"They talk to the dead, you know, Evereni. They see the ghosts of those they've slaughtered, lost souls doomed to follow those damned sharks wherever they go."
―A spacer on Rekardia[4]

Rekardia was an Expansion Region terrestrial astronomical object located in the Vensensor sector's Rekardia system. By 382 BBY, during the High Republic Era, the Path of the Open Hand cult members Yana Ro and Kor Plouth spent time on Rekardia.

While on Rekardia, Ro entered a bar and a group of smugglers muttered about her species, the Evereni. After an Argazdan told his companions a rumor about the Evereni, Ro walloped his nose into the bar, which she later recounted to Plouth at a spaceport.

Description

Rekardia was a terrestrial astronomical object[4] located in the Rekardia system within the Vensensor sector of the Expansion Region[1] and Trailing Sectors.[2] It was situated in grid square K-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid. The Corellian Trade Spine[3] super-hyperroute[5] connected Rekardia to[3] the planets[6] Blutopia and Kinyen.[3]

History

Yana Ro visited a bar on Rekardia.

Yana Ro visited a bar on Rekardia.

By 382 BBY,[7] during the High Republic Era, two members of the Path of the Open Hand cult—the Evereni Yana Ro and her girlfriend, the Nautolan Kor Plouth—were on Rekardia. During their time there, Ro visited a bar. After she entered the bar, a group of smugglers who were drinking ale, including an Argazdan spacer, glared at her and muttered about her species, which she tried to ignore. The Argazdan then told his fellow smugglers about a rumor regarding the Evereni being able to see the ghosts of those they killed and even talk to them. Knowing what he had said was just superstition, Ro smashed the spacer's nose against the bar in retaliation and informed him of as much.[4]

Ro eventually left the bar and reunited with Plouth at a spaceport, where she told the Nautolan about what had happened at the bar, at which Plouth laughed.[4] That year,[7] as Ro traveled aboard the Path's[4] flagship,[8] the Gaze Electric, she mentally recalled the time she and Plouth—who had since perished—had been on Rekardia, noting that it was the first time she heard rumors about her species.[4]

Locations

Rekardia was the site of a spaceport and a bar. According to Yana Ro, the bar sold cheap ale.[4]

Behind the scenes

Rekardia was first mentioned in the 2023 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Vengeance, written by Cavan Scott as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[4] Phase II.[9]
