- ―A Wookieepedian, after his nomination is mercilessly rejected by the Inquisitorius
Inquisitorius,
Your attendance is requested for the sort-of-monthly Inqmoot on June 18/19. We will convene in the usual meeting place at the usual time of 7 PM and midnight on the East Coast and London, respectively. Please ignore the infobox times, they are probably wrong anyway, so show up at the regular time. As always, if unable grace our august body with your presence, please provide notes below.

- Just trying to explain what I'm saying here with this example: This FA mentions that Warb Null begged for mercy when his hand was cut off. This happened only in the audio version. Null's own article does not mention this in any way, not in the bio, not in the personality, and even not in the bts. Kreivi Wolter 19:16, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

The new (add to as needed)
- Battle of Grassy Plains: An FA from April 2007 that doesn't hold up to today's standards. Copying and pasting my comments on the RFA page:
- Seems like a relic of pre-Inq FAs. Just glancing at it reveals that:
- The intro could be a lot longer.
- There are too many images crowded too closely together.
- The article itself is lacking context in a lot of places and could use some considerable expansion in general.
- There's no way that the sources section is complete.
- Back to the now: These are pretty serious issues that I feel warrant examination beyond the RFA page. Menkooroo 16:24, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Seems like a relic of pre-Inq FAs. Just glancing at it reveals that:
- Raygar: as per here. Kreivi Wolter 21:49, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
- Dark Side Elite: No BTS. Menkooroo 04:05, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
- Ossus: incomplete appearance list, per my objection on the RFA page. CC7567 (talk) 04:58, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
- Jace Dallin: at a quick glance, bad linking and bad sourcing to comic story arcs; requires a good copy-edit to be brought up to current FA standards. I can get to it myself if I have the chance, but if not, it should get probed to ensure that someone does it. CC7567 (talk) 22:49, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Sagoro Autem: same story as Dallin. CC7567 (talk) 23:13, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Fay: requires a P&A section. Also, the Blast Radius events could benefit from some expansion. CC7567 (talk) 23:38, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Tohno: linking to redirects + redlink in intro. CC7567 (talk) 00:06, June 17, 2011 (UTC)
- I took care of the redirects, but I can't do anything about the redlink because I don't have the source. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Friday, June 17, 2011, 00:13 UTC
Discussion
The Re-featured article nominations page is up-and-running and has already added a few old FAs to the Featured Article queue. However, there are still some bugs to be worked out, and I'd like to bring them to your attention so that we can hash them out at the meeting.
1) Would it be OK to create a template to add to an article when it's placed on the RFAN page? A lot of people don't seem to be aware that the RFAN page exists, and this would be one small way of bringing it to the public's attention. It would also let the original nominator know that the article is currently undergoing a review (if they have it on their watch list).
2) This is a big one: The RFAN page was created for the purpose of populating the FA queue. However, a number of the FAs currently on the RFAN page are 2007-era FAs that have some pretty outstanding issues. A few of them have been brought to us for this meeting. There's currently no procedure for removing failed nominations from the RFAN page, and I'd like to establish one so that old FAs aren't sitting on the RFAN page for months at a time, clogging the page and preventing the FA queue from filling up (Recall that only thirty articles are allowed on the page at one time).
One option for removing failed noms would be to allow noms to sit on the RFAN page until they're ultimately stripped of their FA status due to major outstanding issues. I don't like this idea, as it clogs up the RFAN page with idle noms and prevents articles from being added to the FA queue. It also introduces an odd possibility: If an FA is on the RFAN page and then gets put on probation, and then somebody fixes the issues, can it pass its RFAN nomination and get put on the FA queue? If so, we could potentially be featuring articles on the main page that are under probation and have the big probation tag at the top. Battle of Borleias (Yuuzhan Vong War) is also an RFAN despite being on Wookieepedia:Inq/Redux page, which is something to consider.
Contrarily, if we say that an RFAN can't pass while it's on probation, then we still have the problem of it clogging up the RFAN page for months at a time, which prevents old FAs from being added to the queue and defeats the purpose of the RFAN page.
Another option would be to just remove a nom from the RFAN page if it has outstanding objections after two/three weeks. This would keep the process moving at a good rate. A potential pitfall, however, is that it would preclude the article from ever having the chance to be on the main page again. If we're OK with that kind of "You blew it, you lose" policy, then there's no problem, but I have an idea for a method that would give it a second chance. We can discuss at the meeting whether we want to give articles that second chance --- it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't, as we could just keep moving forward in the FAN history list.
Anyway, that's what I want to discuss at the meeting. It basically boils down to...
- 1) Can we add a "This article is nominated to be re-featured" template to articles that are on the RFAN page?
- 2) Can we remove noms from the page if they have idle objections after two/three weeks and be comfortable with that kind of "You blew it, article!" policy? If we coupled this with a "Don't put these articles on probation until after they've been removed from the RFAN page" policy, it would prevent articles undergoing probation from being added to the queue.
Consider those questions, and hopefully we can come to a consensus quickly at the meeting. Thanks for reading! Menkooroo 11:17, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

- My notes are identical to Tranner's.
- Probe all the new articles except for Tohno.
- Support Menk's first proposal.
- Haven't had time to read thru his too long paragraphs (:P), so I abstain on the second.
- Sorry for not making it to the meeting. 1358 (Talk) 06:26, June 17, 2011 (UTC)
Grunny
- Votes per Tranner
- Support adding a "This article is nominated to be re-featured" template to articles that are on the RFAN page
- For the second discussion point, we shouldn't put articles that are on the RFAN on probation as issues should be listed as objections and dealt with there. Since I don't know Menk's idea for giving articles a second chance, I'll leave it to the fine people who attend the meeting to come up with a good solution :). - Kill: Battle of Coruscant, Pau'an, Cerea, Chris Trevas (the article; not person)
- Keep: Warb Null, Kouhun, Sigel Dare, Orman Tagge, CT-27-5555, Rasi Tuum, Midi-Chlorian
- Probe: Battle of Grassy Plains, Raygar, Dark Side Elite (could probably also use a bit of cleanup/copyediting), Jace Dallin, Sagoro Autem, Fay, Tohno (could use some general cleanup/copyediting)
- Spare: Ossus—due to its nomination on the RFAN, it doesn't need to be probed. All issues should be taken up and addressed there.
- Malcor Brashin: I'm going to vote to extend the probe; it needs more cleanup work, but it is being worked on actively.
- Mara Jade Skywalker:
I'm going to vote kill; as I noted on the review page, I left notes of various problems on Ataru's talk page more than a month ago, but the majority of those issues still remain.Ataru's gone through the artcle today, but I don't have time right now to check through all the changes made and make sure there's nothing missing, so I'm going to abstain. - I support adding a re-featured nomination template to articles on the RFAN
- Per Grunny on the second point; articles on the RFAN shouldn't be probed.
- Hope I can make it. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 15:36, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Stuff
- It was agreed that a template would be created to place on articles that are on the Re-featured article nominations page.
- A process for removing failed nominations from the RFAN page was established. After three weeks of unaddressed objections, the nomination can be removed by five Inquisitors, with the vote occurring either on the nomination page or on IRC.
- Any article whose nomination is removed from the RFAN page will be brought to the Inquisitors.
- If the outstanding issues are addressed and the article keeps its FA status, the Inquisitors will place it on the FA queue to be re-featured following the next meeting.
- Articles on the RFAN page will not be probed until they are removed from the RFAN page.
- All articles currently on the RFAN page that are on probation will be removed from the RFAN page.
- Menkooroo will handle the post-meeting paperwork.
- Two members were removed from the Inquisitorius roster due to prolonged inactivity.
- If the FA queue falls to less than one month long, the previous system of featuring two articles on the main page per week will be reverted to. The Consensus Track discussion that originally brought about the FA-a-day made allowances for this reversion if the queue became short enough. Menkooroo 07:44, June 19, 2011 (UTC)
