New Brampis

Hey Floyd, I saw you created a page for New Brampis. IIRC, however, there was really no mention in Allies about this at all, other than the New Brampis Starship Museum; and for all we know, the "New Brampis" in this name could refer to a moon or even a city. I think it's too speculative to say that it's a planet. Thoughts on this? Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 20:26, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

About the Source you added...

Only now I just noticed your edit on the article Vek Drow. You added The Unknown Regions to his sources, however, The Unknown Regions' own article doesn't tell that Drow appears in it. I dont own the said sourcebook, so I need to ask: are you sure that it is indeed Drow who appears in it, and if he is, can you add him to the Regions' character list? Wookieepedia for iPhone?

Hello, I'm just trying to see if there was ever any talk about making a wookiepedia for iPhone/iPod touch. I've done most of my browsing on this site on my iPod touch and was very curious if this was an issue someone may have been considering. I would be very willing to pay for an app the would give me pretty much infinite knowledge of the Star Wars universe. Just wondering. If so, please let me know. E-mail would be best. Again, really new, and just wondering. AppAziplock 00:04, July 5, 2010 (UTC) AppAziplock

Curiosity on a few things

The one event of the Second Galactic Civil War make me wonder. The Nanovirus the Imperial Remnant released into the atmosphere of Mandalore to kill members of the Fett Clan, wouldn't that also threaten then clones and the children of the clones of the Skirata Clan? I mean they are after all cantain the Jango Fett genes. No one has mentioned anything on that.

Dear administrator,

I have been a fan of Wookiepedia for several years. It has been my dream for a long time to create a character, i want to contribute to the Star Wars cannon. My brother and i have refined the idea of a new character, named "Worle". We spent three hours on his creation. Please give him a chance, please help us. I want to make him legit, can you help me, my galactic brother.

May the force be with you, Ewoklover53

Dear administrator,

I have loved Star Wars for years and recently got a wookipedia account, but I find technology impossible at the best of times. How do I vote for a Mr. or Mrs. Star Wars 2010? Also, I have a question. Why is the Clone Wars series considered canon even though i conflicts with books, and some comic books are not considered canon? How does it make sense? --Lady Tiree 01:00, December 25, 2010 (UTC)

I respect your concern for correctness. is there any way to make "Worle" a reality? Please...

Edits on the pages of the Eta-2 Actis

I read the new updates and the old updates, but the information that is there now appears contradictory and incomplete. It goes fine but then automatically skips to the part of "Eta-2's that were modified by Jedi were modified for <bla bla bla>". It doesn't really specify "what happened to the standard, 'factory-model', Eta-2's". it feels and sounds incomplete.

that and, i was trying to write a more complete comment in the editing box but the darn editing box wouldn't allow it (it only allows really SHORT comments :-( ). but i was going to say that the Star Wars Databank appears to be canon information, but unfortunately it is not updated as frequently as all of us would like and, unfortunately alot of the information is either not canon anymore and/or no longer applies. For example, the Eta-2 [Databank page] (which is in the same section as the [Delta-7] "Jedi starfighter" Databank page) says that the Eta-2's that were "flown by the Jedi were stripped for even FASTER performance. they did this by removing the ['heavy'] flight instruments, nav computer, and shields. a Jedi's attunement to the Force more than makes up for these compromises", which implies that the standard "factory-model" Actis has those things on it (as the "clone wars campaign guide" source (i'm still trying to navigate my way through Wookiepedia and Wikis in general and learn how to use them, edit them, etc. i don't even know how to add pictures!) shows). i also understand that, according to what the [Eta-2] Databank page says, the Eta-2 was made by Kuat Systems Engineering based on the 'innovations' (ie. modifications) that Anakin Skywalker made to his Delta-7 when he made it into Azure Angel (well you know what i mean by that. ie. when i was saying "made it into Azure Angel"). Anakin Skywalker KEPT the shields, and added more things like atmospheric stabilizers, a hyperdrive engine (although some sources, like the Databank, use the words "hyperdrive thrusters" and other sources say "hyperdrive engine"), as well as those circular turbine engines in the front (don't know what else to call them. i don't remember at the moment what the correct name for those things is). Saesse Tin also made some other modifications of his own, somewhat separate [and/or different] to the modifications that Anakin made. He increased the weapons (adding quad-pulse laser cannons behind breakaway panels), replaced the pilot-seat with a more comfortable meditation-chair, and added a class-3 hyperdrive engine. it's very understandable that Raith Sienar would believe that "agility and speed (and speed because, the aircraft is light. simple physics (or whatever it is). the aircraft or object or whatever it is, is lighter, and so it moves faster), but if he really was 'basing the eta-2 on anakin's innovations [with the delta-7 when he modified it]' he would keep the shields (although i understand that this (the eta-2) is also a starfighter that, official explanation [in-real-life] for lucasfilm, is supposed to "bridge the gap" between the delta-7 and the tie fighter (and to be honest with you, when i first saw the Episode 3 teaser trailer, and saw the design of "this new starfighter" (ie. the eta-2) and heard the tie-fighter engine sound, i knew that that was probably a predecessor, so to speak, of the eta-2, if not a starfighter that was meant to "bridge the gap" between the delta-7 and the tie fighter), so i can understand WHY this thing (whether it be in-universe, because of raith sienar, or in-real-life universe, because the tie doesn't have shields) this thing wouldn't bring shields as a standard feature. but then i can see why some jedi would complain about it and ask that a version with shields be developed (which ALSO makes sense) (i mean come on: what would you prefer? a punie tie-fighter that has no shields, no weapons besides blasters, and can easily be taken down in one or a couple of shots, or would you prefer to have something like the x-wing or the delta-7 that HAS shields and HAS blasters and can really move fast and kick butt?).

Hi! Just letting you know that the wording of a ct you've recently voted in has changed slightly. It went from 'If a droid has gender-specific programming, refer to them as "he" or "she" rather than "it".' to 'If a droid has gender-specific programming and is predominantly referred to as "he" or "she" in canon, refer to them as "he" or "she" rather than "it".' Nomination of Endar Spire

Hello Floyd, I just had a quick question about nominating an article to become FA. I tried nominating Endar Spire, but apparently the article was once an FAN, and got removed a while ago. As a result, when I tried following instructions, it gave me some kind of archived link instead of a redlink like the instructions say. Can you help me out? Thanks. Objection: Mantis

Hi. You have an active objection on my FAN Mantis Syndicate: "Could use a good copyedit." I did my best to handle the objection and asked your for a reply: "Try now. I can't find anything else needing copyedit." It's been quite a few days since I touched the article, and I was wondering when you could find the time to check it for the objection. Simply because it's the only active objection and I don't want it to reach the closing date (I'm not sure if it would count for that, either; anyway, I was wondering...) Thank you for your time and interest.--Skippy Farlstendoiro 11:55, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sorry to disturb you again on this subject. A further objection from another Wookieepedian directly opposes one of your objections. I thought maybe you'll want to stride in and debate on the subject. Skippy Farlstendoiro 12:36, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

Floyd, I would suggest that, if you haven't already, take some time to calm down regarding this argument you and Tommy have gotten yourselves into. There is a way to handle this whole matter that doesn't involve getting angry at him. Now, I do find some of his comments, as well as his unwillingness to restate his objections, to be unnecessary. That being said, however, I wouldn't blame him entirely for this argument - you both played an equal part in it. Now, I had hoped that I wouldn't have to get involved in this, but I feel that I need to to prevent this from getting out of hand any further. You both need to settle this on your own - as gentlemen, preferably. As an administrator, you are a role model for the community; please keep this in mind in the future, so that arguments such as these can be avoided. TOTJ

Hey Floyd,

I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on something. I've been tossing around the idea of writing and FAN'ing Vima for a while. Most importantly, I was wondering if you had any plans to do her first? If so, I'd totally leave it to you. If not, I'm wondering about the TOTJ article from Insider 26 --- do you have a copy of it? :^) And hopefully you can give me a little bit of advice --- do you think it would be best to write her up and FAN her now, and then update after Mandorla is released, or do you think I should wait? I feel like the former would be harmless, as Nomi is an FA that'll have to be updated too, but I also want to nip the inevitable "This will have to have a major update soon" objections in the bud, ya know?

At the same time, this isn't a sure thing. It might just be a whim that isn't followed through on. But... I'm really liking the idea. :^) Menkooroo 14:54, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Awesome, thank you. If it does happen, it'll probably be around Christmastime. ... Not sure if that'll be start or finish, though... yeah, I'm pretty disorganized. ^^ Menkooroo 00:13, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

A look to the future…
Hello Floyd, happy new year! This is a friendly check-in from your new project head of WookieeProject New Sith Wars. Our activity has been lagging a bit of late, with only one new Featured article and one new Good article in the last three months, and no Comprehensive articles at all since their creation back in June. If you're still interested in participating in the project, I'd like to encourage you to pick an article or two to write and mark it down on our current projects listing when you have the chance. Also, if you have any questions/suggestions regarding WP:NSW, don't hesitate to ask/let me know. Let's see if we can't get this project up and running! Cheers! Inappropriate content on this website

It has some to my attention that there is some less than suitable content being uploaded, mainly, today's quote. "Ewan: "Hayden! What the hell, your whole reason for turning was to save her. That was completely stupid." Hayden: "Nyaaah! The Jedi are stupider! They didn't know I was married to Natalie despite the fact that we live together, which Ian figured out in seconds. They didn't know Ian was a Sith. They asked me to get close to him, knowing full well I am confused and that he's manipulative. God, the assassin from Attack of the Clones allegedly couldn't be sent by Christopher Lee because 'It's not in his character'? Face it, it's a miracle the Jedi survived this long!" Ewan: "Anti-Jedite!" Narrator: "They duel. Then they duel some more! Then there's even more dueling! Afterwards, they do some more dueling. Then there's another duel, a little dueling, and finally, a duel." Ewan: "It's over, Hayden! I've got the high ground, just like Darth Maul did in Episode I right before I…killed him successfully… Ignoring that, if you jump over to me, I will cut your shit off!" Hayden: "You underestimate my power to decide not to jump to the low ground in front of you where I will be able to safely continue dueling, but to instead try to jump all the way over you and get my shit cut off!" Narrator: "He jumps and gets his shit cut RIGHT THE FUCK OFF!" ―Star Wars Episode 3: Abridged Script, written by Rod Hilton"

I would like to remind you that Wikia is a public website and should not display this kind of language (There are kids browsing through here, believe it or not). If you could remove this quote or at least censor it, you would have my thanks :D.

Hi there!

Hi, you left a message on my talk page that I had apparently replaced a Wookiepedia page with blank content. Could you please let me know what page you're talking about? I don't remember ever doing that, and I'm kind of confused! :( --Promus Kaa(Rebel Merchant) 25px 04:20, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. If you have the time, would you mind checking the talk page for "stormtrooper" and checking my entry, "Alien stormtrooper?" I don't think that the little stubs for alien and ISB troopers need to be on the page; each variant is already listed, and the listing already gives a link to each variant's page. Nobody has responded to my entry and I'd like to know what you think on the matter. Right now, both stubs are redundant and they needlessly clutter up the page. Thanks! --Promus Kaa(Rebel Merchant) 25px 03:25, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Nebulon Ranger

Hey Floyd, here's stuff that I caught:

  • A tad nitpicky, but the main image needs to have text in the complete speech bubbles, per WP:I.
  • Should Nebulon Ranger be unitalicized in the opening quote?
    • I experimented a bit and it should be good now.
  • "…she and her army were ultimately defeated in the final battle of the Beast Wars." Is there, or should there be, an article on this army?
  • "The following year, the Ranger was involved in a mission to Empress Teta." Link for the mission, perhaps?
  • I'd advise to not start sentences with 'but', like here: "But after worries that Qel-Droma was in…"
  • Possibly something could be linked in the latter part of the intro, like where Cay and Ulic face off and the ship goes boom?
  • The Description quote attribution seems a bit long; could you perhaps shorten it a bit? :P
    • Hmmkay, but perhaps it could be worded better. "As a" and "as the" in close succession makes it choppy.
  • Some event probably needs to be linked in the history's first paragraph.
    • Not really familiar with the source, but would "However, on the final approach to Iziz the Ranger was attacked by a group of Beast Riders on their flying drexl mounts" warrant an article?

Hey

Do you even know what's going on? Omicron's unnecessarily deleting obvious info. For example, he's deleting the part in the Behind the Scenes section of the Jizz article that says it was taken from Jazz, simply because there was no source. Similarly, he also deleted the Behind the Scenes sections of several articles pertaining to ships named after Latin/Greek/etc words. The sections were saying that (behind the scenes) the ships were named after real-world Latin/Greek/etc numbers/letters. He removed them, only to be confirmed by an administrator soon afterwards (Omicron said himself he "doesn't necessarily agree with it". Makes you wonder about his judgement, hmm?

One last thing, I'm not trying to attack him. I'm simply saying this killing spree of articles needs to be stopped. Thesaurus Rex 01:33, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

Has everybody lost their MINDS?! Bah, alright, fine. I'll conform. But I just want to let you know that all this is unnecessary and severely illogical. --Thesaurus Rex 01:44, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

I need some help. I am always trying to contribute to this site in helpful productive ways. I have read every policy multiple times, however, it seems every time I create or do major work on an article it gets tagged for cleanup or wookieefication. Re: Corsair

OK, I'll just leave my objections here:

  • You forgot to fill in the Captains field in the infobox, which I believe is necessary
  • In the Intro, "Although Sadow, commanding the Corsair, won the first, defeat was assured in the second." Give some context on why defeat was assured, i.e. "...won the first battle, his forces were so depleted that defeat was assured in the second."
  • Also in the Intro, "After the treachery of Qel-Droma's lover Aleema Keto was discovered after his rescue..." nothing major, the repetition of after is a bit odd sounding. Just change one of them to "following" or something.
  • In the Description, "battery of point-defense laser cannons and a battery of heavy concussion missile launchers" I don't think you need to repeat battery here.
  • Going off the recent "no infobox-exclusive info" craze, you probably should mention in body somewhere that the Corsair was not available for purchase.
  • In the History section, "...powerful Sith magic crystals that were powerful enough to wrench out the heart of a star." Once again, the repetition of powerful needs to be changed.
  • In the Rediscovery subsection, you first say, "...a newly ascended Dark Lord of the Sith, a young former Jedi named Exar Kun." However, later you say, "...Kun used his newfound dark powers to dispel Nadd's spirit, claiming the title of Dark Lord for himself." I'm a bit confused here. When did Kun become the Dark Lord?
  • You should probably mention in the History section that Kun taught Keto how to use the Corsair{{{'s}}} sun-destroying power.
  • This one is optional, but I would give a brief mention of how the supernova created by the Corsair later spread to Ossus. It's up to you though.
  • And that's all I have. Nice job overall. A very interesting read. And thanks for the Kivvaaa review by the way. :) Kilson(Let's have a chat) 20:11, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Ulic

Okay, here we go:

  • "However, Qel-Droma was overcome by the Krath's Force powers and suffered near fatal wounds as he led the Republic into retreat after their defeat against the Tetan usurpers." It wasn't Qel-Droma who ordered the retreat.
  • The fourth para of the intro can be condensed so much that whatever remains can be added to another paragraph.
  • The fifth can be shrunken a bit as well.
  • Will continue later.—Tommy 9281 Thursday, August 18, 2011, 01:32 UTC
    • Check them out now. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 00:00, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
      • Can still use some condensing. You can further summarize his partnership with Kun toward the end of the fourth para, and the beginning of the next doesn't need to mention the "While Exar Kun" bit.—Tommy 9281 Saturday, August 20, 2011, 19:19 UTC
        • How about now? IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 02:09, August 24, 2011 (UTC)
          • You can still condense a bit more in the fourth para of the intro.—Tommy 9281 Monday, August 29, 2011, 00:55 UTC
            • Condensed it some more. How does it look now? IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 02:42, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
  • "Qel-Droma traveled to Empress Teta and joined the Krath, initially pretending to be a fallen Jedi and eventually taking the Sith sorceress Aleema Keto as his new flame. However, he was injected with a rage-inducing poison by Krath warlord Satal Keto and things began to spiral out of control, leading him to lash out at his friends after slaying Satal Keto." Several things.
    • First off, ditch the "new flame."
      • Well, some minor mention of that is necessary, since its a relevant fact to events you explain later.—Tommy 9281 Monday, August 29, 2011, 00:55 UTC
    • The events in this bit are chronologically incorrect.
    • The sudden mention of his friends contradicts the very beginning, "Qel-Droma traveled to the Empress Teta..."—Tommy 9281 Saturday, August 20, 2011, 19:19 UTC
  • "Utterly defeated, Qel-Droma decided to lead the Jedi to Exar Kun's stronghold on Yavin 4 where he was defeated in a final battle." This makes it sound as though Qel-Droma was defeated in battle.
    • Fixed.
  • The writing in the fifth intro para is sub-par. Actually, you can summarize it into about two sentences that could go nicely on the end of the fourth para, after you've condensed that.
    • Rewritten and placed at the end of the fourth paragraph. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 02:42, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
  • "Ulic excelled in his Jedi training, learning and mastering the lightsaber combat techniques taught to him by Master Jeth before any of the Jedi Master's other apprentices. But Qel-Droma drew concern from Master Jeth due to his relentless efforts and often-reckless attempts to prove himself."
    • Rewrite this whole bit. The first sentence reads like you're running out of breath lol, and the second (a) starts with "but" and (b) is a bit choppy. As a matter of fact, the second para of "Early life and Jedi training" could use a bit of rewriting so that it reads more smoothly.
      • Rewritten.
  • Some condensation in the first para of "Trouble on Onderon," sticking more to the reason why Qel-Droma was going to Onderon without so much focus on the planet's history as recounted by Jeth.
    • Condensed.
  • "During the journey, Qel-Droma engaged his friend Doneeta in a discussion of Twi'lek culture." This is better suited to the P&T, since the entire convo shows his interest in Doneeta's culture.
    • Removed.
  • You got a thing with sentences beginning with "buts." I've seen a cockamamy reply from you before to an objection made to the use of "but" to begin sentences, and I'm here to tell you that that won't fly. To give you the correct technical answer, It's incorrect grammatically because but isn't usually used to bring in a new idea, if that makes sense.
    • Went through the article and addressed this.
  • You also have a terrible habit with "ing" words, which are present tense, as opposed to "ed" words, etc. which denotes past tense. You've been around the block too many times to be still making these rookie moves.
    • Went through the article and addressed.
  • "Amanoa, a Force-sensitive herself, was hesitant to work with such young Jedi, saying that she expected a great Jedi Master instead. Qel-Droma dismissed her concerns, telling the Queen that the whole of the Jedi Order would be at Onderon's service once she embraced the Galactic Republic." Too conversational/colloquial.
    • Rewritten.
  • "Qel-Droma fared well in the battle, defeating several Beast Riders and even slaying several of their mighty drexl war mounts." "Fared well" is POV.
  • "Doneeta spied the Beast Rider stronghold farther out in the forest and used the animal friendship Force power to gain the allegiance of several boma beasts. Through the Force, the boma beasts informed the Jedi that Galia was in the fortress and was about to marry Oron Kira, the son of Beast-Lord Modon Kira. Qel-Droma and his fellow Jedi set out on the boma beasts to crash the wedding and save the Princess, and they broke into the citadel while the ceremony was underway." This is ridiculously choppy. I know you can do better than this.
    • Reworked. Will get the other two this weekend. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 01:06, September 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • The remainder of this para is rather PBP.
    • I actually disagree. All of the info presented is relevant; the attack on the fortress, the revelations about Onderon's dark side past, and the battle plan being formulated.
  • The next para is also choppy, and is dotted with PBP. The end of that para is especially rough, when you describe Ulic's actions during Cay's rescue, then say he rescues Cay. And the section finishes out in the same manner. It is starting to read kind of rushed.—Tommy 9281 Friday, September 9, 2011, 02:26 UTC
    • I apologize. Try it now.
  • "Naddist cult members from the same organization that once claimed Queen Amanoa as a member, were in open rebellion against the new monarchy. Again, Ulic Qel-Droma was called into action, as the Galactic Republic had entrusted him, Master Jeth, Cay, and Doneeta to bring lasting peace to the planet." The way you introduce Naddists is kind of awkward. You should be talking about Ommin, as any mention of Amanoa is irrelevant at that point. The next sentence is poorly written as well; he's not Jason preparing to lead the rest of the Power Rangers on a mission.
    • Reworked.
  • It's getting a tad sloppy, Floyd. I suggest you start giving the entire thing a reread yourself and see if there's anything you think you could tighten up.—Tommy 9281 Friday, September 16, 2011, 23:26 UTC
    • Well, this is why we pre-nom. :P Sorry it took me so long to respond to these objections, I haven't had much time. Will look over the article outright when I get the chance. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 02:34, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

Saesee Tiin- High Jedi General?

Hey- I'm ObiKenobiUPC, and I'd like to ask permission before I make a certain edit. On Saesee Tiin's page, it states that he is a High Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic, as opposed to being a Jedi General like most Jedi. The only Jedi I have found any evidence of being High Jedi Generals are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Mace Windu. The High Jedi General page on this wiki does not state that Tiin is a High Jedi General. I have made a request on Tiin's talk page requesting someone to give me a source or proof that Tiin is a High Jedi General, and no one has responded, so I am asking if I have the permission to remove this information from his page.

Undefined Humans and the problem with planet infoboxes

Hi! Since you've written some planet GAs, I was wondering if you'd be able to help with a small problem that has arisen with the Qui-Gon Jinn's homeworld nomination. I tried asking Eyrezer about this, but I guess he's busy with other things. Anyhow, here's the question: According to the sources, Humans live on Qui-Gon's homeworld (obviously), but there's no way of telling whether they are immigrants or native to the planet. I feel the presence of Humans should be mentioned in the infobox, but since there isn't an appropriate field, should it be left out altogether? Or put in the "immigrated species" field like has been done in the Stewjon article for example, regardless of knowing exactly whether the Humans were immigrants of not? Any ideas on how to approach this would be appreciated. :) Alternatively, if you don't have an answer to this, are there any other users you could direct me to? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Tinwe(comlink) 09:15, January 27, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't see that you had gone back over what I just edited in the Hutt article. Nonetheless, I must strongly protest against your changes back to the original. The article had several grammatical errors, and the syntax was often awkward. Several places had excessive wording. My attempt to clarify the Clone Wars passage is not perfect, but it is in several places objectively better than the original. Unless you have a strong reason for reverting to the original, you should probably stop (especially when you are reverting back to grammatical errors).

--Epicera 02:07, February 13, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for Clarifying!

After I messaged you, I began to wonder if I was just inherently doing something wrong. Then I began to think that I was being an idiot and causing problems by trying to correct the grammar again. Then I thought that maybe I was missing some bit of Wikia etiquette in my editing attempts. Then I posted a message on the "Hutt" talk page to figure out if anyone else could tell me what I was doing wrong. Then I almost cried in terror. Then you messaged me back and it all made sense. Long night, haha.

R2-Q5 info

Hi, I'm from the Lego Star Wars wiki. We had an unregistered user add this information to our R2-Q5 page. I have checked this wiki (which I occasionally do for information about minor characters) and found that none of it mached up. Is this information true?

To see page click here-> http://legostarwars.wikia.com/wiki/R2-Q5

He wrote:

"He was Originaly created on Geonosis droid foundries in 24 BBY by his first master Count Dooku. Two years later in the Battle of Geonosis when Poggle the Lesser had given his master the Death Star plan, Dooku had sent R2-Q5 to go with Vicetory Gunray to Coruscant. During the Clone Wars, Dooku had R2 on missions to help the droid army."

Thank You, and I hope to hear back soon,

Before the Republic era

Just wondered why you decided to delete the official publishing era as listed in the actual comic, seeing as there is an official publishing era for everything else. Are you just showing bias against anonymous editors, or did you just not have the comic on hand to actually see what it said so decided to delete it because you thought you knew better? 174.78.141.147 02:38, February 29, 2012 (UTC)
