Athio III was a terrestrial astronomical object[2] in the Athio system of the Mayagil sector within the Outer Rim Territories. It fell within grid square N-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Following the Great Jedi Purge[2] that began in 19 BBY,[3] Jedi Velerie Tide hid on Athio III from the Galactic Empire and disguised herself as a local.[2]
By 9 BBY,[4] Tide had been revealed as a Force-user and was killed, with her remains being displayed in Fortress Inquisitorius, headquarters of the Empire's Inquisitorius Jedi-hunters, on the moon Nur. Athio III shared its name[2] with the Athio Seven Hundred podrace.[5]
Behind the scenes
Athio III was mentioned in the reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide,[2] within a section written by Emily Shkoukani.[6] The page mentioning the location was revealed prior[7] to the book's November 2, 2023 release[8] at a Lucasfilm Publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con and in an article on StarWars.com covering it on July 21, 2023.[7]
