Bantoo was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories.[1] In 229 BBY,[6] it fell within the Nihil pirates Occlusion Zone, and the Nihil sent a group led by Minister of Protection General Abediah Viess to collect tithes from the planet. When they arrived at the city Jodzia, Jodzia's mayor refused to pay the tithes, claiming that the Nihil erection of the Stormwall to create the Occlusion Zone was illegal. In response, the Nihil razed three districts of Jodzia. Feeling trapped by the supposed restrictions her family had placed on her, Melis Shryke raided her family's vault and paid tribute to the Nihil, and asked to join them. Viess accepted Shryke's demand.[1]
