"The Empire continued to implement grand schemes, including the Tarkin superweapon and the Phantom TIE project. The Tarkin, a scaled-down version of the Death Star similar in principle to the one created inside Maw Installation, was capable of shattering worlds. Grand Admiral Batch had been tasked by the Emperor with developing a working cloaking device, and he used the Tarkin to demolish the burned-out planet Aeten II--blasting loose millions of rare stygium crystals. Boasting stygium invisibility screens, Batch's "Phantom TIEs" would have proved invincible in dogfights had Rebel saboteurs not scuttled the project. Years later, one of Grand Admiral Batch's discarded cloaking designs (which suffered from the flaw of not letting its users see out) would be used during Grand Admiral Thrawn's military campaign." Cade Skywalker

Hello Grunny. Congrats on your new adminship; now to business. I am going to try to get Cade cleaned up, cited, and expanded (that being if there is more information out there on him) for an eventual GAN, however considering I have never actually gotten a good article or FA nommed (seems hard to believe doesn't it?), I might need some assistance. I notice that you've gotten several Legacy era articles to GA and FA status. Any help in getting Cade to either level that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:33, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Regarding the Ragnos page

Just curious, but was there any reason for your reversion to the version where it lists the first part as "era", rather than "age"? I believe the term "age" is more appropriate, especially since that section is in a user's words, and the term "era" seems to denote the entire Out Of Character Era of the "Old Republic", which spans more than 25,000 years, rather than the "Golden Age of the Sith" that lasted much shorter time.

I'd also like to state that I don't believe the changing of a word (that was a user's choice of diction in the first place) for clarification isn't "meaningless" junk added to the page.Unsigned comment by 68.93.109.223 (talk • contribs)

Semi-Protect Republic Heroes

Hey Grunny, can you semi-protect Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes? It's getting a lot of anon IP edits, and most of them are vandal edits, bad spelling and wrong linking to different articles. I have been reverting edits, but the anon IPs just re-add the work. JangFett Talk 17:15, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

WP:TCW again

Hey Grunny. As project head for WP:TCW, I'm trying to get a better idea of who's still interested in participating in our project. If you're still interested in participating, please leave a note on my talk page or contact me in IRC. If you do not respond within a week, I will assume that you are no longer interested in participating. That doesn't mean that your name will be removed from the "Participants" list, but it means that any of your current projects will be removed from the project page so that others have a chance to work on them. Likewise, if you currently have any projects under your belt, I highly encourage you to review them, and if you don't plan on working on them within the next two or three weeks, I recommend reconsidering them. Wookiee Leadership

The Wookiee Leader Award

The Wookiee Leader Award

I, Graestan the Mighty, Merciless, Magnanimous, and Wise, being of certifiably unsound mind and hopelessly unfit body, hereby bestow upon you, Grunny the Industrious, with the Wookiee Leader Award for your smooth transition into leadership of WookieeProject Legacy Era, your expansion of it into the most successful current WookieeProject, and your spearheading the efforts with numerous good and featured article nominations. You have become a model user in every respect, most notably in your infectious positive attitude. A talented and prolific AgriCorps member and Inquisitor, you have also fit quite nicely the role of administrator for the site. It's all I can do not to heap awards for five or six different things here; instead I believe this recognition of your status as one of the leaders of the site should do nicely. Carry on, tarry not, tally ho, sally forth, excelsior, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et al. Graestan(Talk) 00:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Stang

Looks like the stang article was deleted and merged with the List of phrases and slang to make room for some minor character. Most of the users awake at the moment see that as a bad move, especially since it eliminated a long list of appearances. Not to mention most people looking for "stang" will not even know about the minor character. I'm tempted to just set things back the way they were, but first I thought I'd drop this message and ask how committed you are to the change. Seems there's a lot of strong support for going back to the way it was. Enochf 20:49, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

If it weren't for the leaders like you, this site wouldn't be nearly as productive, and I must say that I am truly honored to work at your side. Also, if it weren't for your patience and guidance with my early noms on the GAN page, and if you hadn't recruited me for WP:LE, I know I wouldn't be the user that I am today. Dear, Grunny

Sorry about the inconvenience but I'm new to the whole program here. I saw http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookieepedia:Template_messages/User_namespace/#Language on the 4.2.2 Language section and I see that it says you can add a new language on the meta-templates by using one of the templates. I tried to change this into Thai because I am a native speaker of it and apparently caused this disruption. I'll just forget about this idea. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Vestara Khai

Hello Grunny. I've been working at getting the Vestara Khai article to Good Article status, but someone pointed out that I should get your permission, since it's your project on Wookieeproject: Legacy (something I didn't see until after all my edits were done and the article was nominated.) The article apparently needs work, but I thought I should clear it with you, and ask for any advice or notes that you can give (it's actually my first attempt to make an article "Good"; I'm trying to become a better contributor). Thank you! Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith 17:32, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm actually part of the KOTOR and TOTJ Wookieeprojects, and so can probably find some good articles there to tackle. At first I didn't understand the whole more than/less than 1,000 pages, but now I get it, and I get why this will probably be Featured instead of just Good. Fortunately, after Abyss, it ought to be relatively stable for a few months :) So again, thank you for the advice, and I may ask you for more later if I need help upgrading some TOTJ articles. Cheers! Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith 11:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Need Help

Hey, Grunny, I need an admin's help. As you can probably see, Monaco skin now has two new buttons at the left: New Page and Add Image. While the second one is simply redundant considering the Upload File link, the first one can be potentially dangerous because it encourages vandalism, while experienced users have no problem with creating artivles anyway. This post on the wikia forums explains ho to turn them off. It requires some manipulations with the skin, so I am under impression only an admin can do this. Please consider it. Thanks you. Hey, Grunny. I wanna' let you know about an article with quite a few flaws. I mean, I can't stand it. It's ridiculous. I honestly don't care what wizards of the coast says about the ship, because the info ain't right.

My email is jamescameronjackson@yahoo.com Please speak to me via email. I have all of the required information on the ship to correct almost every mistake, so if you could please E-mail me, that would be great. I think it's a matter that should be discussed. Trade route template cleanup

I understand the need for the templates to be cleaned up, however at least in regards to your edit on The Crystal Passage, would it not be okay to list the planets in the order they appear on a route with dashes rather than a bulleted list. The intent is to note the order and not simply list them. In addition, look at Triellus Trade Route and tell me if you think a list would be better for those planets, in that I argue it's not needed when there is a group of planets that large. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:57, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

  • I can go back and fix them considering you added additional citing and wouldn't want to revert that, however for those particular sections where I would like to show the order in which they appear on a route, does every planet still need to be cited, or can the whole column? Then again, if there is another planet thrown in there in the future, I guess that would need its own citation.. Crud, answered my own question. Okay, with the template code, would it just be easier to update the template instead of having to fix each new article I create? -- Riffsyphon1024 08:05, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

Hello Admin,

I'm new to Wookieepedia and I had written a fanfiction novel about Darth Ravus a Sith Lord who I created and wanted to make a page about him. I spose I should have acted to see if that was alright, but I looked in the FAQ and such and saw nothing that would make me feel like it wasnt Ok to put up a small page. Quo abhinc veniamus?

I've now jettisoned my attitude and taken some good advice. So where do we go from here? (Or, translated directly from the Latin, 'to which [place] from this place ought we [to] go?') Is there a grace period I need to observe or timetable I need to stick to in order to clear the air? Something must have gone terribly wrong for the article nomination to fail after only a single day, even when I tried to recant my jackassery and fix things. I'm probably the only person with an investment in the article who is also currently active in improving it, so it is unlikely anyone else will nominate it in my stead with their unblemished record. I'm assuming that if I were to just put it back up on the Good article nominations board right now, I would irritate those who voted to remove it before, which would prompt them to vote for its removal again, and it would be removed, making future 'nay' votes even more likely. I don't want a Krupx Munitions advanced spread cluster**** depriving an article about an important part of the saga the status it deserves. My mistakes should only affect me, not Star Wars. Azra Namor 20:24, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

Mechno-command Center

Hello

First of all I want to say that I'm new at this.

It's about the article about the "mechno-commande center". I'm surprised that it has not yet an article here so I made it my first attempt to write it. Ok for deleting it, it wasn't nearly finished. But as fanon? It does appear in two (as I can see) Clone Wars episodes. Or is it fannon just because of the name? Should I just use "separatist command station" or something like that? Do I have to have pictures of it, to "prove" that it is there? Can't I just write the article and someone else insert the images?

There is an article about the republic Forward Command Center, so I think the separatist counterpart deserves its own.

So what I want to know is; how should I do for it not to get deleted? I'm not trying to write fanon or make an crappy article.

Thanks in advance --Tellanroaeg 17:26, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Hey Grunny. I appreciate you sticking that in the pre-load list. Copying and pasting was becoming quite tiresome. However when I looked for it in the dropdown it wasn't there yet. Is this a cache issue, or will it take time for the system to recognize the change and implement it? -- Riffsyphon1024 06:23, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Removing talk page content

Hello there,

While the template does indeed state that, I have not actually found any polices which state that. Are there actually any? If so, please point them to me. If there aren't, then please do not revert my edits again. ~ Michael von Preußen (voicemail)

I would argue that if no actual policy exists, there should be nothing preventing me from doing so. Now, I know Wookieepeedia prides itself on being individual from all other wikis, but I've similarly not encountered any such policies on other wikis. ~ Michael von Preußen (voicemail)
You have not shown me where a rule exists. All WP policies are supposed to be listed here. You have shown me a welcome template that just happens to tell me not to remove messages. In fact, it doesn't even say it's a policy. If there is a policy, I have no problem cooperating. But pointing to a sentence on a welcome template that doesn't even claim to be a policy, and not backing it up with any actual policies as listed on Category:Policies on Wookieepedia, does not prove to me that a policy exists. Now, I've pretty much given up editing here, due to hostile administrators. As such, I really don't care whether my talk page content is there or not. I simply don't like seeing administrators pushing their weight around, claiming to be enforcing policies that don't exist. If you have proof that that is a wiki policy, decided in a manner prescribed by WP (which from the looks of things seems to be general user consensus), then I will follow it gladly - as I say, it's not the policy I have a problem with, it's being told to conform to policies which don't seem to exist. If you can't show me something to this extent in a page in Category:Policies on Wookieepedia, then at least show me a vote or something. Never have I encountered such bullish hostility from administrators elsewhere, hence my reluctance to contribute to this wiki. If there is a policy, prove it. If there isn't, quit trying to enforce policies that don't exist. Thank you. ~ Michael von Preußen (voicemail)
Fair enough; you've shown me proof. Now, if you'd have done something that simple the first time, rather than just arbitrarily pointing me to the welcome template, this entire thing could have been averted. Regardless, I thank you for your time. ~ Michael von Preußen (voicemail)

Allan Moss Star Wars model maker

I have just found this site and see that my brother Allan Moss has been deleted. I will verify that Allan did work on at least 2 of the first Star Wars films. He also worked on Dark Crystal, Judge Dredd plus countless other films. Sadly he died a few years back just after completeing The New Avengers film, he created Nelsons column in stryo-foam seen in the film.

Bill Moss

The article on Allan Moss was deleted due to no verifying source being provided within a week of some one marking it with the {{Verify}} template. If you can provide and link to sources that can verify the information, then we'd love to have the article recreated. Cheers. Grunny (Talk) 13:20, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

As Allan's only living sibling I feel that my statement is enough. His partner and their 3 children have estranged themselves from the family so you would get no response from them.

If you look at the credits you see his name

Bill Moss

I have restored the article since it can be verified here, so his article is now back. Cheers, Grunny (Talk) 01:53, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

TC-closed template

One minor thing you might want to tweak on this template. It currently reads Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here.... It might be prudent to augment this with something like:

"If the result of the debate was to keep the page, further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. If the article was deleted, please start a new topic in the Senate Hall to discuss the issue."

This way you won't have inexperienced users created a talk page for an article that no longer exists. Just a thought. - JMAS 20px Hey, it's me! 16:39, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Good idea, and done :). The wording I used was just copied directly from what we've been using for years, if you look through the archives. So far few, if any inexperienced users have created talk pages for TC'd articles despite the wording, but it's best not to give them ideas :P. Grunny (Talk) 16:46, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

right|120px Hello everyone, this is CC7567 from WookieeProject The Clone Wars. It is currently six months after the project was started, and the number of individual projects is steadily growing. While I am happy that so many of you are writing for the WookieeProject, the majority of articles there have been sitting there for months. Several users even have ten projects or more at the moment, and I am frankly just disappointed at the level of inactivity that is befalling our articles. I understand that many of you have other obligations, and while I respect that, the responsibility falls to you to judge whether or not you're still capable of writing all of these articles, whether in time or in energy. For this reason, I once again urge you to reconsider your current projects. The criteria should be that you have the unrelenting intent to finish all of your projects within the next month. I myself have had to reconsider my own projects on account of real-life time constraints. I do not want to have to set a limit to the number of projects per user, but if it comes down to that, I will, because I do not want to see the project deteriorate and hope that you do not want to either. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 19:21, October 31, 2009 (UTC)

Anj Dahl

I'll be working on her article on this sub-page. I aim to get it to the GA's at least, we'll see. Can you upload some images of her for me? I'll re-read the comics she's in and give you a list. I've got a better infobox image for her in mind, from issue #41.--Jedi Kasra (comlink) 19:25, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

Alright, thanks. Here it goes.--Jedi Kasra (comlink) 00:18, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

From #21:

  • The image of Dahl in her fighter, during the battle of Mon Calamari.

From #41:

  • For the Infobox
  • On page 9, there's a good image of Dahl, where she responds to Hondo Karr's lecture about friends and squadmates. Page 12 has got a good one as well, in the bottom panel, except it's got a dialogue bubble. On page 13, where Karr states "Hasn't come off yet", there's a picture of Dahl that would be better for the infobox. I personally want to go with either the "Hasn't come off yet" shot, or the the one on page 12, bottom panel, if you can remove the bubble. Please advise.
  • On page 16, the image of Dahl running with the blaster rifle would be good.
  • On page 21, the image of Karr putting his hand on Dahl's shoulder and telling her he's going back to being a Mandie.
  • Thanks for the images. I'll have to complete the article first, then place the images. Don't be surprised if I ask you about theses events, the relevance to her article, etc. I'm not an expert on the comics, but I'm willing to give the article a go, get it GA'd or FA'd.--Jedi Kasra (comlink) 19:07, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

Help

I have never done anything like this before. Most of the time I am cooped up in my room making stop motion animations about Star Wars (yes some of them are comedies, but who doesn't make fun of stuff they like?). So this is my question. How am I supposed to write articles (if I can that is)? Am I supposed to get assigned? I mean all the stuff that I have ever wondered about I have found here, what am I to do comrade?

why did you delete the page 'List of Rodians' but I created it because it was in Wanted pages? Why be on there if it is not needed? Hunter 4-LOM 15:36, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind me chipping in Grunny. Just because a page is on Wanted Pages doesn't mean you should make a low quality article that doesn't fit in at all, leave it to people with more skill to create the articles.Natonstan 15:47, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
While it's true that just because a page on the Wanted Pages list, it doesn't mean it should necessarily be created, there is no reason to leave it to more "skilled" people. The nature of wikis means everyone can contribute and if there's something that needs cleaning up plenty of people can, so Hunter 4-LOM don't be discouraged from creating or editing articles. It's just in this case the article had already been voted to be deleted here. Hunter 4-LOM, just try to look at some current articles to get an idea of style and if you have any questions ask :-). Cheers, Grunny (Talk) 15:55, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
To be honest Grunny from my personal experience, I find this wiki the hardest to contribute to, especially in my earlier days whenever I made an article rather than the Admins changing it and showing me where I went wrong the page was simply deleted and then I found it remade months later by somebody else.Natonstan 16:16, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Hosk Trey'lis

Hi Grunny,

Just to let you know I spotted that we have an article called 5 Evil Deeds! (Expanded Universe) from Insider 113 that seems, for some reason of infinite complexity, to include the death of Hosk Trey'lis as one of the five most evil moments of the Expanded Universe. Whether or not I believe that Captain Pollux getting all cut up at the beginning of Star by Star deserves the top spot is a moot point; the reality of the situation is that you may want to do a miniscule update for Hosk Trey'lis, which I have helpfully linked for you. Hey

I know I haven't edited here much, but I know a trolling idiot when I see one. This dude(I know it's a redlink, just check the shoutbox), whose editcount is ZERO, is constantly complaining about people talking on the shoutbox. He won't shut up, and is constantly cursing and harassing several users. One of the users who is in the middle of this is very helpful to the community, and whenever she talks on the shoutbox with her friends, Pillsbury starts complaining and ordering her to shut up(even though she hasn't said that much), then he starts swearing and tells her to "actually help", even though he hasn't edited here at ALL, and she is pretty helpful. I have been on wikia for a while, and I am an admin on a few wikis, so I know he doesn't deserve a warning, and should be blocked/banned on the spot.--Shade 21:06, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

Ok, you need to block him. If you have the shoutbox, set the amount to around 20. He is openly calling somebody a bad editor, and is trying to drive the user away from wikia. The first comment says what he does anyways, and, according to wikia rules, if one is harassing somebody purposely and is trying to make them leave, orders people and acts like an admin when he/she lacks any edits, and always complains about people talking, the mentioned one should be banned.--Shade 20:05, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
