Zeekay was a droid that belonged to the child Yesula and her father. At some point no earlier than 227 BBY, Yesula and her father were rescued by Jedi Master Kelnacca and his Padawan, Yarzion Vell, after their home on the astronomical object Veek caught on fire. After safely escaping, Yesula told the Jedi that Zeekay was still inside and had holos of her dead mother in his databank. Vell then reentered the building to rescue Zeekay and returned him to Yesula.

Zeekay was a droid that belonged to the child Yesula and her father. His databank contained holos of Yesula's mother, who had passed away.[1] At some point no earlier than 227 BBY,[2] their home on the astronomical object Veek caught on fire. While Yesula and her father were being rescued by Jedi Master Kelnacca and his Padawan, Yarzion Vell, Yesula protested against her father's attempts to leave, as she knew the droid was still inside their burning home. After they safely escaped, Yesula told the Jedi that Zeekay was still inside. When Vell asked who Zeekay was, Yesula's father informed the Jedi he was their droid and added that losing Zeekay did not matter because he was old and barely functioning. Yesula, however, explained that holos of her mother remained in Zeekay's databank and said that losing him would be like losing her again. Upon hearing this, Vell reentered the home and rescued Zeekay. When Vell reunited Yesula with Zeekay, the droid beeped and Yesula's father thanked the Padawan.[1]

Vell then apologized to his master for rescuing the droid, but Kelnacca immediately knighted him for his actions.[1] Around 149 BBY,[3] as Vell was dying, he told his own Padawan, Ordea, about his rescue of Zeekay.[1]

Zeekay had gray plating and a black sensor. He had a rectangular body with a leg beneath it and a head on top.[1] By a point no earlier than 227 BBY,[2] Yesula's father claimed the droid was old and barely functioning.[1]

Behind the scenes

Zeekay appeared in a flashback in the one-shot comic The Acolyte - Kelnacca 1, written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Marika Cresta,[1] and published by Marvel Comics on September 4, 2024.[4]
