- "This tapestry was made over two hundred years ago by the famous Jedi artist Sherche La Plenn, an Ubdurian who served as the first marshal in the temple on Sag Kemper. This fine piece was thought lost to history, but we are fortunate to have it with us once more."
- ―A Devaronian Jedi
Sherche La Plenn was an Ubdurian Jedi of the Jedi Order and an artist.[1] By 431 BBY,[2] La Plenn had served as the first marshal of the Jedi temple on the astronomical object Sag Kemper and had created a large tapestry that depicted a battle between the Jedi and the Sith.[1]
In 231 BBY,[2] La Plenn's tapestry was gifted by the Galactic Republic to the Order for its assistance during the Great Hyperspace Disaster the year before, and it was hung over the entrance of the Jedi Temple on[1] the Core Worlds[3] planet Coruscant.[1] That same year,[2] Jedi Master Cohmac Vitus, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, and Padawan Imri Cantaros saw the tapestry after they entered the temple. After Vitus asked a Devaronian Jedi who had created it, the Devaronian informed them of La Plenn's history, referring to the Ubdurian as famous.[1]
Behind the scenes
Sherche La Plenn was mentioned in the 2021 young-adult novel The High Republic: Out of the Shadows, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[4]
