Lutrillian mugshot

If you don't use the image it in an article soon, it's going to end up deleted by Darth Culator's weekly unused image purge. - JMAS 20px Hey, it's me! 20:28, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • It's being used in the Lutrillian article as a soft link to the image, so I'll just delete it from his list once it gets updated. I've done this before with images in Ranat, for example. ~ SavageBob 20:33, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

A favor

Hey, I heard that you have the Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide. When you have some time, could you please see if there is any information on Lott Dod? Thanks in advance. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 18:56, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sure, I'll check for you this weekend. ~ SavageBob 20:48, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
  • Dod is mentioned three times in the program, plus there is a trivia question about him where you have to choose his image out of four Neimoidian characters from the film. The text mentions of him are here. Hope this helps! ~ SavageBob 01:38, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Linking colors

Hey Bob,

Sorry I took this long to respond. I asked a couple of folks, and there's really nothing stating that color disambigs should be treated differently than regular ones, though no one that I talked to spoke against it. It was just a practice I picked up along the way, but if you feel comfortable removing the links I have no problem with that.Tommy 9281 17px (Mechno-chair)

Thanks for the followup. I think I'll continue to not link them, but I won't revert you or anyone else who wants to link them if they choose to do so. :) ~ SavageBob 15:51, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

A bit late, but anyway...

...congrats on becoming the Wookieepedian of the month! :P --Xd 14:15, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

Nah, it won't be too late until April. :) Thanks! ~ SavageBob 17:18, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
Okey, let's see: I congratulate you on your personal victory in the WotM race but I personally regret that the nomination you made, for which I thank you, did not win. But I cannot wish you better luck next time. Anyway, believe it or not, I'm glad you are WotM before I can become one. Skippy Farlstendoiro 11:36, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm glad things seem to be working out (knock on wood). Thanks for your kind words, and I look forward to being able to return them next month. :) ~ SavageBob 15:47, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, El Skandito! Thank you for your support and for taking the time to write a congratulation line. Everything is proceeding as you had foreseen. Yay! Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:05, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Skandit

You know you could put Skandit straight up for FA? It's long enough, and will be even further over with an intro expansion. Short FANs like this should get through far quicker than those the length of Xamster... --Eyrezer 02:13, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm. Good point. I sometimes forget that some shorter stuff is OK for FA as well! I'll take it there instead. ~ SavageBob 03:13, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
By the way, despite my initial edit summary, there probably is some new Squib info in the Mos Eisley Adventure Set. --Eyrezer 21:58, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up! I'll check it out. ~ SavageBob 04:39, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Objection

About the neutrality of the ZH during the Galactic Civil War, did you read about it in the Essential Atlas? It wasn't in my notes. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 07:18, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, from the section on Clyngunn in the article, it sounds like the Imperials were trying to ensure he adhered to his species' neutrality. I could have misread it, but I was taking that from the article itself. ~ SavageBob 16:13, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

CineManga

Hey Bob. As far as I know, the TokyoPop CineMangas are the international versions, if you will, of the PhotoComics. You could probably add the ANH PhotoComic to the Yam'rii list based on that. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:35, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • I think you're right; the covers are identical. Which begs the question of whether they should be treated as separate articles at all, but I guess I'll work with it for now. ~ SavageBob 17:42, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Episode I Insider's Guide

Hey SavageBob. As you're the only person I know on the site who has access to the Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide, I was wondering if you could get some info for me. I'm looking for any mentions of Quinlan Vos and Eeth Koth, as I intend to work on both. Thank you for your time. CC7567 (talk) 21:51, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Phuii

I see you are working on the Phuii page. Looking at the top quote on that page, that quote in not from the stated source. You might want to find another quote to replace it with if you are planning to get it up to FA or GA status. - JMAS 20px Hey, it's me! 22:48, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Unknown Regions Species

Hey, SavageBob, I was hoping you could help me with something. I've been unable to find some of the species you listed in the Unknown Regions appearances entry. In no way am I doubting you, it's just that I've read most of the book, but I may have missed some mentions. I was hoping you'd be able to tell me what sections or chapters you found Arized, Kanzer Exiles, Taurannix, Velmoc, and Xaxax. Again, I'm not trying to second-guess you at all, I'm only hoping to work on expanding or creating these articles, and yet I'm unable to find them in the book. If you're able, please help me out! Thanks --Demos Traxen 18:19, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • Brief edit - I just found the Kanzer Exiles and the Taurannix mentions in the Sorcerers of Rhand entry, though I'm not sure the Taurannix is a species. It could be an individual or organization.--Demos Traxen 18:23, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
    • This is why we should require page references on all our articles! :) You're right that Taurannix may not be a species. Let's see... Xaxax is an extinct species mentioned on p. 69; the Arized are mentioned in the "Surfeik Cruiser" entry on p. 154; and the Velmoc (as "Velmorians") are mentioned in the Ycaqt entry on pp. 63–64. As I read through the rest of the book, I'll try to be sure to include <!--page references--> when I add a species to the list. ~ SavageBob 18:59, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
      • Thanks for the page numbers! I think we're almost done, species-wise, with this book. All that's left, unless I've missed some names, is the Near-Human species throughout the book... I'll get to those soon! It's a shame they didn't have more time or room on this book - in Daniel Wallace's blog, it seems very clear that he wished to put a lot more new info in the book! --Demos Traxen 00:10, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
        • Wow, I just said "book" too many times in that comment. Got a little excited.--Demos Traxen 00:11, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
          • Ha ha, no worries! My main beef with the, er, book is that the sample planets in it are not at all unknown. Most of them have been known to the outside galaxy in one form or another for millennia, and some have even had conflicts with the Jedi, the Sith, the Mandalorians, the Empire, etc. It's pretty silly. The book should have been called Wild Space, since that would make more sense. I was expecting to find the Unknown Regions to be its own sort of closed-off region with minimal contact with the outside. A brand new area for outsiders to explore, where they find that the politics are more about how the Chiss deal with the O'reenians, not how the O'reenians deal with the Jedi or whatever. Bleh. ~ SavageBob 02:08, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
            • Yeah, I agree with the statement about the planets. It seemed that only 244 Core had a self-contained history. The planets were definitely more Wild Space (especially O'reen), but I think the Threats section was extremely well done, creating a sort of alternate galaxy, with common threats like the Vagaari and Mnggal-Mnggal, the Lugubraa (basically the Rodians and Gammoreans of the UR), and a law and order species in the Chiss. Daniel Wallace said in his blog that he was definitely trying to create a separate world, where even though trade and interactions of any kind were dangerous and sporadic, there was still an overarching community to the Unknown Regions. That turned out to be my favorite idea of the book, and obviously considering my recent edits on here, the part I most embraced. Now if I only actually played the game... --Demos Traxen 18:00, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

Delphanian

Do you want to GA these guys? Looks like you've already largely worked on it. --Eyrezer 20:58, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

  • The history section needs expansion with information about their role in Death Troopers, and I won't have time to do it for a while. They should eventually be GA'd, yeah, but don't hesitate to take over if you were considering them. ~ SavageBob 22:10, May 23, 2010 (UTC)
    • Ok. I'm just reading Death Troopers at the moment. I may do some work on it. I know of two others that could be GANed without too much effort - Neo-Bespinian and Kon'me - and I am also thinking about whether I can get a bit more info for Unidentified Cilpar species. And then I also need to continue working on Revwien and pick up Xi Charrian again! --Eyrezer 22:32, May 23, 2010 (UTC)
      • Oh, cool; do take notes on the Delphanians as you go, then. My least favorite part of researching species articles is reading through the novels for their role in them, since I usually don't have time to read the novel properly. :) Those other articles look good; I'm working on Geelan for a potential FA run before I take my Wookieebreak, but it's a longshot that I'll get it done in time. ~ SavageBob 23:10, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Yuvernian

Holy crap! I figured you and Skippy would review the article, but that was mega-quick. Thank you for that. If you could help me out with The art of ROTJ and Behind the Magic I'd be very grateful. And the manga if you have it? Thanks so much! Menkooroo 15:33, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Scratch Manga. Got it. Menkooroo 15:37, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

Kobok

Hey, I was wondering if you think Kobok might be able to be nominated for Good Article status. I don't think there's enough source material out there for FA, but I think it's a pretty good write-up. Any thoughts?--Demos Traxen 00:22, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • I actually have quite a lot of notes taken on the species that would probably push it into the FA range. You could always go for GA now, though, and I could expand it later. It's been on my back burner for a long time, so don't hesitate if you want to do stuff with it. ~ SavageBob 02:55, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
  • Actually, let me know if you want to try to expand it more. As long as you promise to source the article to individual page numbers, I can send you my notes on the species, which would show you what still hasn't been added to the article. :) ~ SavageBob 02:59, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
    • I'd love to! And to do my best sourcing (I know I fail at it, often). Just let me know - I'm always game for reading new information, especially since I thought it had already been exhausted. --Demos Traxen 04:08, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
    • No worries about the sourcing; we all have to learn somehow, right? This might be a good article for you to practice on. At any rate, much of the information that is not currently in the article comes from reading Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds a bit more closely in some cases, from watching the Droids episodes in a few others, and from describing in prose a lot of the features of Kobok that we see in the images we have. Here are my notes: User:SavageBob/Sandbox2. Feel free to edit the page, cross stuff off, do whatever. I'll leave the article to you, DT; make it shine! :) ~ SavageBob 04:41, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
      • Hey SB, how's it going. I'm still working on the Kobok article, slowly but surely. I do have a few questions however that I hope you can clear up. First of all, your notes say they grow fuzz, which can also grow long enough to be made into pony tails. Was it Gaff that showed this trait, or another Kobok? Since it can't be seen in any images, nor referenced in GATORW, I'm a little vague on that aspect. Thanks!--Demos Traxen 17:11, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
        • Hey, DT. Yeah, my notes say I got that from The Roon Games, so it would be Gaff who demonstrated that trait. Sorry, I didn't explain my system very well, but in the sandbox page with the notes, the parenthetical bit after the note is the source I took it from, so TRG would be The Roon Games. You can probably find the episode by searching it on Google Video or YouTube if you want to see the chin ponytail; it should appear at some point! ~ SavageBob 21:00, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
          • Oh no, don't worry, I definitely got your system. It was only a matter of matching the initials to the source list. I'll definitely try to hunt down that episode to see his rapid-growth insect beard.--Demos Traxen 00:11, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
            • One last question before the major edit is complete: How much of Gaff's history is too much for a species article? Including it all seems silly, though he is the only individual Kobok as of now. I wouldn't rule out updating his page myself, with your research, but I didn't want to expand that section on the species page beyond what's acceptable for this site.--Demos Traxen 00:54, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
              • Hmm. I generally try to keep it down to one or two paragraphs max. You want to cover the arc of his career, but not in too much detail. And if people object that it's not enough, it's always possible to go in and add more later! ~ SavageBob 16:53, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • For the pronunciation, I was merely adhering to Wikipedia's "Pronunciation respelling for English" to aid those who do not know how to read the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Perhaps a better respelling would be BAW-thin, BAW-thuhn, or BAH-thuhn? Also, by the way, I do understand IPA, and additionally I believe, if the first syllable is pronounced "baw" (as opposed to "bah"), then the IPA transcription of it should be /'bɒθɪn/ (as opposed to /'bɑθɪn/). Image map

Hey Bob. It seems we were both working on the map at the same time. I checked the RC before saving mine on a hunch and so only added in the few GAs in the south that were not in your last edit. Are you now working on the GAs? Doing it systematically is probably the best approach, but I was being a little lazy and just working off the first map I had uploaded. It actually looks pretty cool the way we have it now. --Eyrezer 05:40, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • Whoops! Well, I'm done with it for the night, so you should feel free to work all you need to for the next 8 hours or so. :) The FAs should be done, so that leaves only the GAs and CAs. ~ SavageBob 06:06, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

On RPG stats

  • I think this deserves consideration. Information of that kind commonly appears when dealing with RPG sources, and its canonicity should be considered one way or the other. While you were away, when I nominated this character, I decided to include info on his RPG stats as BtS stuff. These two objections prompted me to re-consider it. This led to a discusion through my talkpage and Tope's. User Darth Morrt found Chee's quote. After this, apparently the decision was "RPG stats are canon." I wouldn't like to address your objection and suddenly find more. Would you mind if we first discuss this through our talkpages? Maybe we could invite these other Wookieepedians too. Skippy Farlstendoiro 18:15, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
    • Oh, I think I and many other users have been misinterpreting that comment for a while now. It does indeed sound like he's saying they're treated as at least a guideline unless and until contradicted by a later source. I think I'll continue to put them in BTS simply as a style decision, but I won't object if you want to include them elsewhere. ~ SavageBob 19:04, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

Watchlist

So, I was reading your user page and I noticed this line:

I really hate the changes Wikia has made lately to the way the site works, so this is a shortcut for me to reach my Watchlist. Ugh.

Grunny set this up for me. It replaces the (rightful) watchlist up at the top of all pages. It sometimes takes a second or two to load up, so if you've got a slower connection it may not be ideal. SinisterSamurai 11:09, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

      • Something similar happened with Troxan, although I think that was a Wookieepedia error, not an Atlas thing. At least Kloperian netted us another square on the galaxy map! ~ SavageBob 03:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Re:R3-S6

Since R3 is from TCW, mainly all his information came from TCW-related sources. In those sources, however, there's no technical information other than he sports an R2 head dome, he's 1.1 meters, and was manufactured from Industrial Automaton on Nubia. In the CSWE, his entry is relativity short and only mentions what he had done in the two episodes he appeared in. Hope this helps, Bob. I've been working on R3 since July in my sandbox. Re: Convention of Civilized Systems

They are mentioned on page 135. Here's the passage straight from the book: "...the Arquata Station Amendments to the Convention of Civilized Systems covered sentient species that lived in multiple systems but didn't appear capable of interstellar travel—a classification that covered everything from colonies descended into barbarism to populations "seeded" by other species, such as the Arkanians or the ancient Rakata." Speech Bubbles

Hey, Bob --- I noticed that you removed the text from the speech bubble when you recropped the Corellian flame miniatures main image. Isn't it the Wook's policy to include text if the entire speech bubble is visible in the image? Menkooroo 15:30, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

    • Actually, I didn't know we had a policy on this. Can you point it out? I'd just noticed others cutting out the text, and I figured it made sense (since the image is being used for illustration, not for its text), but I suppose I could be wrong. ~ SavageBob 16:47, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Guudrian

I had no actual plans to GA Guudrian, although I daresay I probably would have gotten to it at some point. Lots of other articles on the plate at the moment :) I'll have to check on the article front; I should have a file somewhere detailing character appearances, and Boom's article is half-written on my hard drive. I'd be pleased to help you out in the same way that I helped out Skippy. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 15:10, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sorry, Bob; I did see the original message, but my Wook time has been limited of late. I've looked over the article and done some correction to the appearances/sources - basically, the entire of "Endgame" is one large adventure (with the exception of one small text story at the start), so I usually just add it to the sources. All other DS-related articles so far do it this way, so I changed it for uniformality. Also added a "1st" tag. I can't find Boom in any other adventure, and the stuff you've got in there is pretty much the extent of my notes on the pyromaniac, so I see no issues at the moment. If I come across anything else, though, I'll be sure to let you know. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 20:59, October 9, 2010 (UTC)
    • After looking at the sourcebook, I think we may both be right. Endgame, as in the book, should be in the sources section. However, a new article, titled Endgame (RPG adventure) should probably be created as well, which would then go in the appearances section. Its just a case of keeping the adventure and the book as separate articles. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 21:11, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
      • The purpose would be to differentiate between material from the actual adventure, material from the short story The Saga Ends, and material from the various OOU information sources, such as the crew notes and background to the planet Kathol which are not part of the adventure itself. Despite my assertion above that the book is one large adventure, I've realised that it isn't, really. Its a large part, yes, but fully half the book is given over to other material such as background information. Each book in the DS series has multiple adventures that have articles of their own, so this would be no different. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 22:32, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
        • I'd say two articles for clarity's sake. It's a little confusing, considering that they are the same name, but the logic I used was "If this adventure was called something else, I would give it a separate article." Title it as Endgame (RPG adventure). I can create the article tomorrow since I have some familiarity with the subject :P - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 22:45, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
          • No problem. Its no different, really, from the following example; The Unknown Regions sourcebook from WotC gets an article, but so does the mini-adventure The Mask of Darth Nihilius. Info directly relating to the adventure is sourced to the adventure, and it goes in the appearances section as a narrative piece of work, but TUR is placed in the Sources section as well. When it comes to WEG ... well, DarkStryder is a little different due to its narrative and story telling arcs. That's why I created the template for the adventures, and individual articles for each adventure. Also, you'll need to add The DarkStryder Campaign, Deluxe to the source list. Its only a reprinted box set of the entire series, so there's no new info. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 23:19, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Favor?

Hey Bob,

I was wondering if you could do me a favor! I'm assuming you have the NEGTAS (just a shot in the dark :^P ), and I was wondering if you could quickly check something for me. The text-searchable amazon preview gave me a bunch of info about Alyn Rae, but was limited to: "... or even a simple machine can cause them pain or disorientation. However, one inventive Gotal businessman named Alyn Rae recently develiped a chemical-based "cone sock" garment that covers a Gotal's cones and filters out EM emissions, allowing other transmissions to pass through." If it's not too much to ask, I'm wondering if you can check the Gotal entry and see if there's any more info after that? Our Gotal article mentions that cone socks were expensive at first and sources it to the NEGTAS, and Alyn Rae's entry on the CUSWE mentions that he worked with a bunch of non-Gotals to develop it, but that might just be conjecture, which I've seen in small doses on the CUSWE before... Anyway, if you don't have time, no worries, and if you do, thank you so much! Menkooroo 06:02, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sure thing: The rest of the paragraph on Rae (picking up immediately after "pass through") goes: "He developed these garments with the assistance of several offworld scientists who could better use the equipment necessary to design and construct them. These preliminary cone socks are expensive, and usually only the most affluent Gotals wear them. Even so, more and more Gotals have been seen sporting them in galactic society—seeing the cost as a necessary sacrifice to make their lives abroad a little more peaceful." Hope this helps! (And by the way, the actual Gotal article needs a facelift if you're up to it... ) ~ SavageBob 06:08, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • Thank you so much! That's really awesome of you. And yeah, fixing up Gotal would be the perfect way to cap off Gotal week, but I don't know if I'm the person for the job... :S Menkooroo 06:17, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Past/Present

Hey Bob,

I was wondering if I could pick your brain a little bit about the past/present tense bts issue. I've always thought that it's really just a matter of personal choice of whether or not to use past or present tense in the bts when there's only one appearance --- I don't think I've seen anyone but you use the present so consistently, but I think that either one works fine, really. I've noticed you changing the tense in the bts of my and some others' noms lately, but don't you think a change a like that should probably warrant some discussion first? I always go for past tense for consistency's sake (consistency between all bts's, that is), and even if there is only one appearance, it still makes sense and reads fine, ya know? Menkooroo 00:01, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey, Menk. Yeah, it is confusing. It's called the "literary present tense," and it's basically a way to indicate that a work of fiction still exists and should be spoken about as if it still exists (as do the stories and things in it). Here's a good primer on the concept. I admit that I sometimes go too present-tense; as you'll see in this link, we're supposed to use the past tense when discussing historical events like "Such-and-such was published in 19diggity2." However, the link also shows that there are cases when both must be used, even within the same sentence, as you'll see. At any rate, what I'm trying to do (and admittedly imperfectly) is to adhere to academic style (and, hence, encyclopedic style). I hope that makes some modicum of sense! :) ~ SavageBob 01:31, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
    • Oh, yeah, it totally makes sense. There's nothing incorrect about "So and so appears on one page of this work, etc". I'm just trying to assert that literary past tense makes sense, too, and is commonly-enough used on the Wook that it's probably not the best idea to remove it when copy-editing other people's noms. I always go for literary present when doing the in-universe Plot summary or Characters sections of OOU articles, but literary present isn't always the best way to go --- eg, the OOU section of a Characters section reading "Kalenda appeared in the Corellian Trilogy before she appeared in Agents of Chaos." If you want to support a widespread push towards literary present tense, go for it, but maybe a SH thread or a CT would be the best way to go, rather than editing the bts's of others' CANs GANs and FANs, ya know? Menkooroo 02:01, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
      • Oh, like I said, I've probably been overzealous in some of my changes. But I think, in general, BTS information that pertains to the fictional information contained in the source should adhere to literary present unless it just logically doesn't make sense. So, in your example above, I'd agree with you, since the sentence seems to be taking a real-world frame of reference primarily. But in a case like Siro, it makes sense (and sticks to the literary present guideline as I understand it) that Siro appears early in the novel and then dies soon thereafter, since here, our frame of reference is primarily within the fiction itself. I intend to continue copy editing noms how I think is best, but if people want to dispute something I do, they are free to do so. I'm not trying to be a jerk about this, but I do want to make sure our articles adhere to best academic practices as best I know how, and others are free to disagree with my interpretation of that goal. (Read the preceding in the voice of Krusty the Klown. Everything sounds all snippety and pissed off in plain black and white otherwise.) ~ SavageBob 03:17, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
        • Adhering to best academic practices is definitely an admirable goal, but rather than be a one-man crusader, mightn't it be best to get some consensus? If you bring this up in a CT or SH discussion, it might turn out the community agrees with you. Menkooroo 04:18, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
          • Let me sleep on it. It's been a long day. :) ~ SavageBob 04:34, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
            • Fair enough. :^D Just a bit more elaboration, though --- from what I've seen, most FA/GA/CA writers here tend to go for past tense as often as possible, so if you have academic sources to back up present tense (which you do!), I feel like a forum thread bringing the issue up might be the best road. Sticking to just changing the tense in the bts's of others' noms might give off a "Trust me, I'm right" kinda vibe. Menkooroo 05:03, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
              • Well, I do write an awful lot of academic papers on films, so there is an element of "trust me" involved. :) But how's this? Feel free to edit it; I want to make sure it's a fair-handed representation of both styles and not come off as preferring one over the other (that's for the discussion below the proposal/whatever). I'm not sure whether it's more appropriate for a SH or CT thread. ~ SavageBob 15:52, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

About the Lutrillian

Hi, I noticed that you added File:Leesub and the Colonel.png, I'm now asking who is this Colonel you meant to link in the description, something else than this? But good that you corrected that Lutrillian change I made, didn't really know there's two even after checking the cantina scene several times. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 16:59, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey, Tm. Yep, there seem to be two Lutrillians in the cantina. Check out Pablo Hidalgo's personal website here for a good overview of where each alien is, including these two. I plan to untangle the BTS information on Lutrillian in the next couple of days, since I think it currently implies that there was only one Lutrillian. I may give the Colonel (not the same one you linked to above) his own page, but for now I thought it'd be better to have the image instead of a redlink. There are probably still quite a few cantina patrons who don't have articles, judging from Hidalgo's count. :) ~ SavageBob 22:04, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

Morseerian

Hey, Tope and I were going over dates, and we've not been able to locate a solid source that puts Morseerian first contact in 12,000 BBY. Since you used the date in the Morseerian article, did you have a source that stated that date outright? DD97Which bear is best? 19:58, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • No worries, Bob. I wasn't sure what the source said, but now that I do I agree completely that the Morseerian article is fine. The 12,000 BBY article could probably also benefit from a mention of this after all. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:12, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

Inq

I feel it's best to respond to you here rather than perpetuating this issue on any of the Inq pages. To respond to your most recent comment, yes, I think each of your posts in regards to recent Inqmoot decisions that have affected articles you have an interest in have come off as extremely condescending, particularly where you seem to have "taken the fight," as it were, to Fiolli personally for daring to raise issue with the article at the meeting. And I only find it further symptomatic that you continue to have a rather defensive, combative attitude in your most recent post directed at myself. I neither interpreted your comment as a "personal attack," nor am I "pissed off" that you're investigating the issue. On the contrary, I'm glad you were able to clear the Saelt-Marae issue up, because I was a bit unsure of it all myself. But the way in which you seem to be attempting to make everyone else look unreasonable through all of this is rather uncalled for, and I would ask you to please cool it. I was only attempting to clarify the issue for you at your request, and nothing in my post was intended to be negatively directed at you to any extent, so there's no reason for you to interpret it as such. In other words, assume good faith when interacting with other users. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:35, December 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • First off, we should both remember (or I should) that everything comes off as a couple of shades more pissed off in plain text. I misinterpreted your response to my Saelt-Marae post as being angry with me, so that's what I was responding to. I should have assumed good faith; you're right, and I apologize about that. As for Fiolli, I think he got the brunt of some frustration I've been feeling with the INQ in general, and for that I should apologize to him. I have no beef with Fiolli at all, and I hope he hasn't interpreted my comments as if I have. In a nutshell, I would like to see probe only happen to articles if potential problems have been first mentioned on the articles' talk pages. This would allow FA authors the chance to responde before a probe becomes necessary and keep us in the loop, rather than the surprise probes we get now. Again, this is a disagreement I have with the INQ in general, and not with Fiolli or you, so my apologies again. ~ SavageBob 03:05, December 15, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Ahsoka talk page

Hey, SavageBob. To be honest, a lot of topics in that talk page are off topic, and only are appropriate for forums/message boards. Generally if a group of anons or newer contributors talk there, they make bad edits in the article itself. More recently as seen here and here. Speculation only attracts more bad edits to the article, and really the talk page should be only used for article improvements, and not talking about subject. Previously, myself and others have tried to tell people on the talk page that it's not meant to discuss about the subject, but it seems no one pays any attention to those comments or to the talk page header template. This is what I think of it. :P JangFett (Talk) 05:12, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Hello!

Hello Bob,

OK! I know that I haven't been as active in trying to save the Gotals as I would have liked, buuuuuut this weekend I will have some time and can update for the Hostage standoff stuff/a bit more about Trevagg and Nightlily. I will do it! :D You have my word. Also, I was wondering if I could ask you a favor. Two of the three sections of a CT I started two weeks ago are one vote away from reaching quorum --- would you be able to give the CT a look and a vote? Either for or against; I'm just hoping for quorum. I know that it's pretty long, which has deterred people from bothering with it so far, but it would mean a lot to me if you could give it a look. If not, no worries. Have a good day! Menkooroo 05:16, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey! It looks like Eyrezer provided the tenth vote (hooray!). So, if the length of the CT is intimidating, don't worry about it, as quorum has been reached. :^P But my promise to help with Gotal still stands! Menkooroo 07:10, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
    • Good deal. I've been meaning to check out the CT anyway, and I do plan to read through it today. As for Saving the Gotals, thanks! Honestly, what needs doing the most is a) going through the remaining unstruck sources/appearances and finding out what they have to say about Gotals, and b) killing redlinks in the article. But any help at all is much appreciated, so thanks! :) ~ SavageBob 15:54, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

TC formatting

Hey Bob. When you create a new TC thread, you should, below your rationale for deletion, add headers for voting options and discussion, as well as your vote under the appropriate header, as I have done here. Keep that in mind for the future. :) Oh, and you should add your sig under "delete" on that TC, otherwise it won't be counted as a vote. Thanks. Re: Morseerian

Hello, Bob. I apologize for the lengthy absence. I accept your apology, although I confess that I was not personally offended by it. As far as procedure, from an Inq's perspective, probing is not a demotion… it just puts an article on watch. I never thought of anything malicious by suggesting we look at it when the issue arose. I very, very strongly disagree with you that 12,000 BBY can be used as a hard date for when they came into contact with the galactic community, however. I'm sure we can work out a way to word it in the article so that it is as ambiguous as it is in the prose without losing any information. I'll take a look at it before the next Inq meeting to make sure that it doesn't lose its status. Merry belated Christmas and 'Happy New Year.' Fiolli; 20:32, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Gotal

Hey there! It looks like you've already taken care of the Gotal stuff surrounding the hostage standoff and Trevagg. I added some more info from the DFR sourcebook today, though. Are there any sources in particular you'd like help hunting down? Menkooroo 09:17, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey, thanks for the help, Menk! I have access to most of the stuff still unstruck on the list, but any help combing through them would be great. What I also noticed is that there are still some folks from Gotal Week (articles that were nominated for various statuses during that time) that are still not mentioned in the main Gotal article. Adding those Gotals might be as simple as transferring relevant information from their articles. ~ SavageBob 18:44, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

RECG

Hey Bob, stumbled across an Ugor mention in the Rebellion Era Campaign Guide, which I added to the Sources list: "The Ubrikkian Industries 9000 Z004 landspeeder is an all-species adaptation of its Z001 model, which was designed for Ugors." I think you probably have it in the article, but that's the sentence anyway. Cheers. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:33, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • Cool; thanks for the assist! I'll make sure that tidbit is mentioned in the article. ~ SavageBob 20:46, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Another user's invalid objection of one of my CA noms

Hi SavageBob, on the CA noms last week, the user brightfur made what I believe to be an invalid objection for my RGA-972 nomination, and even formatted wrong. Here is the objection word for word: This article needs a biography segment. Instead of listing everything in the intro, put a more detailed recount in a biography segment. brightfur 02:31, January 13, 2011 (UTC) A few days ago, I saw he made a similar invalid objection to the Bolvan GA nom page, now archived, and Toprawa and Ralltiir simply reverted it because it was not formatted properly. Would any EC's be able to just get rid of his objection, both for being invalid and for the reasons Toprawa deleted a similar one he made? Hanzo Hasashi 00:56, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hmm. I've left a note that Brightfur's objection is non-actionable. Hopefully they'll stick around and review, but not in a way that ignores CA rules! :) ~ SavageBob 01:10, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks. I hope that the issue can be solved in due time. :) Hanzo Hasashi 01:16, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Old woman's cloth

Hi Bob! Thanks for checking the Making book again. If you find any info regarding the Sun shawl, please update that article too. Thanks. Darth Morrt 17:47, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • OK, will do! :) ~ SavageBob 17:51, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Teaching Bears how to dance

Hey! I only have one piece of information from the book, and that's only because it was repeated in an Insider article --- "Lumpy's voice, provided by a baby black bear named Tarik, was added during post-production by sound designer Ben Burtt." (my words). If there's more than that, yeah, I'd be really grateful if you could drop me a line on my talk page. :) You are wonderful! Menkooroo 08:18, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • Amazing! Thank you so much. Also, I just realized that I replied on your talk page instead of my own. Whoops. :P Menkooroo 23:11, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Gauron Nas Tal

Hi Bob, I saw the work you've been doing on the Saurin page, and you said that Gauron Nas Tal died when the Khetanna was destroyed during the Skirmish at Carkoon. Is that indeed confirmed? I thought no source confirmed that, which is also why a couple years back I actually got rid of that from his bio. Hanzo Hasashi 19:33, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • I had the very same questions when I first expanded Saurin. I don't actually have access to that Insider issue, but I asked Azizlight about it, and he said that the issue does confirm Nas Tal's death with a skull-and-crossbones logo next to his name (which the issue uses for dead people). My question to AL is here: User_talk:Azizlight#Gauron_Nas_Tal_in_Insider. Hope this helps! ~ SavageBob 20:05, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I took a look at that, and you are right. Hanzo Hasashi 22:07, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Im wondering

How did you change your Avatar picture?(Toranax99 02:42, January 25, 2011 (UTC))

  • Hey, Toranax! I'm by no means a wiki expert, but as far as I know, you have to click on your "preferences" and then choose it there. The location of "preferences" may vary depending on what skin you're using; for me, it's at the upper-right side of the screen. I hope this helps! ~ SavageBob 06:26, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you this helps(Toranax99 16:35, January 25, 2011 (UTC))

  • You're welcome! ~ SavageBob 17:15, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Praji

Hi Bob! Could you check the Making of ANH for Nahdonnis Praji? Some info was added to the BTS already before I began expanding the article, it may come from this book, but worth a check. Darth Morrt 02:44, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hmm. A cursory search doesn't seem to bring him up (or Roubicek). I may be able to tease out when his scenes were filmed, so I'll keep you posted. ~ SavageBob 06:11, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
  • There appears to be no mention of him in the book. :( However, the BTS information that's in the Praji article now jives with what I'd guess from the Making of book, since all the white hallway scenes were filmed at that time. ~ SavageBob 06:24, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

CAN objections

Hi Bob, last week you made some objections to my CA noms, which I have since responded to. Can you respond to my actions, to see if I have satisfied those objections? Hanzo Hasashi 19:01, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

  • Sorry to come again, but have you forgotten about RGA-972? Also, brightfur seems to have renounced his objection, in the fact he said he understood that his objection was invalid, however it has not been struck. Should it still be assumed as an actively existing objection? Hanzo Hasashi 18:05, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sorry! Overlooked that one. Brightfur will have to strike his/her own objection, so perhaps drop a line on his/her talk page? I can do so sometime later today, maybe; things are heating up at school, though, so I'm finding myself with less and less time to edit. :( ~ SavageBob 19:43, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
        • Yea, I myself will probably have even less time as school progresses. I will post something on Brightfur's talk page about it. Hanzo Hasashi 21:37, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Nosaurians in Knight Errant

Hey SavageBob, I've only read the first six chapters, and that's the only chapter in which I've seen them so far. I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers, but basically, Daiman hires a bunch of mercs to set up an ambush. On of the mercs is a so-far nameless Nosaurian. He's really only mentioned in one paragraph, in which he "emitted a series of warbling squaks. Rusher didn't know the language, but he figured he question. 'How do we know he won't bomb us from orbit before he lands?'" So far, that's the only time I've seen them. As you can see, there's really no new information. I'll keep you updated if I happen to see them again throughout the book. Axinal Convocation Chamber 13:45, January 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'd be happy to help. So far, he's only been mentioned a couple other times. He is mentioned fighting for Daiman against Odion's Death Spiral at the Battle of Gazzari, though still no details or name. Axinal Convocation Chamber 16:53, January 31, 2011 (UTC)
  • Hey SavageBob, I just finished Knight Errant. Aside from what I have told you, I saw no mention of the Nosaurian in the novel, though I think your idea of an Unidentified Nosaurian mercenary page is a good one. If you're interested in creating that, I'd be happy to provide any information you need. Axinal Convocation Chamber 00:46, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

Vodran and Nazzar

Hi Bob, here is the information you requested:

  • A Vodran appears on p.129, in chapter 8. The page reveals that a number of Vodrans fought for the Sith Lord Daiman during the Battle of Gazarri. The Jedi Knight Kerra Holt encounters one of the Vodrans, wwho is lying in the mud, legless and bleeding, and it fires its rifle at her.
  • A Nazzar appears on pages 331 and 332, in chapter 23. On those pages, a Nazzar, who serves the Arkadianate, is present on the planet Syned, where he is driving an icecrawler, which was to be used to transport refugees from the starship Diligence to Calimondretta, the world's capital. However, Jarrow Rusher, the captain of the Diligence, killed the Nazzar, whilst his crewmen killed the other Arkadianites in the vehicle, so that they could use the crawler in an attack on Calimondretta. --Jinzler 21:08, January 29, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sorry, I never thanked you for this. So, thanks! :) ~ SavageBob 17:54, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Sentient species articles

Hey,

I've heard that you have a knowledge of how to tackle sentient species articles. I am currently working on Sith (species) and Massassi, and both are very far from being finished. However, if you don't mind, I would like your advice on what is required for sentient species articles like them. Thank you! Obi–wan Jacobi 18px (Talk) 00:15, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, O-B J! I'll take a look sometime in the next couple days and let you know what I think. Glad to help a fellow species enthusiast! :) ~ SavageBob 03:25, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Awesome, thank you! As I said, it's all very far from finished. For example, in Massassi, only the Biology section has really been looked at, and the Culture section has not been touched at all in Sith species. Yes, I am a huge fan of these species, and I hope to be doing a few more in the future!Obi–wan Jacobi 18px (Talk) 03:29, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
      • Thank you for the pre-review! Sorry I'm so late in responding, I have been rather busy. I should have made the time, so I apologise. Anyway, thank you again. Even though a lot of the things you mentioned were things that I was planning to change in the future, having you say that only re-enforces my opinion—which is great! The new things I will also keep in mind throughout the process of writing the article. Hopefully you will be satisfied with the final product! :) Thanks again!! Obi–wan Jacobi 18px (Talk) 09:35, February 11, 2011 (UTC)
        • My pleasure! Like I said, I'll try to take a look at Sith, too, but it may be a while. I'd suggest you work on Massassi first anyway, since it's probably more easily doable thanks to the lower number of sources/appearances. Good luck, and don't hesitate to drop by with any questions. ~ SavageBob 15:55, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

Posting Pictures on pages

thumb|right|Placing images If you ahve found pictures of characters and you want to upload and add those pictures to the correct article how would you do that. As I know how to upload pictures but not how to post them in an article

Jendernai-Eirron 13:54, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

  • It's pretty easy. You just type the picture's file name like this: [[:File:Savage Dulok.png|thumb|right|Placing images]]. The first bit of that tag is the file name, the second bit tells the Wiki software to make it match the viewer's image size preferences, the third bit tells the software whether to display the image on the left or right side (as here), and the last bit is the caption the viewer will see below the image. You can see the result to the right over there. Let me know if you need more help! ~ SavageBob 17:23, February 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • It won't let me upload the pictures and I don't really want to get blocked for doing it incorrectly so i'm rather stuck!

Jendernai-Eirron 20:28, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

      • Oh, so you're having problems with uploading, too? That's a bit more complicated. What's the error message you're getting? I'm pressed for time, but I'll get back to you. ~ SavageBob 20:34, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Language CA

Is this all the information there is on the unidentified Muza language? If so, you should put it up for CAN. NaruHina Talk 14px 01:51, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I think that's the kit n' caboodle. :) It needs a BTS, but maybe I will throw it up soonish. I think I've probably got a few others like it as well. ~ SavageBob 01:55, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Airten

Hi Bob, I am working on Sergeant Airten, who I will probably eventually nominate as a CAN during the summer, maybe even my spring break, basically whenever I feel like I'll actually have the time to regularly check my nominations. In any case, his game card statistics say he supports Luke on Bespin. Is that worth noting in his behind the scenes, or no? If so, that mean he was on Bespin during its occupation in 3 ABY, or without further evidence cannot just be assumed? Hanzo Hasashi 20:15, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

R3

Hey, Bob, thanks for giving the article a review. As for your final objection, I currently cannot play the game, due to my computer having issues with the game. Everytime I try and load up the game, it just automatically crashes with no error. Very odd, since I can play other soe MMOs, such as Galaxies. I might have to ask someone for any R3 mentioning. JangFett (Talk) 18:54, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

  • I can give it a try, maybe, but it'll be a few days. It used to not work with Macs, but I think it does now. At any rate, we're bound to have some users who have played it, non? ~ SavageBob 18:59, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

X-2

  • I believe the second objection on X-2 is yours. Could you please strike it so that we can give it comp status and archive it? Thanks. OLIOSTER (talk) 16:58, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Patrol droid

Hey. Any idea if this was written down somewhere or did you get the name from the show? I'm asking because The White Witch (book) calls them "Strong Arm Droids" and I'm trying to figure out which one to go with. Green Tentacle (Talk) 22:00, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, GT. I think my intention was to make that article about a particular type of droid, like astromech or protocol droid, rather than about a specific droid model. In Coby and the Starhunters, some guard/patrol droids appear, and they are called by that name. If the White Witch uses some specific name, it might be that that name applies to a specific model of droid. ~ SavageBob 22:28, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Got it

I did get your message, Bob, though you were unable to post it. We have certain editing restrictions in place at the moment because of a recent string of heavy vandalism, which is the reason. I can get you the Coruscant travel time in the coming days. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:16, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

  • OK, sorry if I spam posted you by accident then. :) ~ SavageBob 20:13, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
  • Ok, Skor II's distance from Coruscant using the game's fastest capital ship hyperdrive is 12 days. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:16, February 20, 2011 (UTC)

Empire Strikes Back photocomic

Hello SavageBob, do you have the Empire Strikes Back Photocomic? I was wondering if Dainsom, the Navy trooper outside the Executor's bridge who Darth Vader walks past towards the end of ESB appears. My bets are he isn't, since Retwin, a bit character from the same scene, doesn't. Hanzo Hasashi 05:45, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

  • If he's there, I sure can't find him! ~ SavageBob 07:26, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks, didn't think so :) Hanzo Hasashi 23:52, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

Objections

Hey there, Bob. Just wanted to let you know that I addressed your objections to Arena Theme a while back. :) MasterFred20px(Whatever) 13:52, February 22, 2011 (UTC)

Empire Strikes Back Photo Comic

Hello SavageBob, I am working on Civé Rashon as a CAN, does the Empire Strikes Back Photo Comic at all have Civé Rashon's fighter, Obsidian 1? Obsidian 1 is one of three TIEs pursuing the Millennium Falcon from Bespin to space. Also, should Empire Strikes Back count as an appearance for her, since her fighter appears, albeit not with her onscreen? Hanzo Hasashi 23:01, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, all three TIEs appear in the comic, but they're so far away you can't make out the pilots. I'll comment on the appearances thing on the CAN page. ~ SavageBob 18:39, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Max Rebo FFs

Check your email; they should be with you now. Sorry for the wait. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 22:04, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • No worries; I'm pretty busy now anyway and can't do a major project for a few weeks at least. Thanks for sending them along; I plan to FA Pa'lowick and Shawda Ubb at the very least. :) ~ SavageBob 00:49, March 1, 2011 (UTC)
