Davnar II,[5] also known as Davnar, was a planet[1] located in the Davnar system, within the Kanchen sector[3] in the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior regions,[2] in grid square K-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[4] The planet occupied the second orbital position in its star system. It was the homeworld of the kalidor, a predatory avian species,[5] as well as historian Eloc Throno.[1]

At some point, Throno left Davnar II to study cartography at the Graf Archive on the moon Orchis 2.[1] In 34 ABY,[6] after leaving his homeworld, Throno mentioned the planet in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu, which detailed the planet Batuu and also included a map depicting the location of Davnar II in the work.[1]

Behind the scenes

Davnar II was introduced to the current Star Wars canon by the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games sourcebook Lead by Example.[5] The 2020 reference book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu, written by Cole Horton, introduced the alternate name "Davnar" for the planet.[1] Davnar II was originally first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 1979 novel Han Solo at Stars' End, written by Brian Daley,[7] and made its first appearance in the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rebellion.[8]
