A strike on Gorse against the New Republic occurred to lure the New Republic Defense Fleet away from the Nadiri Dockyards in order for the Galactic Empire to attack Project Starhawk. A battle group of the Empire participated in the strike on the New Republic's supply lines, under orders from Admiral Rae Sloane.[1]
