Discussion

• A brief discussion over Rule 8. As it stands, we have no official rule saying whether an article can or cannot have a redlink in the Sources or Appearances section. However, as I recall, we took away GA status from one article because it had a redlink in the Sources section. Kilson^{(Let's have a chat)} 12:28, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
  • Just for clarification, we never removed an article specifically because it had a redlink in the Sources. The article in question was Stewjon, and it was probed/removed because we had no verification that anyone even took the time to look into the contents of the redlinked Source item, with the redlink itself effectively being proof of that. While we have no formal policy for whether or not to allow redlinks in the Appearances/Sources sections, this was something that was discussed once upon a time in CT, to no actual outcome. See this forum. In the meantime, it's not our prerogative to penalize an article just because it has redlinks in these sections. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:47, August 22, 2011 (UTC)
