The Humbarine sector was a rich and industrialized sector in the Core Worlds and the Slice regions. During the Clone Wars it saw heavy fighting, including the Separatist bombing of the sector's capital, Humbarine. During the conflict, the Humbarine native Bana Breemu represented the sector in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic.

Description

The Humbarine sector was a wealthy, industrialized sector of the galaxy[4] located in the Core Worlds[1] and the Slice regions.[2] Its capital was Humbarine,[3] a terrestrial[5] world[3] in the Humbarine system of grid square M-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A hyperspace route connected Humbarine to[6] the worlds[7][8] Gatalenta[9] and Commenor as well as the Hydian Way route.[6]

History

Part of a map of the galaxy shows a dot representing Humbarine connected to Commenor by a hyperspace route which also links it to a red line representing the Hydian Way. Other worlds depicted nearby include Cato Neimoidia, Bellassa, Rendili, Fedalle, Kuat, Balmorra, and Neimoidia.

Humbarine, capital of the Humbarine sector, was bombarded by Separatists during the Clone Wars.

In the peaceful centuries preceding the Clone Wars, many large and powerful warships were made to defend the Humbarine sector, although their hyperdrive jump ranges were only local.[4] During the Clone Wars—which pitted the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems—the sector saw heavy fighting, including an intense Separatist orbital bombardment of Humbarine that utterly seared the world. During the conflict, the sector was represented in the Galactic Senate of the Republic by Senator Bana Breemu, a native of Humbarine and a member of a group called the Delegation of 2,000 who were concerned with the growing wartime powers of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine.[3]

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Humbarine supported Palpatine, now Galactic Emperor of the Galactic Empire. Following the Emperor's apparent death and the end of the war, the sector capital became part of an Imperial remnant that incorporated former territories of the Empire in the Core, the Colonies, and the Inner Rim Territories.[8]

Locations

Humbarine was a world that was considered ancient and conservative by the time of the Galactic Civil War.[8] It was home to the sycanid creature[10] and was the site of the Humbarine Academy of Advanced Studies[11] as well as hosting a planetary defense force.[5]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Humbarine sector was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. It was part of material reprinted[12] from the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, which was written by Curtis Saxton and marked the sector's first mention in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[13] It then appeared in the 2009 non-canon mobile game Star Wars: Jedi Mind Tricks.[14]
