The Orkellian cave slug,[1] also known as the Orkellian space slug,[4] was a type of blind slug[1] native to the Orkellia system[3] of the Mid Rim.[2] Around 1000 BBY,[5] the newly-proclaimed Dark Lord of the Sith Bane compared his fellow Dark Lord Skere Kaan's ignorance about the potential of the dark side of the Force to the blindness of an Orkellian cave slug.[1] A millennium later, that same disability of the slug was compared by the smuggler Han Solo to waiting in his starship, the Millennium Falcon, while its sensor array was under repair.[4]

The Orkellian cave slug was first mentioned in Drew Karpyshyn's 2006 novel Darth Bane: Path of Destruction.[1]
