Abeloth and Force Psychosis

Please refrain from adding speculation to articles, even in the Behind the Scenes section. Make sure that everything is attributable. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 21:34, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • Once again, please make sure everything is attributable when you edit articles. This is not. Just because we know Abeloth lived there at a certain point of time does not necessarily mean it was definitely her homeworld. We don't know enough yet to be sure. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 19:41, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

Mara Ghost image

Please note that the image you just uploaded already exists. Please make sure you do not upload duplicate images in the future. Thank you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 21:59, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Also please note that Mara's spirit is not a confirmed Force ghost, and thus does not belong in the Force ghost article. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 22:00, August 28, 2010 (UTC)
    • To clarify, I mean the spirit as she appeared to Luke and Ben while they were beyond shadows; there is no indication as to whether this was actually a Force ghost, or some other kind of manifestation. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 22:05, August 28, 2010 (UTC)
      • Thanks for clarifying. I'm still confused with all of this "beyond shadows" and "mind walking" stuff, but all right.--ID-21 Dolphin 22:55, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

Callista Ming

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that since Callista Ming is a featured article, all information added to her article needs to have a valid source. If you could source the Celebration V info, that would be great. Otherwise, it will have to be removed. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 02:12, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • I actaully only added the quote, not the info. According to the page's history, User:Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo added it. Though I would be glad to find a source for the info if necessary.--ID-21 Dolphin 12:10, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry for the mistake. However, it would be great if you could find a source for it, if you have the time. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 04:29, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

X1

Are you planning to keep working on X1? If you don't have such plans, then I would like to take over his article. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 18:04, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, I'm only working on Battle of Endor now. If you could work on his article, that would be great, actually.--ID-21 Dolphin 20:08, September 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • I appreciate your concern, but I would prefer to keep the current main image since it is a decent quality close-up showing all of his face, not just one side of it. Believe me, you will not find better images of X1. I've spent hours trying to capture a nice screenshot, and File:X1 close-up.jpg was the best I could come up with. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 11:45, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
      • It may be poorly cropped, but it's still more realistic and…cinematic, if you will. It is a matter of preference, but I believe that the fiery background suits his Sith personality better than the stars on the other pic. I also prefer to have en face images for the infobox if possible, that's just my way of doing things. If people will object to this on the FAN page, I'll swap the images around, but for now, I'd like to keep the current pic. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 19:12, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
        • If you really want, I can find you a new version of the Mustafar image, with better cropping.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 19:14, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
          • Well, all I can tell is good luck. I tried to capture the screenshot myself, but the scenes cut too quickly between X1 and X2 during the final cutscene. You need to have Jedi reflexes to capture an image of X1 with him looking at the camera. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 19:23, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
            • Still, the picture of him with the stars has him looking sort of to the camera, and the background is less distracting. Maybe you can try using that one in the infobox and see how it looks.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 19:25, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
              • I tried it in the preview mode, and I didn't like it. It's too small in its original size, and too pixelated if enlarged. Listen, if you could find a better Mustafar image, that would be awesome. If not, I'll just ask other users on the FAN which picture they like better and choose the one accordingly. Is that OK with you? QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 19:41, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
                • I'll look for one.--ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 19:52, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
                  • Check out what I've managed to capture! What do you think about the new image? :) QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 17:11, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
                    • Problem is, it's too wide, you know? Do you think you would mind putting the Mustafar image I captured, or cropping the image to make it portrait-shaped? My image is essentially the same as yours but in a shape that better suits an infobox. Thanks.--ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 21:28, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • This is getting ridiculous. Your image was, quite frankly, too small and not sharp, and it looked ugly when you blew it to 250px. You see, the whole point is to see X1's face clearly, not to see every pixel in the picture. I think the new image is perfect for the infobox, and I'm not going to crop it. I apologize for being rude, but if you don't like it, that's your problem. I'm not going to debate this any further. Thank you. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 15:42, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • This can be debated again after it's nominated for an FA. You can leave it until then.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 20:28, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Resolution

Hey man,

There's no preferred resolution for the Wook --- as far as I know, it attempts to be user-friendly to everyone. My home computer is 1280 x 800, and the infobox goes halfway down "The Space Battle", much like Xd's. There's no need to change your own resolution, but just keep in mind that a lot of people have lower ones. The image alignment for the article should probably take that into account. Menkooroo 03:55, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Also, just wanted to bring to your attention that you supported the Darth Havok FA Nom but forgot to strike your objection. A nom can't pass if there are objections left unstruck; could you take care of that? Cheers. Menkooroo 03:57, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • Objection struck. For the resolution, since I haven't been able to change it without making my screen look hideous, I'm not sure what I can do, because if images are aligned to the right while the infobox is still there, they fall below the infobox, which gets them completely out of order. That's actually a problem on some of the short articles with very long infoboxes, such as planets.--ID-21 Dolphin 12:29, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

Vestara Khai

Hey, please refrain from editing articles with the inuse tag on them as a courtesy to the user who is working on the article, so that edit conflicts can be avoided. Thank you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 20:44, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Didn't even notice the inuse tag, sorry! Good idea for a FAN, though, I encourage you to continue your work.--ID-21 Dolphin 20:47, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • No problem; and I don't plan on taking it to the FAN quite yet—what with four more novels sure to include her as a major character yet to come out, it wouldn't really fit Rule 5, and would basically have to be re-reviewed by the Inq after each novel. But I at least plan on making it so that what we do have so far is as clean as possible. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. :) Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 20:58, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
      • All right, but just one thing: do you plan on changing the lead quote? I personally LOVE the current one.--ID-21 Dolphin 11:23, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
        • Yes, I do plan on keeping the current one; I think it works well, too. :) And since you mentioned/suggested it, I've actually been considering taking Vestara to FA as soon as FotJ is done; she's been interesting to write so far. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 13:58, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
          • Thanks, I really love that quote. The series ends in November '11, so you could pass it about two months after that.--ID-21 Dolphin 20:28, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

TCW canon

Please know that due to the unestablished Clone Wars timeline, we don't know when TCW episodes take place. I would appreciate it if you do not move Third Battle of Kamino back to the Second Battle of Kamino, because there is already one. Anything like that would be deemed speculation without confirmation by an official source. Thank you for your cooperation, JangFett (Talk) 17:10, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

  • All right. But just remember, the first episodes take place in 22 BBY, so Season 3 takes place no later than 21 BBY. Though I agree, as much as the series is great, it completely contradicts previously established canon.--ID-21 Dolphin 18:13, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
    • Besides the film, we do not know when the episodes take place. JangFett (Talk) 19:13, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • Any idea when LFL is going to release a timeline, by the way?--ID-21 Dolphin 19:20, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
        • Most likely after TCW is over. JangFett (Talk) 18:35, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
          • Do you know if they plan on making a Season 4 or no?--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 18:41, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
            • If I may butt in here, I'm pretty sure Filioni said in one of the commentaries they were going to try for five seasons. Regardless, it will take a while. Assuming they release one at all. I know. TCW is hell for all of us.--Bonslywizard20px(Send a transmission) 22:13, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

FAN images

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that if you want to make any major changes to an article undergoing the FAN or GAN process, it would be better to either leave a message on the article's talk page or in the comments section on the article's FAN/GAN page. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 00:44, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • On Freedon Nadd, right? Sorry.--ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 01:06, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
    • It's not a problem. Sometimes people who have already voted are uncomfortable with an article having major changes since they voted on a previous version. This is the same reason that any major changes to FA/GAs are usually reverted if no prior discussion has taken place. Cylka-talk- 02:26, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

FAN

Hey, when supporting an article on the FAN, please remember to add your vote to the vote count. Thanks. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:06, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sorry, which article?--ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 02:20, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
    • Every time you vote for an article, make sure you adjust the vote count to reflect your vote, as I have done for you here and here. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:24, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
      • Aah, I get it now. I'll adjust it on my other votes. By the way, check out the Battle of Endor's nom; any feedback would greatly help me!--ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 11:23, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Malak

Thanks for supporting the nom, as a response to what you said, JethLordMaster and I are actually working on Revan here.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 02:57, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Good. Next step should be Luke Skywalker! I'd be glad to help you on Luke, since it would be very hard. --ID-21 Dolphin 30px(Talk) 11:24, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Battle of Endor

Hey, sorry about that. But, in case this happens again, one day is a little short, at least for me, to be reminding people of "forgotten objections". Please remember that I have my own projects and nominations to worry about. Never fear, though. I usually reply to objections within 2-3 days. Sincerely, Bonslywizard20px(Send a transmission) 00:27, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

CSF

Please note that I have reverted your recent edit to CSF, because articles should not be linked in quote captions unless they do not appear anywhere else in the article. Since Raatu is mentioned in the article body, he does not get linked in the quote caption. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 00:27, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Hi. Can you please check your objection to Folded ear boosqueak on WP:CAN. --Eyrezer 00:46, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Cognus

Hey Dolphin,

Thanks for adding that quote to Darth Cognus. I hate leaving sections without quotes, and that one fits perfectly. I just have one question for you: what page of Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force was that found on? I looked at the entry on the Prophets of the Dark Side, and didn't see it there. Perhaps I missed it? At any rate, thanks for your contribution. If there is ever any way I can assist you, don't hesitate to ask.Tommy 9281 02:20, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Also, did you forget about me here? Thanks,Tommy 9281 02:18, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Signature

Hey there. Just a friendly notice that your signature actually is in slight violation of Wookieepedia's signature policy, which states that the maximum allowed height of an image is 20 pixels. This corresponds to about 19 pixels width for your current image. Any more, and I think line spacing starts to mess up. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is the truth) 09:52, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just changed from 30 to 20px, thanks. You can see it in the comment to the right.-->--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 11:22, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Dark side

Hey Dolphin,

Thanks for the message. I originally placed that quote there, and it has remained that way for several reasons. The main one of those being that what it replaced was seriously lacking in context, which the current quote is actually full of. While it is long, it does give a much more in-depth explanation about the dark side and its users, as opposed to the (no offense) rather generic "you don't know the power of the dark side" quote. I have to disagree with it being described as "cumbersome," because, when fully read, supports the subject matter which it describes. Again, thank you for your civility, it is quite refreshing to be approached diplomatically about situations around here. If there is anything I can do to ever help you, don't hesitate to ask.Tommy 9281 02:17, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Images

Hey Dolphin, just letting you know that I reverted your edit to Darth Caedus because images should not be placed in the middle of a paragraph. Furthermore, Caedus is a Featured article, so any changes to the article should be first brought up with the article's writer or discussed on the article's talk page, as Grand Moff Tranner has already explained to you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:27, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • All right. Though for FAs, changes should only be discusses if they are major or actually change something about the article, no? This was just a slight shift, so I doubt that it would need to be discussed. Still, thanks, and enjoy your day of Wookieeing.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 22:02, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Please see Wookieepedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Master Jonathan 20px (Jedi Council Chambers) 22:31, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed you switching around images in many articles lately. Just remember that any image that you remove from a page will be placed in the Unused files page if it's not being used in another article. It eventually makes its way to the Unused images page, where it is left for around 5-7 days before being deleted. I've noticed some of the images that you shift around in articles ending up on these pages. Whenever you're removing an image from a page, please check to see if it's present in another article, and if its not, try to find a place for it so it doesn't get deleted. Thanks. Xicer920px(Combadge) 23:10, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • I added multiple articles to articles and removed them from the gallery so that they wouldn't be deleted.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 23:17, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

Rahm Kota

There is no project. Rahm Kota is a current Featured Article that I worked on, and needs to be updated with new material, that's all. As the nominator and writer, it is my responsibility to ensure that the article is maintained to the highest standard. Also, since I generally prefer to work alone on articles, I do not require any help with the update, although the offer is appreciated. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 07:42, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Narrowing box

Hi, I'm wondering why this edit was required? I didn't notice what it was trying to solve. (: --Tm_T (Talk) 14:31, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • The 100% box creates a large blank space on hi-res and wide screens.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 14:52, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • Then I would recommend to find a way to set max-width instead so it won't shrink it in small screens (might need changing the template and/or wrapping the box with div). (: --Tm_T (Talk) 15:03, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
      • Can you please teach me how to do that?--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 15:04, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
        • example but I would rather leave such "hacks" out unless really necessary. Hope this helps (: --Tm_T (Talk) 15:11, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
          • If I may butt in, I fixed it by setting |width=auto in the scroll box—a handy trick to remember in the future. :) Master Jonathan 20px (Jedi Council Chambers) 15:31, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
            • That works too, although it causes it to narrow even when it's not that wide yet, which is something I dislike, thus the max-width so it can be wide enough to not be too crammed. --Tm_T (Talk) 15:34, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Warning

I've grown tired of your "I don't care what others think, I'm doing what I want" attitude. You do not dictate consensus. You do not have the right to make changes to Featured Articles without first discussing it. And you are not an administrator. So don't tell me what I can and cannot do. You don't speak for the community as a whole. I expect to see a change in your attitude. WP:CIVIL applies to everyone. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 21:32, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Forums

Yeah, no problem. The new format of the sw.com forums makes sourcing posts a real mission. Master Jonathan explained it to me, and I'll gladly pass it on to you, but first, hook me up with the date and the time of Leland's post. Menkooroo 04:41, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hmmmm... if there's no clear statement from Leland on their canonicity, I'd say it's probably OK to just write something like "As the LEGO games take humorous liberties with the storyline, this article assumes they are not canon." My opinion obviously isn't gospel, but, ya know, I wouldn't object to that. :^D Menkooroo 14:00, October 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • Will do. The canon status of the games is sort of self-evident in a way, so I'll just use something similar to your statement until someone else comments about it.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 20:14, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Battle of Endor nomination

Hey Dolphin,

You most certainly may renominate the article if it does not pass the FAN on this attempt. And yes, we will give you until this coming Friday to complete the source list. And, as I browsed the appearances section, I noticed several things that probably have at least made a miniscule mention of the battle were not included. Before you ask, I do not normally give hints/answers; this is something you will need to discover for yourself. I do applaud your dedication thus far, and I truly hope that everything will resolve itself in your favor by week's end. If I can assist you in any other manner, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks,Tommy 9281 22:36, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Already done, my friend. I will offer you a bit of information that may help set you on your true path: it may be prudent for you to get in contact with Toprawa and Ralltiir, who has a significant amount of Original Trilogy knowledge. Good luck.Tommy 9281 22:45, October 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • Added certain sources already. I'm working on it.----ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 01:54, October 13, 2010 (UTC)
      • Yes, you can add it to the non-canon appearances.Tommy 9281 23:36, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Falon Grey

Hey Dolphin,

Yes, I do have the authority to remove a nom by myself. However, I am not able to do it at this moment from my current workstation, so I would suggest contacting Green tentacle. Also, I appreciate and admire your diligence with regard to the Battle of Endor. I am therefore willing to extend your deadline indefinitely, so long as you agree to remain committed to it during the FAN process. I do want to stress though that I am not one who normally goes back on my word; truly, this is a rare occurrence. Please do not disappoint. I look forward to your completed project.Tommy 9281 22:03, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

  • No problem, young sir. Your ambition is to be commended, but I would advise that you take on only one project at a time for now. As you have seen, multiple things can become slightly overwhelming, and you don't want to end up backed into deadlines, etc. I would suggest keeping a sort of to-do list, something that many of us do around here. Just another way to outline your future goals and plans. If I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.Tommy 9281 22:25, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Battle of Endor

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging on those objections, but the reason that I hadn't checked them was because you didn't note that you'd addressed two of them—I have no reason to look to see if you've fixed an objection if you haven't noted that you think you have. I also usually wait until the nominator has addressed all of the objections—or until the nominator has addressed some and made a note saying they'll get to the rest later—in case they decide to try and address them while I'm reviewing the article; it's easier to avoid edit-conflicts that way. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:42, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Toprawa

  • Just so you're aware, I haven't been ignoring the post you left on my talk page. The fact of the matter is, you've undertaken one of the most expansive, involved projects you could have possibly chosen on this wiki. Usually we advise users new to the article nomination process to start with something smaller to get their feet wet, because they usually have no idea just how much work something like the Battle of Endor is going to require. I can't just say to you "oh, you need to check this, this, and this," and have that be all, because, as I'm sure you're finding, the Battle of Endor is going to be mentioned or featured in virtually every Star Wars sourcebook ever created ever. When I hear someone remark, "Oh, I might try to write Battle of Yavin," for example, I jokingly tell them that they better own Star Wars, because they're going to need to research more reference material than they can probably count. This is why several users have recommended to you already that the best course of action would probably be to take the nomination down for now and give yourself some time to work on it on the side, on your own time, where you're not being pressured by Inquisitors and the FAN system to have it done perfectly immediately. I wrote the Executor article, for example, on a separate user project page, and it literally took me more than a year to compile and research all source information I would need and then finally write the article. And I can guarantee you the Battle of Endor will have more sources than Executor. So, to answer your original question, I'm afraid I can't, because it's not that simple. But what I can tell you is that just from looking at the Battle of Endor article now, I feel like you're quite some time and work away from having this near the level of comprehensiveness required for FA status, and I feel like you're putting undue stress on yourself by working on this thing on the fly while it's on the FAN page. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:53, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Fact files

  • Hey, it looks like you found the fact files. Do you mind if I ask where you found them/who provided them for you? I'm not entirely sure, but I think that it might be necessary to indicate which entry it's mentioned in (like how Shira Brie was listed as few days ago). Did you actually get access to all of those fact files and comb through them for info on the battle? If so, just to confirm --- no new or exclusive info? Also, I think you may have to include the (SWA 1, John Smith) thing. Menkooroo 03:02, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
    • If you haven't actually looked through the fact files, you can't be sure which ones mention it or which ones might have new info... For example, Bultar Swan's fact file entry has unique information about her not mentioned in any other source (there are fourteen references to it in her article). It also mentions the fact that Darth Maul uses Teras Kasi, but you wouldn't know that from looking at the title. I know that it may seem a bit tedious and incredibly difficult, but it's very important to actually look through the fact files. I'm not saying you need to get access to every single one, but the ones that you've listed in the source list so far will need to be checked for new and unique info. I know it sucks, but, as Tope's said above, FA'ing the Battle of Endor is no small task. Menkooroo 03:29, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
    • Hey there,

What's really important to keep in mind is that until you look at a source, you can't know for sure whether or not you already have all or most of the relevant and pertinent info. The fact files may very well not have anything new on the Battle, but then again, the yery well might --- it's impossible to say until they've been looked at. Going by the Bultar Swan example again, JMAS provided me with her fact file, and it gave me a wealth of new info that the article would be anything but complete without.

As far as gathering more sources goes... a bunch of people were working on a Luke Skywalker project a while back, and I think they may have combined their efforts to comb through every source they could get their hands on. With something as large as the Battle of Endor, I think that some of the research may simply have to be guess-and-check. "Here's a sourcebook about warfare. I'd better look through it." I know it sounds really sucky and tedious, but that's the nature of major stuff from the films. Menkooroo 00:07, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Lumiya

Hey Dolphin,

Yes, I am aware of the considerable girth of Lumiya's intro. It currently looks rather disproportionate to the remainder of the article because I have yet to add the body, which is still incomplete. Trust me, when it is all said and done, the intro will sufficiently fit the article. I thank you for your concern, feel free to contact me if you need anything else.Tommy 9281 20:21, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

As the In Use tags states quite clearly: As a courtesy, please do not make edits to this article while this message is displayed. Yet you have made at least four edits in violation of this message. Please do not make any further edits to the article, regardless of your intent. That includes fixing any "mistakes" you believe you have found. You do not know my intentions for creating that link, which may have included actually moving and renaming the target article in question. I have a system and plan for the rewrite, and I will be sticking to it as it appears to have worked in the past. As for the images, if you wish to upload them, feel free and link to them on my talk page, but please do not place them in the article. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 20:39, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Satine

Hey Dolphin. I just wanted to let you know that I am impressed by your ambition, but also wanted to offer you some guidance. I see that you've started working on Satine Kryze, an article that will be rather large and difficult to write comprehensively, given her appearances as of now and her future appearances. I've noticed that you've attempted to FA a number of articles recently, all of which have been removed. Considering that you're a relatively new and inexperienced editor, I wanted to offer you some advice—starting with smaller articles, or even on the GAN page, is a great way to build experience so that you can tackle the larger tasks and prevent your upcoming nominations from being removed. If you want any help with any article, let me know, but again, I would recommend that you hold of on Satine and start with a smaller character or event that you're really interested in. That'll show the inq that you're interested in learning as opposed to just doing, and encourage them to give your nominations more of a chance. I had planned on improving Satine in the coming weeks, once her future appearances were either confirmed or denied for the continuing season, and am still interested in working on her. Again, let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with your future endeavors. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 05:08, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • The problem with that is that the Inq has very little tolerance for nominations that are just "nice projects." The possibility of having it removed shouldn't be an acceptable outcome for any nominator—it's a waste of both your time and the time of the reviewers. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 18:10, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
    • Hey Dolphin, I would be more than happy to work on Satine—I'll let you know when the article's about complete and maybe you could help me address some objections to fine tune her. That way you could put the FA promotion template on your page as well. And, as always, let me know if you want any help or advise on another article you choose to try and promote. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 09:07, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Quotes

hey Dolphin, please be very careful when adding/changing quotes on articles; remember that quotes should be relevant to the section where you place them. The quote you put under the "Foundation of the Tribe" section in Lost Tribe of Sith had absolutely nothing to do with the Foundation of the Tribe, and was thus inappropriate. Also make sure the quotes are accurate. In your recent edit to Fel Empire, the quote you added as the lead quote was inaccurate. While your endeavors to add quotes to articles are appreciated, please take care that the quotes you add are relevant and accurate. Thank you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:39, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks a lot, I was actually looking for good quotes for the Lost Tribe article but couldn't find any good ones, so that's why I used the less accurate one instead. That helped me.--ID-21 Dolphin DolphinJedi(Talk) 03:01, November 19, 2010 (UTC)
    • Sorry for the delayed reply, I've been very busy with school lately. Anyway, if you can't find any applicable quotes, I'd suggest not adding a quote at all. It's better to have a section go quote-less than to force in a completely unrelated quote, as you did in this instance. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 04:18, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Update tag

The update tag will be removed when the article is finished. It is currently under review by several Inqs to ensure that it maintains its status as a quality featured article. As for adding quotes and the like - not all sections need to have quotes. Sometimes, there is no appropriate quote so the section is left blank. Inappropriate quotes are worse than no quotes. Inappropriate and badly placed quotes will be removed. In regards to images - the images in the article have been chosen for a reason, to compliment the text. Unless the images you propose are higher quality versions of the existing images, these too will be removed. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 11:12, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

  • I suggest you stop harassing Cavalier One about the Kota article. All you're waiting for is a chance to get into the article and change around all the quotes and images to your liking. I'm going to repeat verbatim what he's already told you: Sometimes, there is no appropriate quote so the section is left blank. Inappropriate quotes are worse than no quotes. Inappropriate and badly placed quotes will be removed. In regards to images - the images in the article have been chosen for a reason, to compliment the text. Unless the images you propose are higher quality versions of the existing images, these too will be removed. When he and the Inqs he's requested to look at the updates are finished with the article, the inuse tag will be removed. Until that time, give it a break and go find something else to do. Mara Jade

Hey Dolphin, just wanted to ask one more time that you ask another user or on an article's talk page before you make major changes to an FA or a GA. I personally had no problem with the quote change you made to Mara's legacy section, but other users might; and furthermore, the quote you added was not quoted correctly. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 01:37, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • There shouldn't be a problem with the Calrissian/Skywalker section quotes; they fit fine and there were none there before. And honestly, the main reason I reverted the legacy quote was because it was quoted and sourced incorrectly. But it would still be better to ask on the talk page first every time for adding/changing quotes or images on status articles, even if you don't always get a response. That way, if someone complains about you making the change after the fact, you can point to the talk page and say: "Well, I did ask." :P Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:14, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Re: More Vortex Stuff

Got it, good catch. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 15:39, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

  • Well, you haven't exactly given Havac much of a chance to answer you. Your request was posted all of 2 hours ago. Give him some time to actually respond to your request (I usually allow people about a week, because sometimes RL intervenes with one's ability to edit actively). However, the case of linkage is usually considered pretty minor, so you shouldn't get in trouble as long as your editing of the links is completely accurate. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 16:00, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sure, I can double-check them for you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 16:50, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
      • Several mistakes are present. Firstly, StealthX wing is an incorrect link, orbit needs to be linked on its first mention in the article, not on a later mention where you linked it, carbonite was already linked above in the article, so you didn't need to link it again, holorecording is a redirect (it redirects to holorecorder), and it needs to be put on the first mention of a recording, not on a later mention as you now have it. Also, a couple of the other links have been made rather messily: recording (should be recording) and cooperating (should be cooperating) Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 17:25, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
  • The reason I set it up as "Skirmish" instead of "Duel" originally is that the event wasn't focused solely on the duel; Cilghal helped out, but never actually fought Hamner, and a lot of the combat and tactics used by Hamner and Sebatyne weren't strictly duel-style (there wasn't a whole lot of lightsaber dueling at all), specifically since their intent wasn't to hurt each other as much as it was to prevent/ensure the launch, respectively. I reverted your edit to Jaina Solo again, because the article just recently received a major addition with regard to the latest canon releases, by the individual who wrote it and saw it through the FAN process no less. You may therefore want to talk with Atarumaster88 about any potential changes/additions, as he is the man of whom I speak.Tommy 9281 17:48, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Funeral of Cha Niathal

Hey Dolphin, I reverted your edit to Funeral of Cha Niathal because the article is just an event, and the event infobox doesn't support the prev= conc= and next= parameters. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:51, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • Battles, missions, duels, and wars I believe. Basically, if it's there when you preload the infobox, then it's supposed to be there. If it's not there when you preload, then it's not supposed to be. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 15:34, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Images in Vestara's article

The image from Ascension is more up to date and therefore more appropriate for the infobox. The others are just fine as they are. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 01:34, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

  • I mean that it is the most recent based on in-universe chronology, and is therefore more appropriate. Besides, this image focuses no more on her lightsaber than the other one does on her shikkar. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 01:41, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
    • The majority of counter-examples are due to the following: live action images are always preferred over art, so if a live-action image exists, it will be chosen over any non-live-action later in-universe images; or else the more recent in-universe image is just of very, very poor quality. This image is of quality just as good as the other image in my opinion, particularly since the Omen one shows her two or three years younger and with vor'shandi markings—which, by they way, she wore only on very special occasions, and only once as far as we know—this one shows her older and as she naturally looks. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 01:49, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
      • We have no policy against that; and such instances definitely become more common in larger articles for which there are only a few images relating to the article's subject—basically, articles like Vestara's. We could change that one to the image of just Ben; the only reason I didn't do that before is that the next image in the article is also one of just Ben. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 01:58, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
        • Indeed; particularly with Conviction just a couple months away, I'm not overly concerned about that. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:04, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Sarasu Taalon

Hey Dolphin, I do love me some FotJ, but I'm going to have to decline for now. Between reviewing, admining, NSW project responsibilties, and the other article writing projects to which I've already committed, I don't have the time to nom Taalon right now. Whether or not I'll do so in the future, and if so, whether sooner or later, I can't say. As for joint nomming: the only one I've gone through with was on an extremely extensive article with an exceptionally seasoned writer. I've found that joint nominations don't usually work well unless the article requires such a venture due to its scope—if it's large enough, it's good to have a second set of eyes; otherwise, you'll just get in each other's way—and Taalon isn't so large an article as to require that. No, Saba is no longer interim Grand Master. After the coup his sentence is revoked, and Luke officially accepts the title back later on in the book. Re: Cato Neimoidia

To be honest, no source has referred to anything as the "first" or "second" battle; mostly it was conjecture on our part regarding the titles. There's an ongoing discussion about dropping "first"/"second"/"third" nominal markers from conjectural titles altogether, and while nothing has passed yet, community consensus so far seems to be avoid using them in the absence of official sources. I think it would be best if we avoid attributing any "first" or "second" markers for the Cato Neimoidia battles in particular, especially since there's always the potential for more events that will make nominal markers inaccurate. Hope that's clear, and thanks for asking. :) CC7567 (talk) 05:07, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

  • "Battle of Cato Neimoidia (c. 20 BBY)" was a suggestion, but since the 20 BBY date is still only approximate and is probably going to get revised when the Clone Wars timeline does after the TV series is done, it doesn't seem appropriate to leave the article at a title that's going to require moving later. "Separatist attack" is the most specific detail for disambiguation because it refers to the type of battle itself, e.g. Battle of Kamino (Tipoca City assault). CC7567 (talk) 19:46, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Ahsoka

Yes, that's fine. I actually prefer the black background over the current one. As for the quote, might I suggest:

"If it isn't Skywalker's filthy, obnoxious little pet."
―Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress, describing Ahsoka Tano — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[src]

:P JangFett (Talk) 21:05, March 5, 2013 (UTC)

  • I would put that quote in her P&T since it describes her and Anakin, but mainly the latter. As for the relationships, I wouldn't worry about it. You could briefly add something in her current P&T without sections. I am currently writing Ahsoka's article off site since 2009 and I still haven't completed her P&T, including relationships. I wanted to take my older intro and paste it in her article, seen here, and add in the remaining season info. As for the image, it's up to you, and I think JMAS or someone had changed it from the black background to the other without a vote. JangFett (Talk) 21:34, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
    • Those sections are old and outdated. I would rather wait until I am done before I dump my article into the existing article. As for the leading quote, sure that's fine, but I would fine one that describes her. I am still leaning toward using the Ventress quote as her final lead quote. :P JangFett (Talk) 21:44, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
      • No, I doubt anyone would care, so we could just agree upon it since we're the two that are currently debating it. As for the Ventress quote, it still works since it's from a character describing Ahsoka, but I understand the issues surrounding it. JangFett (Talk) 22:08, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
        • The first one is good. I'll also look at the TCW novel. JangFett (Talk) 23:40, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
          • I would put that in one of her P&T sections or P&A. JangFett (Talk) 01:09, March 6, 2013 (UTC)
            • I would choose the Rex one, to be honest. JangFett (Talk) 03:20, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

                  • No, I don't mind the Wookiee quote. It's just not head quote quality. :P As for my workbench, I would like to wait until I'm completed. JangFett (Talk) 04:19, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
                      • Yeah, I am, but I am busy atm. I plan to dump some things into my workbench, including an improved and huge source list. JangFett (Talk) 04:23, March 7, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Lumiya quote

Hi Dolphin,

Thank you for your suggestion, but the current quote is quite appropriate as the lead. The replacement you suggest is more appropriate where it is, hence its current placement thus. Also, the quote that you chose to replace that which was the lead for dark side of the Force is inadequate; what was there was far superior due to its detailed description of the subject matter, and should be returned to its original position. Thanks,—Tommy 9281 Saturday, March 9, 2013, 21:54 UTC

Boz Pity non canon

Hey, could you please provide a source that states Ventress's fate in obsession is non canon? Thanks, Supreme Emperor (talk) 03:45, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

A bientôt j'espère Trazeris (talk) 14:41, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Revan

Hey, thanks for catching that spelling mistake in Revan. It's not taboo to edit FANs at all, it's just sweeping changes and major rewrites without consulting the author are discouraged. Minor edits like that are more than welcome, as it streamlines the FAN process. Just wanted to let you know. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 14:19, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

  • Thanks a lot. I won't hesitate to fix anything else I find.--ID-21 Dolphin DolphinJedi(Talk) 19:16, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

Cato Neimoidia

Hey, Dolphin, I would just like to remind you of your objection on the Battle of Cato Neimoidia FAN, which has been addressed for over two weeks now. If you could take a look at it the next time you're on, that'd be great. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 03:00, August 24, 2013 (UTC)
