Publisher's summary

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
Master and apprentice.
Chosen by fate. Destined for conflict.

When Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are sent to the Galactic Games, they are meant to be keepers of the peace. Then they discover an illegal event that Anakin knows all too well: Podracing. Even though Obi-Wan forbids it, Anakin cannot resist the thrill of the race—and the chance to face off against his childhood rival, the loathsome Sebulba.

As a Jedi, Anakin is supposed to let go of his past. But his past will not let go of him.

Plot summary

A Jedi security team is on Euceron during the Galactic Games and discovers a plot engineered by the Commerce Guild to discredit certain Senators by implicating them in illegal gambling. Meanwhile, reports of an outlawed Podracing competition in the caves of Euceron draw Anakin Skywalker’s curiosity, and he finds that Hekula, son of Sebulba, is piloting his old Podracer. Anakin volunteers to enter the race on behalf of the Tyerell brothers to free their enslaved sister.

Continuity

The book stated that Anakin had not raced since he was eight years old, when in fact he was nine years old during the Boonta Eve Podrace that saw his liberation.[1]
