Rick Famuyiwa (born June 18, 1973) is an American film director, producer and screenwriter best known for the 2015 film Dope. He directed multiple episodes of the live-action Star Wars television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, created by director Jon Favreau.[2] After directing two episodes of the series' first season, it was reported and confirmed by Famuyiwa's representatives on August 21, 2019 that Famuyiwa would also direct an undisclosed number of episodes for the second season of The Mandalorian.[3] During Celebration Anaheim in 2022, it was announced that Famuyiwa will executive produce and direct in the third season[4] and he also directed episode eight of the first season of Star Wars: Ahsoka.[5] Famuyiwa also plays the character Jib Dodger, a T-65B X-wing starfighter pilot[6] for the Adelphi Rangers,[7] in "Chapter 6"[6] and "Chapter 21".[7]
