Qui-Gon Jinn's homeworld

  • Nominated by: Tinwe(comlink) 13:41, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: Actually I'm a bit surprised that this hadn't been created earlier. Inspired to no small extent by Stewjon. (You could tell? Really?)

  • A little bit context for the "River of Light" in the intro please.
    • Do you have any suggestions as to how to contextify it? There's nothing substantial that could be said about the River of Light really, other than that it was a river. :P Tinwe(comlink) 14:50, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
      • Hm, indeed. Well in that case I believe that it contextifies itself. Clone Commander Lee Talk 16:23, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • How do you know that the Humans were an immigrated species. It could also be their homeworld.
    • Well, that's the thing. I don't know. But since I don't know for sure that Humans were native to the planet, I can't say that either. I was following the lead of the Stewjon article here, but I admit the mention of Humans as an immigrated species in the infobox is a bit awkward. I'm not really sure what I should do about it. :/ Any suggestions would be welcome! Tinwe(comlink) 14:50, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
      • I would remove it from the "immigrated species" section because that is speculation. However, you should ask one of our planet specialists what to do. Clone Commander Lee Talk 16:23, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
        • I'm a noob with planet articles, so are there any specific users you could recommend? Tinwe(comlink) 11:55, January 12, 2012 (UTC)
          • I remember Eyrezer and Ifloyd nomming some planet articles a while ago, but I can't say if these two are experts. Clone Commander Lee Talk 09:27, January 14, 2012 (UTC)
            • I asked Eyrezer about this, and he suggested that the Humans should be place in the "Immigrated species" field like I've done here. I also started a SH thread about this just to get some second opinions, and the few I've got so far support the immigrant field as well. Tinwe(comlink) 10:03, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • Otherwise nice work. Clone Commander Lee Talk 13:55, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the review. Tinwe(comlink) 14:50, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
Toprawa
  • Since the article is referencing both the IU and OOU versions of Droids, Technology and the Force, I think it would be appropriate to create both IU and OOU article versions for this subject, which can then be linked as appropriate in the article. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:52, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
    • Good suggestion; done. Tinwe(comlink) 09:58, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Comments

Two things.

  1. I didn't create the article for 79 BBY because it's an approximate date; I only added it because I'm pretty sure someone would have requested it anyway. Depending on whether Jinn was closer to fourteen than thirteen at the time, the visit to his homeworld could also have occurred in 78 BBY. Besides which, the only thing that could be added to the year article is that Jinn visited his homeworld and found the stone, and I'm not really sure that's noteworthy enough. But if you people feel it is, then I'll be happy to create the article.
  2. I suspect the planet might have been mentioned in some OOU sources to which I have no access (Fact Files come to mind), so if you come across any, please tell and I'll tweak the article accordingly. Tinwe(comlink) 13:41, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm not going to object to this since I admit to not being a planet expert, but shouldn't it say in the infobox "Breathable by Humans" or something? As it stands now, it just says "breathable," which is ambiguously stated. It could be breathable by any number of species, but not be breathable by Humans. Should this not be clarified that it is breathable by Humans?—Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 02:38, January 12, 2012 (UTC)
    • I took a look at some of the planet GAs, and some specify it while others don't. Since the Human notion does make it a little less ambiguous though, I've added it in the infobox. Tinwe(comlink) 11:55, January 12, 2012 (UTC)

Hey there, I added another source which lists Jinn's homeworld as "unknown." Corellian PremierRobotechAll along the watchtower 04:16, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
