During the Operations on Tatooine, a massive force of the local Imperial garrison attacked the main base of operations for the Tatooine rebel cell in response to a string of attacks against Imperial facilities across Tatooine, including a recent attack resulting in the destruction of Fort Sunfire. The attack was led by Imperial Captain Kosh of the 68th Legion, who assaulted the base several Imperial armored vehicles including an Elite AT-AT, nine All Terrain Scout Transports, and two 2-M Saber-class Hover Tanks. Despite causing heavy damage to the rebel base, the 68th Legion was repelled and all of their mechanized forces were destroyed, resulting in a second attack led by the 68th Legion shortly after.[1]

It also states that the plan was orchestrated by Jennica Pierce of the Rebel Alliance. This scenario does not occur if the player aligns with the Empire, so it can be deduced that Saponza's gang joined the Rebellion.
