Corrections officer,[1] also called the correctional officer,[3] was the title of an officer in the[1] New Republic Correctional Corps. Lieutenant Lant Davan held the position aboard the New Republic Correctional Transport Bothan-5.[2] When the prison ship was infiltrated near the Dilestri system[4] around 9 ABY,[5] Davan faced the infiltrators, only to be killed by a knife throw from the Twi'lek mercenary Xi'an.[6]

A corrections officer donned a blue uniform with a New Republic insignia on the left shoulder. Their white shoes[6] that resembled those of an Imperial stormtrooper[7] and their belt displayed an officer's disk upon the buckle. The white helmet of the officer, which featured a black tinted visor,[6] was the same type of helmet as the ones used by the Alderaanian consular security[8] and could include the officer's designation printed in Aurebesh on the side. Corrections officers could possess a A-180 blaster, holstered on their belt, and a tracking beacon.[6]

A corrections officer first appeared in "Chapter 6: The Prisoner," the sixth episode of the first season of Jon Favreau's live-action television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, which was directed by Rick Famuyiwa[6] and released on December 13, 2019 on Disney+.[9] The position was later identified in Joe Schreiber's junior novelization of The Mandalorian Season One, released in 2021.[1]
