- "This tapestry was made over two hundred years ago by the famous Jedi artist Sherche La Plenn, an Ubdurian who served as the first marshal in the temple on Sag Kemper."
- ―A Devaronian Jedi, to Cohmac Vitus
Sag Kemper was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Sag Kemper system within the Tamarin sector of the Outer Rim. During the High Republic Era, it housed a temple of the Jedi Order, with the Ubdurian Sherche La Plenn serving as its first marshal by 431 BBY.
In 228 BBY, the Nihil marauders expanded their Stormwall hyperspace barrier, leaving Sag Kemper located within its territory known as the Occlusion Zone. Later that year, the Stormwall's fall dissolved the Occlusion Zone.
Description
Sag Kemper was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located in the Sag Kemper system within the Outer Rim's Tamarin sector. It was situated in grid square N-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A hyperspace route linked Sag Kemper to the Kabal and Zallo systems.[2]
History
By 431 BBY,[4] during the High Republic Era, the Ubdurian Jedi and artist Sherche La Plenn served as the first marshal of the Jedi temple of the Jedi Order on Sag Kemper.[3] By the same time,[4] La Plenn had also created a large tapestry that depicted a battle between the Jedi and the Sith. Over 200 years later,[3] in 231 BBY,[4] the tapestry, which the Order thought had been lost to history, was gifted to the Order by the Galactic Republic for its assistance during the Great Hyperspace Disaster the year before. Afterward, it was hung over the entrance of the Jedi Temple on[3] the Core Worlds[5] planet Coruscant.[3]
Cohmac Vitus (pictured) was told about Sherche La Plenn's time as marshal on Sag Kemper.
Later that year,[4] after Jedi Master Cohmac Vitus, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, and Padawan Imri Cantaros entered the Jedi Temple, they saw the tapestry, with Vitus then asking a Devaronian Jedi who had made it. In response, the Devaronian informed the trio it had been La Plenn, calling the artist famous and stating that they had served as the first marshal of the temple on Sag Kemper.[3] In 230 BBY, the Nihil marauder organization formed the Occlusion Zone, a region of space stranded behind a hyperspace barrier known as the Stormwall.[5]
Two years later,[6] the Nihil expanded the Stormwall after a failed Republic and Jedi assault on the barrier,[7] which resulted in Sag Kemper falling within the Nihil's territory.[2] Later that year,[8] the Nihil surrendered to the Republic following the Stormwall's fall, which dissolved the Occlusion Zone as a territory. The worlds of the Occlusion Zone,[9] which included Sag Kemper,[2] were welcomed back into the Republic if they wished. However, some opted to retain their independence, while others remained under the control of individual Nihil warlords.[9]

As Out of the Shadows establishes that Sherche La Plenn served as the marshal of the temple on Sag Kemper and created a tapestry over two hundred years before its events, they must have been marshal and created the tapestry by 431 BBY.

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 takes place one year and two weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. Since the events of The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6 are set immediately following the fourth issue and depict the expansion of the Stormwall, the expansion must have taken place in the same year. Meanwhile, the events of "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: No Big Deal" include the Stormwall's expansion and also depict the start of Pikka Adren's pregnancy. A later story, "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Sparks Fly," states that Adren is eight months pregnant during its events, indicating that it is set eight months after "No Big Deal," and therefore one year, eight months, and two weeks after the fall of Starlight Beacon. "Sparks Fly" is set during the Battle of Eriadu, an event that begins in The High Republic Adventures Phase III - The Wedding Spectacular. As
Star Wars: The High Republic Chronological Reader's Guide on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places The High Republic: Defy the Storm between the events of "No Big Deal" and The Wedding Spectacular, its events must also be set in 228 BBY.
