- "Are these the last settlers from Ta'klah?"
"Yes, they're in good spirits and eager to get settled." - ―Keerin Fionn and Lily Tora-Asi
Ta'klah was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Outer Rim Territories. In 232 BBY, when it fell under threat from an Emergence in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Jedi Master Stellan Gios and other Jedi arrived to help Ta'klah's inhabitants. Afterward, the people of Ta'klah were resettled elsewhere, with at least some of them coming to live on the planet Banchii, where they were assisted by Jedi Master Arkoff and Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi.
Description
Ta'klah[5] was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] in the Jjannex sector's Ta'klah system. Ta'klah was located in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches,[2] and it was situated in grid square L-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Ta'klah had mountainous terrain, trees,[3] and a Type I atmosphere[4] breathable to humans.[3]
History
- "Everyone! There's been an accident in hyperspace. You must find shelter from the debris!"
- ―Stellan Gios
Debris from an Emergence falls on Ta'klah.
In the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace Disaster[3] in 232 BBY,[5] one of a series of debris fallout incidents known as the Emergences appeared above Ta'klah, causing the people of a settlement there to panic. Multiple Jedi, including Jedi Master Stellan Gios, soon arrived in Jedi Vectors to assist Ta'klah's inhabitants. After leaping from[3] his[5] Vector, Gios assisted a child who had fallen and used the Force to protect them from the debris. He then told Ta'klah's people of the disaster and ordered them to seek shelter. When one resident thanked Gios, he reassured them that the Jedi would help and then told them again to seek shelter inside. As a result of the disaster, the settlement was engulfed in flames and destroyed.[3]
Stellan Gios saved a child from an Emergence.
Following the disaster, at least some of the inhabitants were relocated to the Outer Rim planet Banchii. The last group of settlers, which included the farmer Kooba, was taken to Banchii by the Wookiee Jedi Master Arkoff and Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi. The Nihil spy Zaret was also among the group. After their starship landed, they were greeted by the other Jedi on Banchii, including Tora-Asi's Padawan Keerin Fionn, who asked about the settlers. Tora-Asi confirmed that they were the last settlers from Ta'klah and that they were in good spirits and eager to get settled. She then had Fionn show the refugees around the settlement on Banchii. Later, Banchii was attacked by the sentient carnivorous plants known as the Drengir. Following the attack, Tora-Asi suggested the possibility that the Drengir's seeds had been brought to Banchii during one of the many trips of the Ta'klah resettling, and that someone may have used Kooba by secretly giving him Drengir seeds to plant on Banchii.[3]
At some point no earlier than 35 ABY, the protocol droid C-3PO wrote a book about Wookiees. In the book, C-3P0 mentioned that Arkoff welcomed the refugees from Ta'klah to Banchii.[6]
Inhabitants
- "Thank you, Master…"
"Gios. Stellan Gios. But please, call me Stellan. Don't worry, we'll take it from here." - ―An inhabitant of Ta'klah and Stellan Gios
Prior to the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Ta'klah was inhabited by humans, including Kooba.[3]
Locations
Before the Great Hyperspace Disaster, at least one settlement was located on Ta'klah. Multiple round buildings were located in the settlement.[3]
