During the New Republic Era, the Ithorian Misses Ikk from At Attin possessed a frogdog whom she would take for walks as part of her morning routine. A member of the loyal and attentive At Attin subspecies of the frog-dog, the individual was kept on a leash and tended to bark at noisy passers-by and invading pirate frigates.

Biography

"Sorry, Misses Ikk!"
―Wim to Misses Ikk — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[1]

A member of the loyal and attentive At Attin subspecies of the frog-dog,[4] the individual belonged to the Ithorian At Attin dweller, Misses Ikk, who resided in the suburbs during the New Republic Era. The woman would take[1] her[2] pet on morning walks, keeping[1] him[2] on a leash as she strolled among the neighboring households.[1]

Around 9 ABY,[5] Ikk and her frogdog were passing by Wim's home when the boy Wim suddenly rushed out of[1] his[2] garage. With a toy in his hand, he leaped over a lawnmower being pushed by a maintenance droid before he got closer to the dog,[1] mimicking starship whooshing[6] as he moved the toy around in the air. Startled by the boy, Misses Ikk's frogdog barked at him, intruding on a neighbor's lawn. When Ikk rebuked the youngling in her native Ithorese, Wim called out an apology from a distance as he hurried off to catch his school tram.[1]

On the following day, the frogdog kept his owner company on another walk. Just as the pair passed by Wim's domicile, Wim left his house's garage on his hoverbike, splashing rainwater[1] as he careened unsteadily down the road.[2] Misses Ikk's frogdog barked at the boy, walking onto the streetway as the youngling moved away.[1]

Some time later, At Attin was invaded by Silvo's pirates.[3] Silvo posed a Galactic Republic emissary arriving to collect Old Republic credits which the population of At Attin produced in mints and stowed in underground vaults.[7] As an alleged emissary, the pirate was granted an audience with the Supervisor, a droid[3] responsible for overseeing the Great Work[1] of credit production. When Silvo destroyed the Supervisor to subordinate the At Attin citizens to himself, the planet was hit by a power outage. Suddenly, a pirate frigate emerged in the dark sky.[3] As the invading starship set its superlaser cannons in battle-ready position, the frogdog happened to be on a walk with his owner Ikk.[8] Looking up, the pet barked at the invaders before they launched a massive bombardment. Separated from her pet, Misses Ikk was captured by the pirates and walked away alongside other rounded-up citizens until[3] the Skeleton Crew[9] and their parents managed to contact the New Republic and disable the Barrier that kept At Attin isolated from the rest of the galaxy. When a New Republic squadron repelled the pirate invasion, power was gradually restored as the lights began to flicker back on.[3]

Personality and traits

Ikk's pet was a brown-skinned At Attin frogdog with a pair of prominent black eyes and small earholes right behind them. He was a quadruped, with three toes facing forward and one pointing backward on each foot. In addition, he had long, white teeth. A pet walked on a leash by his owner, the frogdog tended to bark at noisy passers-by[1] and unfamiliar starship invading his planet.[3]

Behind the scenes

Misses Ikk's frogdog debuted in the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, "This Could Be a Real Adventure,"[1] which aired on December 2 2024.[10] Additionally, the pet's third-person pronouns were specified in the Disney+ audio description of the episode, narrated by Jedediah Barton.[2] Before the premiere, he was first pictured in a trailer of the series released on August 9, 2024.[11]

  5. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
