Investigation into the framing of the Jedi

During the early weeks of the Imperial Era, an investigation into the framing of the Jedi was carried out by Imperial Senator Bail Prestor Organa in about 19 BBY sometime after the Great Jedi Purge and the senatorial arrest of the Delegation of 2,000. He investigated the Jedi Order's supposed attempted coup, seeking evidence from Imperial Intelligence, although he knew all the evidence to be false and is seemingly assisted by Intelligence officer Haki Zeophrine, unaware she alongside others have begun spying on him. Learning of a Separatist's supplies cache with a database possibly able to prove forgery of official documentation involving the Jedi Order, Bail goes to Eyo-Dajuritz. Concurrently, Zeophine learns of Signal Section flagging Bail, intriguing her to continue his assistance in the case she learns of a true conspiracy and Breha becomes aware of her husband being spied on.^[1]

On Eyo-Dajurtiz, they encounter Saw Gerrera's guerilla fighters and Soujen Vak-Nhalis as they sought the cache to arm themselves and are captured as prisoners. Clone troppers are also deployed to suppress the existence of the cache and Bail reluctantly works with Gerrera and Soujen, the latter to finds raw data that can used as evidence to showcase forgery of documentation regarding the Jedi Order. Haki betrays the team but a bombing separates her from Bail and Soujen as well as Saw's guerillas. Both teams escape but she is killed by clone troopers, inadvertently suppressing the extent of Bail's treason towards the Empire. Later on Coruscant, Bail is given plausible deniability as a victim when Soujen pretends to take him prisoner before escaping. Learning of espionage efforts on himself following reuniting with Breha and later Mothma, Bail enlists the former's aid in finding Soujen despite her initial resistance against a formal investigation of the Jedi due to being a unpopular endeavor. From assistance with Senator Nulvolio, Mothma finds Soujen, who instead opts to attempt to assassinate Palpatine, forcing her to kill Soujen with his self-destruct mechanism.^[1]

Soujen's death erased evidence able to showcase doubts of the Jedi coup conspiracy, forcing Bail and Mothma to reassess a strategy against the Empire. Despite his attack on Center One, Mothma and Bail enter a unofficial alliance with Saw Gerrera. However, to show outward loyalty to curtail espionage efforts against them and his knowledge gained from the investigation, Bail publicly supports aspects the Imperial Rebirth Act, framing it around denouncing Gerrera and his militia as a terrorist to hide his own involvement with attack on Eyo-Dajurtiz, professing the Senate's commitment in ensuring protections against future insurgency, and claiming Mothma's actions were a careful coordinated effort to help the Empire, solidifying their "public support" of the Empire.^[1]
