By the time of the Cold War between the First Order and the Resistance, a mining colony operated on Valashar. Flix and Orka—the proprietors of the Office of Acquisitions headquartered on[2] the Mid Rim planet[3] Castilon's supertanker fuel depot Colossus—refused to sell a phase connector, a rare and expensive type of mining device, to the First Order operative Teroj Kee due to his past attempts to steal from them. Instead, the pair sold the device to the mining colony on Valashar. Flix and Orka kept the device in the back storeroom of their business and maintained a log of the sale in a database.[2]

In 34 ABY,[4] when the mechanic Kazuda Xiono was briefly running the Office of Acquisitions while its owners were away, he told Kee that he could not sell him a phase connector, as the one they had was already sold to the Valashar colony. When Kee then attempted to steal it, Xiono was forced to destroy the mining device to prevent him from escaping offworld with the merchandise.[2]

Behind the scenes

Valashar was mentioned in "Dangerous Business,"[2] the thirteenth episode of the first season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series.[5] The episode premiered on January 20, 2019.[6]
