Castaways o' Endor

Hi Bob! I would like to find out if there's any info on Kuna's Eye in the article "Castaways of Endor". Axinal pointed me to you, due to your apparent familiarity with the source. If—due to some sort of deus ex machina—you don't happen to be one, do you know any other user who is a member? Thanks in advance.—TK-999 Era-imp(Rise of the Empire) 19:37, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • I used to be a member, but I do have that article saved. And lo and behold, it does mention Kuna's Eye! Here's the relevant passage: "The colony ship Free Enterprise departed from Eriadu approximately 130 years before the Battle of Yavin, carrying several hundred Jinda and mandrill-faced Tulgah settlers. It vanished on its way to Kuna's Eye in the Moddell sector. No one back home learned of its fate until Rebel traders discovered the Forest Moon's flourishing Jinda and Tulgah populations shortly after the Battle of Endor." This is from the first page of the article, if you want page numbers. ~SavageBOB sig 06:37, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Guineo

Hello SavageBob, and thank you for the Guineo information from the strategy guide. I have another Guineo related request for you. If you don't mind, could you get some images of some of the Guineo from Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. An image of the guy at the start of the level would be nice, as well as an image of each Guineo bounty if you can get them. I am hoping to promote the Guineo article to either good or featured status, and all I have is one image to work with. Thanks again for you previous help.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 13:11, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, I'd love to help out, but I actually don't have the game, only the strategy guide, and it doesn't really have any good pictures to scan (they're all way too small). You have two options for images, then. First, I know SinisterSamurai has the game and was able to get an image of Longo Two-Guns from it for me. You might try and post to their talk page to ask about images you need. Secondly, you can try to find a Bounty Hunter walkthrough of the Guineo level on YouTube. The quality will be a lot lower, but if SinSam is not able to help out, this may be your only option. Good luck! ~SavageBOB sig 16:18, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
  • By the way, let me know when you finish expanding Guineo. I'd be happy to do a pre-nom review for you. You'll probably end up with more than 1,000 words, so you can go for FA! ~SavageBOB sig 16:30, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Mimph

Hey Bob, do you think you could take a look at Menkooroo's objections to my Mimph nomination? There seems to be some disagreement on proper sourcing, and it somewhat pertains to you :P. Also, do you know if Castaways of Endor mentions if the magic used by the Ewoks is a manipulation of the Force? I know I read that on this site somewhere, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. Thanks for your help!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 10:47, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Commented on both counts. I've got the FAN page on my watchlist, so I'll keep an eye on the conversation. ~SavageBOB sig 16:56, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Re: CT where art thou

It was discussed, but unfortunately it wasn't decided upon. And then we just forgot to cover it last meeting, likely because the whole issue itself really died down; but I've added it to the next meeting agenda to make sure that we don't forget about it again. Yes, after I finish expanding the article and get enough images for it (which will likely be after my trip), I will nominate the article, so doing them back-to-back would be just find with me. I will give you a message when I am done with my work on the article, and then we can talk about what to do with the nomination, good bye.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 23:23, June 22, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Images of mimphs!

Hey Bob, those are good images that would be great in articles if they could be photoshopped properly. The current problem I have is with the names—"Thrasher" is very clearly the toothless mimph, as he is the only one without the red diamond on his stomach, but I heard the name as "Trasher." That one isn't much of a problem, as the article already has the {{Conjecturespell}} template. A different problem arises with "Masher," however (which I heard as "Smasher." I believe that Masher/Smasher is a separate mimph from the one that is being shown. However, I can't be sure, as all four mimphs are actually offscreen when the name is uttered. So while the Thrasher image might be good for Trasher's article, the Masher image probably wouldn't be so good, as the mimph shown is currently in the Unidentified mimph hunting team leader article. Both images, however, could potentially be very good for the mimph article, as long as we're not too specific with names in the captions. So to make a long story short, yes, these images would be perfectly fine with me for the mimph article, as long as we don't name them specifically, and the Thrasher image would be great for Trasher's article. If you're willing to do the photoshopping, you have my full consent to add these images as you feel necessary.

On closer examination, I see that both images have the names written right there on the page. That would certainly clear up the whole naming problem if the name was written by the artist. Do you know if that is the case? If so, I think we would now have canonical spellings for those names, and a canonical name the hunting team leader. It's entirely possible that "Smasher" and "Masher" are actually two different mimphs, rather than the same mimph's name heard two different ways.

Thank you for asking permission, and for directing me to the site. Cheers!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 01:14, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • Awesome, thank you for finding that out. I'll move their respective articles, and also fix the mimph article.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 01:10, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
  • I've taken the liberty of assuming that Masher and Smasher are indeed two different mimphs, based on evidence from the episode—basically, what I heard as the name "Smasher", being spoken by a voice that, while offscreen, sounds like Masher's. What do you think?—Axinal Convocation Chamber 01:21, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yeah, in lieu of a script or something, I think we're OK. The quality of the online copies of the episode are just too poor to be definitively sure (especially with /S/ sounds), but I'm confident you've sorted the mimphs out as well as possible. Nice work! ~SavageBOB sig 01:30, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
      • Thanks, Bob! Sorry, I forgot yet again to keep the convo to one page. Give me an eSlap across the face next time. :P (For the record, I thought I just made up a word, but I checked Urbandictionary and it's already in there. :( )—Axinal Convocation Chamber 01:49, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

First Nomination

Hello, I was working on an article today, and I think it's worthy of comprehensive status. The article is Shrinkroot potion. I don't know very much about the Ewoks tv show, so I was wondering if you could look over the article before I nominate it and tell me what you think.

Thanks!

Teff 23:00, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, Teff, nice to see the article. It's looking pretty good, but I do have a few suggestions. First, is there a quote from the episode it's featured in or from the comic that you could add to the beginning of the article? Second, it sounds like the potion appears in two sources, but the article currently only seems to talk about one of those two. You should consult the comic it's used in and add any relevant information from that source too. This will require you to use footnotes, as well, since all the information cannot be sourced to just a single source. Finally, be careful of speculation, as it sounds like you're speculating that the effects of the potion are permanent. Let me know if you need any more help! ~SavageBOB sig 23:51, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
    • Okay, thanks for reviewing the article. I don't have access to the comic, so I will have to pick another article that I do have all sources for. But thank you very much for giving me the suggestions! I am still new to Wookieepedia, so I'm still adapting! I intend to contribute to a lot of articles once I am used to Wookieepedia's style. Thanks again! Teff 01:15, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
      • No problem! And don't give up on the potion article just yet; often if you go to the page for the source you lack, click "What links here?" and scroll through the results, you'll find a list of people who own the source you don't have. You can then ask them on their talk page if they could look up the information for you. Unfortunately, I don't see that anyone has the Ewoks Annual. That being the case, you could try IRC, or the Senate Hall. Good luck! ~SavageBOB sig 01:29, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Gand weights and measures

Currently adding it in now (since SAV has weights, it's looking like a good argument for adding a weight field to infoboxes). Looks like Zuckuss is on the light (and short) end of the average for males. Now where to best put that in his article, if such observation is permitted... Trandoshan and sketch cards

Hello SavageBob, since I know you as one to consult with movie adaptations, can you check the Return of the Jedi adaptations for Midge? • Hey, Hanzo. I'd be happy to check the various adaptations, but it will have to wait until next month. I'm in the middle of a move, so all my stuff is packed up. I'd be happy to check as soon as I get the chance, though! ~SavageBOB sig 16:06, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks. He is currently a GAN. I have gotten some info from Menkooroo; I know he is in the PhotoComic, and not in the storybook or the comic books. An adaptation Menkooroo can't access is the Disney book-and-record, an appearance for Palso Thern apparently. Hanzo Hasashi 17:43, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Bob! I'm wondering if you can help me out. I seem to recall that you have Star Wars: Behind the Magic and A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (Third Edition). I'm hunting for info on a skeletal-looking fellow... is there any chance you could help me out? Let me know!

If you do have BTM, I'm also hoping you can tell me if it's where this image comes from. The upload attributes it to ANH, which it's decidedly not a screengrab from. Thanks. Menkooroo 05:46, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, I'm happy to help if I can. I'm not sure of the original source of that image, but the page information for it says that is also appears in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, so Star Wars Encyclopedia might be a good place to check for it too. As for Behind the Magic, I do have it, but it'll be packed away for another few weeks yet before I can get to it, unfortunately. But you're in luck regarding the third edition of AGTTSWU; it's also packed away, but it was in a box I recently had to open to get at something else! WookieeProject: Aliens

Hi SavageBob,

Would you object to being added to the Wookieepedia:WookieeProject Aliens infobox under the "led by" heading? Right now, it lists me as the founder, and I'm not really around very much. It would be good for a more active user to be listed up front as a contact. (I'm not sure if a formal nomination process would have to be made for this -- I suppose we'd just place a note on the forum.) Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 23:17, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, Dan! I think maybe Eyrezer should be listed as the leader. He's been fairly inactive lately, but I'm hoping that's just a symptom of the summer and he'll pick back up in the next month or so. I'll ask him about it; if he thinks his activity level won't come back up a bit, I don't mind "taking over." But I certainly think he's more qualified and experienced than I. :) ~SavageBOB sig 02:07, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Longo Two Guns

Are you still interested in high-res-but-otherwise-PS2-grade shots of Longo Two-Guns? SinisterSamurai 22:50, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

  • I appreciate the query, but I think this image you got earlier is sufficient. The article's not really long enough to support another image. What do you think? ~SavageBOB sig 23:22, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
    • It is a short article. I only ask because I just took like twenty towering shots at 3840 x 2676 @ approx 39mb each pre-crop (gotta love emulators that let you take shots in higher resolutions than the original console) before I realized that you might not still be interested. Now I'm going to go get some giant Guineo shots, as someone put in a request for them a few weeks back. SinisterSamurai 23:39, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
      • Ha! Yeah, I'll trust your judgement. If you think you've got a shot better than the one in the article but that illustrates the same battle, please don't hesitate to upload it. There might also be a use for any images you might have taken of Two-Guns's associates, listed in the Clantaani infobox. ~SavageBOB sig 00:01, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Leffingite 2

Hi Bob! In the Leffingite article, you state that they were attacked by AT-ATs. The source mentions AT walkers. Currently I am CANning the Battle of Almak, and I am not sure that I can add AT-ATs. Do you think AT walker can be interpreted AT-AT, in this case? Darth Morrt 10:08, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, Morrt, unfortunately my copy of that article is on an external harddrive that's packed up right now, so I'm not sure. My notes say "AT-AT," but it's possible I made a mistake. If you have a copy of the article, go with what it says, I guess! ~SavageBOB sig 15:43, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
    • I have the source. "He was an old-fashioned military man and while he viewed the AT walkers as graceless brutes he had to admit they were effective, particularly in subduing the unruly Leffingites in the Battle of Almak." A graceless brute AT walker is most likely an AT-AT, however I think this is actually fanon or OR. Do you mind if I change the Leffingite article to mention on AT walkers instead of AT-ATs? Darth Morrt 17:01, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
      • Please do! Thanks! ~SavageBOB sig 19:48, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Glurrg sources

  • I checked out the Insider's Guide, but it just shows the same concept art that's in the databank. Since these are concept art and not necessarily canon, do you want them in the sources tab? Also, haven't been able to locate information from The Making of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, so if you could look into that, that'd be helpful. I think the rest of the objections are addressed. We're halfway there

Hey Bob..

Hey Bob... good job

So guys, we're nearing the halfway point with this barn-burner. I just want to send out a broad message thanking everyone who has and plans on participating in Wookieepedia's second barn-burner, and update you guys on how it's going so far. So far, we have promoted nine Comprehensive Articles, twelve Good Articles, and one Featured Article! Fantastic job everyone who wrote and reviewed those weapons articles, I couldn't have asked for a better group to do so. We also have a number of current Good and Featured Article Nominations currently up, which you can see here.

However, as we approach the halfway point, I do want to encourage you all to keep writing and reviewing weapon articles for the barn-burner. Our goal should be to meet or surpass the level set by the previous barn-burner, which had over forty promoted articles. While we should aim to pass as many articles as possible by the end of the month, I may extend the barn-burner a little into September for any stragglers, especially for those Users who are writing extremely long Featured Articles for the project.

I should also notify participants of a recent Consensus Track over weapons that is about to pass. The CT is over when we should fill in the "Owners" field for Template:Weapon. Right now, it seems as if we are leaning towards filling in the field for unique weapon types, and not filling in the field for general weapon types. As such, we should fix any weapons we have, or will, write for the barn-burner to fit these new parameters. Thanks you for reading this, and keep up the good work. Hi there, SavageBob! I'd just like to inquire how common Squib names were redundant info. Other species-specific pages have such lists, so why was it a problem here? I'd love a response. Thank you! OtterSurf 17:45, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, OtterSurf. I think I reverted your edit a bit prematurely. I'm working on a revamp of the Squib page, and I include the info you added, only in prose form. You are free to re-add the info, but I will dump my revised draft in there very soon, and the info will, indeed, be included. My apologies for the revert, though; I forgot that I had not yet gone "live" with the new version yet! On a related note, though, the "list of common X names" sections in aliens articles are not bad per se, but we really frown on bulleted lists here at Wookieepedia. It's much better to incorporate the names into the flow of the article and not relegate them to some random section. If you look at the Squib page, there is already a section on names, and the names you added should go there rather than a new section. Similarly, many of those lists are not common names so much as sample names. Most of them come from Wizards of the Coast's Ultimate Alien Anthology, where they are nowhere called common. Just FYI! ~SavageBOB sig 17:38, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

Gotcha. Can do. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! OtterSurf 18:38, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

Nho'Apakk

Hello SavageBob, according to the external which contains the interview detailing the creation of Nho'Apakk, Hasbro has stated the Ewok is male. Does that count as canon, considering the makers of the figure stated it, or would it only be canon if stated by a Lucasfilm official such as Leland Chee? Hanzo Hasashi 04:01, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • You're right! It does indeed say "him" at one point. I've changed the article to reflect this. I'm glad you noticed! ~SavageBOB sig 14:10, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Dr. Fool

Hi Bob,

that's the first time I see this stuff about Jaxxon, Waru, etc.. I tried to find an official source for this, but all I can find about Dr. Fool and the April Fool's day content are these posts on the official forums: 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011 without any mention of all the other stuff from the SWG Wiki article. Official announcements are almost always copy&pasted to SWG fansites and forums, but Google finds this stuff only on the SWG Wiki. And it was never mentioned anywhere in the game either AFAIK. So I'd say the information on the SWG wiki is almost certainly fanon. --Craven 13:13, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

You're right, it's probably just an April Fools' joke. Which is a bit disappointing, it makes the SWG wiki seem less reliable to me. And the chances of verifying/disproving such information about SWG will be much harder once the game (and most likely the website and forums as well) shuts down for good. --Craven 17:16, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

Episode I Adventures 7: Capture Arawynne

Hey Bob. I see from your page that you are apparently ready to write up Ghostling, which means you must have or have access to Episode I Adventures 7: Capture Arawynne. Could I convince you to either write up the Ho'Din Oo Wen or pass on the relevant information to me to write up? --Eyrezer 11:22, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I can at least take notes on him for you. I don't think his role is all that big. Give me a couple days and I'll see what I can do. ~SavageBOB sig 12:28, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

Braha'tok-class

Hey Bob, I just want to remind you again that your last two objections to my Braha'tok-class gunship FAN are addressed, and have been addressed for awhile. Also, if you could look up and see if the gunship appeared in any of the Episode VI comic adaptions, that would be great. Thanks. 01:21, September 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • Whoah, my sincerest apologies. I completely forgot about that article! I'll take a look tomorrow, I swear! ~SavageBOB sig 02:22, September 9, 2011 (UTC)

DV-692 GAN

Hey Bob, just to let you know, you still have an unstruck objection on the DV-692 GAN even though you supported the nomination. Currently this is the only thing preventing the article from passing. Re: Image sizes

No problem. The only reason I set the images equal to 200px was because the sizes weren't defined in the first place—I'm not sure what the default size for images is (I'm assuming it's 250), but it's always best to define that size in the formatting of the image (i.e., [[File:Bleh.jpg|250px|left|thumb]]), which I'd suggest doing. There isn't a policy about image sizes, and image sizes are definitely up to the user, but yeah, I'd recommend making sure that the sizes are defined for each image. Hope that helps. Ewoks

I see you are a fan of the animated Star Wars: Ewoks series. That is cool. I never got a chance to watch those cartoons are they good? I wish they would put them on DVD so that everyone could watch/own them. What do you think about that?(Theforceisstrongwiththisone 16:46, October 9, 2011 (UTC)A.J.Theforceisstrongwiththisone 16:46, October 9, 2011 (UTC))

  • Some of them have been put out on DVD. You should try to find a copy of this set; it includes eight of the first season's episodes. Most of the other episodes can be found on YouTube and other video sharing sites, too. Good luck! ~SavageBOB sig 17:08, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Jungle Felucian

Just wanted to remind you that your objection to the image aspect ratio on the Jungle Felucian nom has been addressed for a couple weeks now without being stricken. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 01:30, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, yeah, thanks. I've been super busy, and was planning to do a full review, and even have the article printed out to do so, but haven't gotten around to it! I should strike though, so thanks for the reminder. ~SavageBOB sig 03:36, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
  • No worries. Believe me, I understand being extremely busy. I just wasn't sure if the 3 week deadline for removing a nom for unanswered objections also applied to the removing of unstricken objections. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 15:55, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

CWA themes

Different themes appear when nearing a holiday or special day of some sort. For example, a week before Hallowe'en the whole game received a makeover. The sky was darkened, there were spiderwebs and pumpkins all over the place and certain costumes became available only around this time. You could purchase a Purple Wampa, a pink Tusken Raider, costumes for your pets and decorations for your living space and more. There was also a special Hallowe'en game. Since Hallowe'en is done, everything is back to normal and the costumes and decorations are no longer able to be bought. When nearing Christmas there will be a Wookiee Life Day theme and around Valentine's Day there is another theme, as well (both with different decorations and costumes). There is about a week before and after these holidays that the themes stay around. In order to buy decorations and costumes and play games you have to be a member. To buy costumes you either use credits or station cash, but you have to be a member either way. I hope this helped!MaxReebo 16:59, November 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, thanks! That does help. I was just curious what caused the theme change, and if it was optional, but it sounds like it affects everyone. I'll try to update the article soon! ~SavageBOB sig 02:07, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Triffians

Okay, the mention is in relation to Senators giving gifts to Palpatine. "And, upon learning of Palpatine's love of antiquities, the Triffian Senator Eelen Li gave Naboo's esteemed representative a near-prehistorical stone carving of a Triffian from one of her planet's museums." Timeframe wise, the event occurs during Palpatine's tenure as Senator of Naboo. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 22:28, November 18, 2011 (UTC)

No mention of Triffis at all there, but a little digging reveals a mention of Triffis here. Hope that helps :) - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 22:38, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
