Misses Ikk rebukes Wim, with her frogdog barking in the background[1]

Misses Ikk was an Ithorian inhabitant of the isolated planet of At Attin, whose population was dedicated to the Great Work of producing Old Republic credits. During the New Republic Era, Misses Ikk resided in the same suburban neighborhood as the human boy Wim, who tended to startle her frogdog as he rushed to school at the last minute.

Around 9 ABY, At Attin was invaded by Silvo's pirates, who intended to subjugate the planet's population and profit from credit production. As the invaders rounded up the townsfolk, pirate Beef approached Misses Ikk, knocked her over, and hauled her back to her feet before cruelly walking her to the rest of the inhabitants. However, due to the actions of the Skeleton Crew, the Barrier that isolated At Attin was soon disabled, allowing a New Republic squadron to arrive on the planet and repel the pirate invasion.

Misses Ikk was a female Ithorian who lived on the planet of At Attin during the New Republic Era.[1] A world isolated from the rest of the galaxy by a giant gas Barrier, At Attin accommodated Old Republic credit mints[3] and was therefore known as a Jewel of the Old Republic.[4] The population of the planet was dedicated to the so-called Great Work,[1] which referred to the maintenance of the mints and the production of the credits per se.[5] Around 9 ABY,[6] Ikk resided in the suburbs of a larger metropolian settlement.[1] She[2] lived in the same neighborhood as the human Systems Coordinator Wendle and[1] his[2] minor son Wim, as well as a[1] Myykian[7] multi-child family. At that time, Ikk possessed an At Attin frogdog which she would walk on a leash as part of her morning[1] and evening routine.[8]

Around 9 ABY, Misses Ikk was taking her frogdog for a morning walk, keeping[1] him[2] on a leash. All of a sudden, the boy Wim ran out of his house with a toy in his hand and rushed past a maintenance droid operating a lawnmower. Failing to keep his distance, Wim got too close to Ikk's pet, prompting him to bark at him and intruding on a neighbor's propery. In response, Misses Ikk rebuked the youngster in her native Ithorese. Without stopping, Wim called out an apology from a distance as he hurried off to catch his school tram.[1]

The next day brought rainy weather. In the morning, Misses Ikk set off on her routine walk with her frogdog, once again keeping him on a leash. As she passed by Wim's house, she saw the youngster rush out of his garage on his hoverbike.[1] Careening unsteadily down the road,[2] he splashed water on the adjacent sidewalks and startled Misses Ikk's pet again, causing him to step onto the roadway as Misses Ikk held on to the leash.[1]

Unbeknownst to Misses Ikk, Wim accidentally left At Attin alongside a few young companions the next evening.[1] The children found themselves stranded in the galaxy and had trouble finding their way back home. In Starport Borgo, the younglings allied themselves with the pirate Silvo, who promised to help them return to their homeplanet.[4] However, the pirate ultimately betrayed them. Upon their arrival on the planet, he posed as a Galactic Republic emissary to be granted an audience with the Supervisor, a droid responsible for governing At Attin and overseeing the Great Work. By disabling the machine, Jod caused a large-scale power outage before he allowed his pirate crew to access the planet, launching a planetary invasion to subjugate the At Attin inhabitants and profit from credit production.[3]

Misses Ikk happened to be out for a walk with her frogdog[8] when the massive pirate frigate appeared in the dark sky,[3] its turbolaser cannons set in battle-ready position.[8] The frogdog barked up at the invasive craft before it began firing on the planet's surface, destroying road vehicles in the process. Landing on their pirate dropships, the assault team rounded up the townsfolk. As citizens fled through the streets, the pirate Beef knocked Misses Ikk over, only to haul her back to her feet and walk her to the rest of the captured citizens. Beef escorted the neighbors[3] himself.[9] Separated from her pet, Misses Ikk ambled alongside Garree, Maree, the Myykian family, and other neighbors when she heard a public address by Silvo. Announcing that he had taken control of the planet, the pirate captain promised his men would show mercy to the inhabitants if they followed his orders, warning that any act of defiance would be punished severely.[3]

As the citizens were rounded up by the pirate assault teams,[3] the Skeleton Crew[10]—comprising Fern, KB, Neel, and Wim—sprang into action to seek help from the New Republic. While KB managed to slip past the Barrier to contact the astronomer Kh'ymm, Fern and Wim—along with their parents, Fara and Wendle—worked to disable it from the Supervisor's Tower. Meanwhile, Misses Ikk and her captured companions watched as a series of explosions rippled across the sky, causing the ribbons of green gas to dissipate as the Barrier burned away. Shielding her eyes from a brilliant aurora coursing over the neighborhood, Misses Ikk turned to the side. The Barrier soon vanished altogether, revealing a night sky filled with stars. As Misses Ikk and other neighbors looked up, they saw a New Republic squadron arriving to the rescue. The starfighters launched an immediate attack on the invading frigate, sending it crashing into a nearby water canal. The citizen erupted into thunderous applause as the pirates fell back in retreat, faced with imminent defeat. Meanwhile, a New Republic CR90 corvette cruised over the city rooftops, and one by one, the lights began to flicker back on.[3]

Personality and traits

A member of the sentient Ithorian species, Misses Ikk had long hands ending in claw-like fingers and thick, column-like legs. Her head featured two mouths on the opposite sides and a hammer-like, arching protrusion with two small, rounded eyestalks. She walked slowly and unsteadily[1] and was prone to stumbling.[3]

A speaker of the Ithorese language,[1] Misses Ikk was anatomically incapable of using Galactic Basic Standard. However, unlike several other Ithorians,[11] she did not utilize[1] a translator collar, which would have allowed her to communicate in Basic.[12] An owner of an At Attin frogdog,[1] a species known for being loyal and attentive,[13] Misses Ikk would become upset if someone startled him or made him bark unnecessarily.[1]

Equipment

During the New Republic Era, Misses Ikk wore a loose-fitting, pink robe reaching down to her feet, with separate pantlegs covering her lower limbs. On top of the pink robe, Ikk sported a brown vest. In addition, she owned a leash which she used for walks with her frogdog.[1]

  6. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
