Thea Starros was a human female who was[1] the matriarch of the Starros Clan[3] during the Imperial Era. She was the grandmother of Sana Starros, who referred to her as "Grammy."[1]
Biography
Early life
At some point she worked as a sniper for Enfys Nest, where she earned the nickname "Starfall Starros."[2]
Retrieving a family heirloom
Thea was at the Starros family homestead when Sana returned home to take a break after some romantic setbacks. Sana had to break in after her security code didn't open the gate. She was attacked by security droids until Thea deactivated them. She chided Sana for not checking her messages and getting the current code. She embraced her grandchild and welcomed her home. Thea inquired about who had broken Sana's heart this time and despite her grandchild's objections, she noted that Sana always came home after a bad romantic liaison. They walked to the front door and were greeted by Aryssha Starros. Thea requested that Aryssha show Sana to the blue room so she could unpack. The matriarch was captured when Cerasus Ehllo attacked the estate to retrieve his wife. After reuniting with his wife, Ehllo ordered his stormtroopers to kill everyone and burn the building to the ground. Thea told a stormtrooper that they didn't need to follow the order, but they assured her that they had too. She was rescued when Sana used the air vents to flank the troopers and attack them. Mevera Starros told Thea to shoot the tapestry hanging on the wall. The extremely flammable tapestry ignited and eliminated the remaining stormtroopers. Thea told the others that they could take the Vector Bundle to follow the Imperials. They stopped at the armory first to gear up and then took off. Sana questioned her aunt on why Ehllo had attacked and the fact that the aerial defense system wasn't working. Thea told Mevera to explain the situation to Sana. Mevera revealed that it was all part of a plan to retrieve a data cube containing Avon Starros' journals.[1]
Travelling through the Hosnian sector, Thea detected a ship approaching them. She ordered Sana to take over the controls while she and Mevera went to man the weapons. During the fight, Sana questioned her grandmother's accuracy, stating that she usually never missed a shot. Thea explained that she was herding the attacking ship into the range of Mevera's ion cannon. After the ship was disabled, Thea theorized it was a bounty hunter sent by the Soikans due to Mevera stealing some equipment from them after they failed to pay her for freelance work. They escaped the ambush and Thea meet with Sana in the galley. She told her granddaughter about the history of Avon's journals. After Mevera joined them and started bickering with Sana, Thea told them to stop and get some sleep and retired to her quarters. Later, she went and woke up Sana and told her they had received a message from Aryssha. Before continuing with their plan, Thea told Sana they had to visit an old relative. They flew to Deva's asteroid. After landing, she talked to Lutha and asked to speak to Deva Lompop. She entered the atrium with her family and made her way to Lompop.[2]
The group had a private meeting and Thea explained they were attempting to recover Avon's journals from the Empire. She told them that Sana's brother Phel Starros had stolen them when he was visiting. Sana became upset and stormed out. Thea suggested that they leave Sana be for a while, but Lompop followed her to talk. The group travelled to Hon-Tallos to help out Lompop's associate, Lanitra, with a mission. They entered Wild Wollina's Animal Adventures and waited for the action to start. Thea again tried to explain the situation about the journal recovery mission but Sana was still mad that her family was covering up for Phel's misdeeds. They explored the zoo until Lanitra's group created a distraction by releasing a hragscythe. Thea found a vantage point to provide top cover for the team. During the commotion and rescue of the rancor Nussi, Thea was kidnapped by Marl Jibs.[4]
She was taken to Hynestia and held in an old Jedi temple turned into a bar. Jibs sprung his ambush and extracted Thea out of the bar while Sana and Lompop were under fire. He loaded her onto a ship and took her to the King's Ransom. Once onboard, Phel led her and Mevera to Aryssha's suite. She tried to shame him for stealing from the family and insisted that his fathers had raised him better than that. She was locked inside the suite and reunited with her granddaughter just as Aryssha's water broke and she went into labor.[5]
She helped her granddaughter through labor and wondered why the King's Ransom hadn't jumped to hyperspace. When Sana arrived, she apprised her of the situation. Realizing that they couldn't leave the ship, Sana instead decided to hijack it. Thea wished her good luck and stayed with Aryssha to assist in the delivery of her twins. After Sana took out the Imperials and returned to the suite, Thea asked what had happened to Phel. Sana told her that she ejected her brother in an escape pod and Thea was happy, explaining that Phel needed some time alone to think.[6]
