, the two worlds had a part with the Separatist Alliance by the time of the Clone Wars, with Charros IV producing the automated Vulture-class starfighter by the time of the war and Olkrastrus IV maintaining holdouts after the war had ended in 19 BBY. Senator Bail Organa and Imperial Intelligence agent Haki Zeophrine visited the planet around that same year. The former Imperial Governor Everi Chalis also went to the Numesira sector around 3 ABY.
Description
The Numesira sector contained the Olkrastrus and Charros systems (pictured on a map).
The Numesira sector was located in an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice regions.[2] It included the Olkrastrus and Charros systems at the coordinates Q-9 and R-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid respectively.[1] The star systems were orbited respectively by the planets[3][4] Olkrastrus IV[3] and Charros IV.[4] The Charros system was at the a junction between[5] the Great Kashyyyk Branch[6] and another hyperspace route.[5]
History
During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the former Imperial governor Everi Chalis was present in the Numesira sector five days after fleeing the planet Sullust during the Siege of Inyusu Tor[7] in 3 ABY.[8] While in the sector, Chalis reflected on the events that took place during the siege and considered her options for the future.[7]
Locations
- "Holdouts. We were told there were Separatist holdouts, as if it were only a battalion or two. The administration stopped sharing the clone casualty numbers, which should have been a tipoff, but—I didn't realize."
"Nor did I. It does explain a few things, though." - ―Bail Organa and Haki Zeophrine
During the time of the Galactic Republic, the Xi Char Cathedral factories at Charros IV[9] produced the automated Vulture-class starfighter for the Trade Federation corporation and eventually the Separatist Alliance, which used them during the Clone Wars against the Republic.[10] During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance took control of Charros IV, as part of a Mid Rim advancement[4] from around 1 ABY. After the advancement collapsed around 2 ABY,[11] the rebels chose to abandon the world.[4]
Bail Organa visited Olkrastrus IV to speak with Bana Rhuus.
Olkrastrus IV was a terrestrial planet with a Spiral Forest and canyons. It was governed by the Separatists during the Clone Wars and saw conflict around that. By the time the Republic won the war and became the Empire[3] in 19 BBY,[11] the local civilian leadership had ceded power to the Empire whilst the Separatist military there retreated into the wilderness and kept fighting against Imperial control as holdouts. Bana Rhuus, a sector chief for Separatist Intelligence, hid away with a holdout group, having a body double turn himself in to the Empire.[3] Around that year,[12] Senator Bail Organa and the Imperial Intelligence agent Haki Zeophrine went to the planet to question Rhuus for an investigation of theirs. After identifying the fake Rhuus, they were able to located the real one and gather a further lead for Organa. Zeophrine secretly killed Rhuus before the pair departed Olkrastrus IV.[3]
Inhabitants
- "They're frightened. These people have lived through horrors, and all they want is an end to the conflict."
"This part of the city is sympathetic to the Separatists. The family is … exceptional, in a number of ways." - ―Organa and Zeophrine
Charros IV hosted the Xi Char,[9] a religious cult[13] that founded[9] the fanatical Haor Chall Engineering Corporation[13] and operated the Xi Char cathedral factories.[9] In these factories, vulture droids were notably produced by members of[10] the sentient insectoid Xi Charrian species.[14] Olkrastrus IV was inhabited by a population, many of which were Separatist aligned. The local Separatist forces there continued to resist the emergent Empire, prompting a large presence of Imperial Military assets like clone troopers.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Numesira sector first appeared in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.[7] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Charros system was placed in the Taldot sector.[15]

Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss.
Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
