The Jidlor Marches was a sector of the Mid Rim Territories. In grid square I-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid it contained the Tarolax system[1] which contained the ice moon Tarolax.[2] In grid square I-16 it included the Chankin system[1] which contained the terrestrial astronomical object Chankin.[3] In grid square J-16, it included the Jidlor system and the Praxat Sil system[1] which was also known as the Sava system and contained the terrestrial astronomical object Praxat Sil.[4]

Years prior[3] to 18 BBY,[5] pirates came after the Graf family of cartographers on Chankin.[3] By around 11 BBY,[6] a civilization had formed on Praxat Sil and then collapsed due to the timing of an eclipse.[4] Between 29 ABY and 34 ABY,[7] the smuggler Barbas and his crew transported the Resistance spy Misette off Tarolax to get her away from the First Order.[2]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Jidlor Marches was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[8] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Fry and Daniel Wallace.[9] The Jidlor Marches was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the 2012 StarWars.com article The Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim.[10]

  7. "Bakurat" takes place when the First Order was publicly active in the galaxy and features Takodana Castle. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary states that the First Order was publicly formed five years before the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY, meaning the First Order became public in 29 ABY. As The Force Awakens also depicts the destruction of Takodana Castle, "Bakurat" takes place between these two years.
