"Hold it right there! I won't let you through! I-I saw what you did to the others, Jedi scum! But you won't do it to me ‐ even your s-sorcery can't get through 15 centimeters of Imperial-manufactured transparisteel! Right?"
―A nervous stormtrooper attempts to rebuke Cal Kestis[3]

Transparisteel was a hardy and transparent[1] alloy[2] that was primarily used to make windows[1] and other parts of starfighters, such as cockpit canopies.[4] A major component of transparisteel was lommite ore.[1] Transparisteel windows could be created in a way that made them blaster-proof,[5] as was seen with the Galactic Empire's TIE/ln space superiority starfighter,[6] but it was not lightsaber-proof.[7]

The eye sockets of Darth Vader's helmet were made of transparisteel.[8]

During 3 ABY,[9] transparisteel was sold throughout the galaxy for seventy credits a unit including on the planets Akiva, Kijimi, and Tatooine, as well as the moon Toshara.[2]
