Damaged ships being casualties

  • Hey, yeah sorry about that, I'm assuming you're talking about the prison outpost. Unfortunately that was the only time the entire outpost could be visible and it was too far so I had to crop it a bit so that it could be more visible.   • Hey, I'm not sure, when I make a following paragraph after the second and attach a reference to it, the reference doesn't get highlighted in red. I've checked several times to see if it was the actual reference that was incorrect but that wasn't the case. There was also an error message, but one I haven't seen before, something to do with copying and pasting from Microsoft, which is incorrect since I havent copied or pasted anything.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 21:04, November 1, 2017 (UTC)
    • Reference highlighted in red? Do you mean in the editor, before you save? That's nothing to worry about. As for the Microsoft punctuation, make sure you're using the proper citation character " instead of the Microsoft Word standards “ ”. Hope this helps. 1358 (Talk) 21:12, November 1, 2017 (UTC)
      • Make sure all your apostrophes use the proper version as well, ' instead of the sideways-tilting version ’. (check out any italicization) 1358 (Talk) 21:24, November 1, 2017 (UTC)
        • As long as it's not broken in the saved version, it should be fine. The syntax highlighting in the editor window can be a bit inconsistent sometimes. And if there's an error in the saved version as well, someone will come along and fix it. 1358 (Talk) 21:46, November 1, 2017 (UTC)

Hi.

Duplicate images

Before uploading a new image, it is a good idea to look in the source category to ensure that is has not already been uploaded. For example, if you had looked in Category:Images from the Interdictor Expansion Pack, you would have seen that [[:File:FantasyFlight Interdictor ship.png|this image]] was already uploaded as Interdictor SWA.png. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 21:38, December 9, 2017 (UTC)

Notability and deletion

Hi Vitus, I noticed you've tagged quite a few Unidentified characters with deletion tags. While we appreciate your willingness to help, please note that nowhere in our Notability policy is anything said about character articles. Historically this has been a very contested issue but to my knowledge, all attempts to create a blanket ban on "unnotable" characters have failed. What this means is that subjects with any sort of canonical significance (whether that be dialogue (in particular), action, or anything else) are not to be deleted on sight, but should rather go through the Trash compactor process. I've gone ahead and deleted a bunch of articles with no indication of notability, but for those with unique dialogue, I've removed the deletion template for now. Feel free to start a TC thread if you want. Also keep in mind {{Notability}} is for fan projects, not IU articles, as the aforementioned obey a separate notability policy.   • Trust me, I'm not the only user on the site who would love to see a straightforward notability policy on characters, but it's been proven from time to time that many people see dialogue as warranting an article. There's been quite a few recent TCs where we've reached a consensus to delete, but I can't recall an instance where a character with unique dialogue has been deleted. One could argue that this site isn't running out of space, so keeping around unique articles doesn't hurt anyone. Of course you are free to start a TC thread or SH discussion about this, but I don't we are anywhere close to reaching an agreement about notability rules for characters.     • Precedent has generally been that no indication of notability (be that unique dialogue and/or action) = speedy deletion, and you'll notice I did indeed delete some of the CSD-marked articles as they contained no proof of notability. 1358 (Talk) 18:04, December 12, 2017 (UTC)

Unnecessary redirect

Good work helping to keep things tidy, but a redirect (B/SF-17 heavy bomber) doesn't become unnecessary until all the things that link to it (Special:WhatLinksHere/B/SF-17 heavy bomber) have been corrected to the new link. Unseen Pilots

Hi, sorry to bother you, but can we upload an image of a pilot's fighter as their infobox image because their faces were never seen? For example, Torius Chord and [[Unidentified Blue Squadron pilot 2|another pilot]] were never seen, but would uploading images of their fighters as their infobox images be appropriate? This is Probably Spam...

But I added four images to four articles: [[Unidentified Nikto (Florrum)]], [[Unidentified Nikto 2 (Florrum)]], [[Unidentified Nikto prisoner]], and [[Unidentified Nikto prisoner 2]]

but when I sourced them, it showed up as a red link. I know that I definitely did something wrong, but I'm not sure what. Since these images were screenshots taken from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this is what I did: { {Star Wars: The Clone Wars|Dooku Captured}} Should I have done { {Clone Wars|Dooku Captured}}, or something else? I wanted to ask you two things :) In the Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, there is some information about Phasma's baton or Snoke's place of birth or Snoke's retinue? & If you have found some noteworthy differences between Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (novelization) and the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, did you could include them in subheader about the Differences between the book and the film in the novelization's page. I'm working on this sections currently....

Daggers

Hey so I think the dagger thing just got used everywhere even though it is not really needed, here was where I originally saw it said about them just being used on the events/battle pages. Executor search

It appears like that because the article was vandalized previously. The search entry is pulling a cached copy of that edit since it was from the intro. Hi! I know that some of the episodes of the Clone Wars 2008-2013 (or 2014), are not in chronological order. I was planning to add information on a pirate's appearance in the episode Revival. I was just wondering whether you knew if Revival came before Bound for Rescue. The Ohnaka Gang pages don't really make it too clear which came first. Hello, Mr. Infinitus. I have a brief question. On Director Krennic's article, I noticed you replaced my reference to a twitter comment with something to the effect of "citation needed." What was puzzling was that the twitter comment addressed the chronology at issue -- specifically when a short story takes place. I used the "around this time" language to establish a very general placement on Krennic's article.     • I think it's more likely that it's not a name and more that she was saying it's a sector fleet for the Alliance. So more likely a broad term, but not something that needs an article or mentioned as an alternate name (aka not an "also known as X").       • I still feel that the Mandalorian rebels are simply the Nite Owls, don't think its a new faction or anything, nothing seems to suggest it. I'd say that the individual Airborne/Grappling/Flame troopers could get a page, I agree on moving the page to Mandalorian civil war if that's what a source calls it. Demolition trooper

By defintion, a Stormtrooper that wields a rocket launcher and is a good distance from the battlefield is a Demolition Trooper. That fits the description of the trooper we saw in the episode of Rebels. Also, if you look closely at the Battlefront rocket launcher and the launcher in Rebels, they are identical. Think about it this way, if that was a regular stormtrooper he would be doing his job and shooting at the escaping ship, not haphazzardly picking up a rocket launcher and shooting it.
