NEGTC
Thanks, and congrats. Basically, my idea, which may not be popular, was that we don't actually focus on milestones at all with NEGTC, but instead focus on getting solely the NEGTC info onto the articles. And I say this because the NEGTC covers a broad, broad range of characters, and all of them would require heaps and heaps of extra research. So, in that regard, this WookieeProject doesn't/can't quite operate in the same way that every other one can. Just a suggestion though. ;) Thefourdotelipsis 23:40, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey Chack. Battle of Coruscant is supposed to be on the main page on 12 August but it's up for probation now. Copy-edit request
Hey, Chack. Long time, no talk. :) I hope all is going well with you, and that your summer is going good. Today was my day off over here, and I managed to finish my work on Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. If you're able to give 'er a copy-edit when you can, I'd really appreciate it. I'm hoping to get the major stuff taken care of before I nominate it for FA, since I don't really have time for the drama of the FAN page, atm :P If you're able to, great. If not, no worries, and Graestan or myself will deal with any objections on the FAN page. Take care, bud. Greyman(Talk) 11:31, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sweet, thanks, Chack. If you have any questions/comments that you're unable to resolve via your copy-edit, just leave me a talk page msg, or email me via the link on my user page, and I'll do my best to get to them. I have the rest of the day off, so ya :) Greyman(Talk) 11:41, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ya, feel free to. I know all about the policy, but I didn't write the article in "order", per se...I kinda started in the middle, then the end, then finished the article by writing the beginning. So, there is probably some redundant linking...feel free to remove anything like that :) Greyman(Talk) 12:26, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Um...are you talking about the graph I made? On my screen, in the three different browsers I check, it shows that I put the Omnibus Vol. 1 to collect all of the issues for FotSE, GAotS, UQatBWoO, and tSoNS. If you're not talking about the graph, and it is a sentence or whatever that is wrong, feel free to correct it. If it is the graph, please take a screen shot and email it to me. Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 12:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
RE: Question
Sure. Ataru is doing a kind of survey or something with Spreadsheet about FAs (Here: User talk:Cull Tremayne/Essay, scroll down), and for one part of it he made a page called 'calculator' to figure out the size of the article in bytes. This is done by posting the revision it was FA'd under in the page, then checking the history. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Daala Objections
Hi. I am a new Wookiepedian but have been on Wookiepedia for a while. I finally decided to become active and stumbled upon Project Ambition. I chose to be an editor because I thought it would be a good way to start out. On the Daala forum, I found your message asking for help dealing with the FA objections. I would be glad to help. Leave me a message on my talk page giving me an idea of what to do. Thank you.--Darthsci(Comlink) 15:50, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- For the objections, right now I plan on working on the Battle of Mon Calamari and her reasons for attacking. I plan on showing you the changes I make. Darthsci(Comlink) 21:23, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I got some done, specifically her reasons for attacking Mon Calamari. I didn't know for sure how much to describe it and it is basically a rough draft. Link to it at User:Darthsci/workbench. Feel free to comment on the actual page, I don't mind. Darthsci(Comlink) 22:20, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Daala: Battle of Mon Calamari
Can you explain what exactly you mean by splitting up that section in two paragraphs? Do you mean split it after the attack on Dantooine or somwhere else. You can answer me on my talk page but I set up a talk page for my workbecnh also where I would prefer the answer to be posted. Darthsci(Comlink) 21:17, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Daala Quote
I can understand how you misread my statement. I was trying to say that I didn't have any sources that took place in that time era, but from what I could tell, what that quote refers to happened in that section. I don't know the quoting policy extensively and I know there are much better quotes but in lack of one so far, I contributed what I could. As angry as this maybe sounds I am not at all. I am just trying to clarify. Would it be easier for us to both contribute on the workbench for now? --Darthsci(Comlink) 02:59, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Gara
Thanks for the read. I was worried people would be turned off by the length, but Gara is a complex character who gets lots of backstory and lots of internal dialogue and whatnot, so I think its warranted. I really appreciate your thorough read. -- Colinmcev 02:55, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

User boxes
As you wish, this is my defense: For Jodo, Adar: I admit I simply performed revision tasks, double-checked some data and co-worked privately with the main editors. Although the pages were not too modified in the English version, I created a Spanish version for each of them in the Spanish wookieepedia 23/02/06 and 6/02/06 and, while I was doing so, I took care to confirm that everything in the English version was verifiable. Similarly, I recently talked with people in the IRC about certain details on Even Piell articles ("Do you know something I don't, or I'm right when I say that this datum is wrong?") which led to modifications and editions performed by the person interested in the article - thou I decided not to add that article. For Myo: 22/04/2007 included biography information taken mostly from Alliance Intelligence Reports, 9/05/2007 included revision and modification of some parts, 6/09/2007 included personality section and sourcing. Although additions were performed before there was any intention to GA the article, they are still there. For Qaal Tavier Catharius: 23/04/07: I created the article, and not as a stub. I like to believe that is enough to consider it a collaboration. For Rokarn Vth'naar: 14/11/07: I created the article; again, not as a stub, although this article is less For H'nemthe: 23/05/2008, I helped by providing useful quotes, two of which were used in the current version - even thou I did not add the quotes myself, as I thought such a direct interference with the edition would be rude. and this is why I think I've helped with those articles. Greetings, --Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:38, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Greetings again. Please, excuse the delay in my answer. I know it is an excuse at best but, as you have probably seen in my User Page, I was (and am) on Wookieevacation, with only occassional collaborations to the Wookieepedia. Let me analyse the current points both you and AdmirableAckbar have provided, because, unfortunately, I disagree with some or most of them.
- The first thing I have done when this thread began was looking for rules on the Wookieepedia userboxes. I am currently still looking for them. Due to my own research incompetence, or otherwise because of the non-existence of said laws beyond a mere de facto standard, I have not found any written guide on their use. Due to this, I understood (and still understand) that the only code was "no lies": If I said I "helped promote Myo to Featured status", then it only means that Myo is a FA and that I worked on that article before it became a FA - adding one importante sentence or nine paragraphs, or sourcing it, or whatever.
- Now, people who promoted the article might, or not, be familiar with my name. I personally like to add any article I work on to my watchlist, so I can keep a track on the changes. However, as I see it, the collaborative nature of a Wiki discourage the personal owning of an article. A Wiki is about people improving the work of other people. If I create, say, Valara Saar, and later some other Wookieepedian takes the article and heavily edits it, then I should not say that they are disturbing my ouvre, because when I created the article, I had to accept any further change provided by others (obviously except vandalism and other specifically unacceptable forms of edition). If the edition includes new paragraph with information from a different source, or insight on the present information, welcome be it! If it is only rewording the text to provide a better reading, or sourcing it, or wookieefying it, then it is also good. If some requested (or unrequested) hard-to-find multimedia is added, then they are covering an important area. Anyway, further editions improve the article, and the fact that I've worked on an article does not mean that I own it: Only that, at some point in the past, I worked on it. Anyone can see it if they look the History of the article.
- You also said that the adding of a quote for the H'nemthe was not "a big deal. I simply forgot to add them, and have access to the sources (...)". I do not doubt it, but you did not add them. They were specifically requested in the FA Nomination page, and I provided some of them for you (or any other Wookieepedian) to choose. If I find some obscure datum on Airen Cracken, then go to Cracken's article and find that it's already added, then I did not add it - even if I have the source. In fact, that looks like something you are reproaching me. A quote is not exactly needed for a FA, nor is a picture - but, if added, then it becomes a part of the article. I understand it's not "big deal", but it exists by itself.
- Let me diggress with the "five-paragraph" theory of AdmirableAckbar (which, in fact, would only apply to FA and be far beyond the boundaries of many GA's). I personally consider that an important collaboration could be, specifically:
- The addition of a lot of text (even if it is later reworded, but not if it is removed as fanon, obviously). And please forgive me for using fuzzy terms such as "a lot of", but the text in five paragraphs is no different that the text in one paragraph with carriage returns after each sentence.
- The addition of a little amount of text, only if it makes reference to little-know information which was not covered in the article (example: The meaning of P. in P. Essex Yerac).
- Much-needed sourcing of the article and other Wookieefying of it.
- Addition of multimedia, specially if it is requested and/or difficult to find, even if the added file might be later replaced by a better version of it.
- Properly dealing with any specific objection and/or properly dealing with any of the 18 specific points a FA must deal with, as specified in Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations.
- Sometimes, the collaboration might be not in the FA page itself, but in another person's Talk Page, in the IRC or even using personal e-mail, improving the collaboration nature of the 'pedia, allowing the main promoter of the article to centralise the progress, and also allowing the other Wookieepedians to ask any doubt: Q: "I have this proof that XXX is XXX, while in the page you say otherwise. Do you know something I don't?" A: "No, you're right, thanks for the info, I'll edit the page".
- Any collaboration must take place before the article becomes a FA, but not neccessarily after its nomination. As such, the creation of an article is an important part of it, unless it is created as a stub.
- And this is what I, intuitively, consider the unwritten rules of the userboxes, which I tried to follow when adding them. I understand you think otherwise, mostly that an article is nominated, improved and "heavily edited" by a single person (such as you did for H'nemthe), and that single person is the only one who should add (if wanted) the box about this article. Believe me, that code was exactly what I was looking for before I added the boxes and after you asked their removal.
- If this is the real consensus of the Wookieepedia (and I insist, I disagree with that would-be statute), then I personally think that it should be written somewhere in the Wookieepedia rules or, if it is written, it should be moved to some other place to make it easier to find. If it is not written, I would like to propose "ruling the FA boxes" for the order of the day of the next Mofference.
- Do not misunderstand this. I am ready to remove the userboxes, even if I disagree with the ruling, opinion and/or veredict of the Admins. In fact, I will probably remove more parts of the Talk Page that might potentially be considered offensive to some other people, and I will refrain from making further additions that might become polemic even if I cannot find anything suggesting them to be so. I only want to be sure whether I broke a written rule or the spirit of a non-written one.
- Thank you very much for your time and attention,
--Skippy Farlstendoiro 07:10, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know you replied. Honestly, I don't think it's too big a deal, once no-one's outright lying about helping FA something (which isn't the case here - just two interpretations of the system). There aren't any rules per se on when to use the box, and the text in it is probably somewhat misleading. But unwritten rules and general precedent show that it's meant to be used only when significant work is done ("significant" obviously depends on the length of the article). To me, and probably most others involved in the FA process, significant means writing the thing or being part of a co-project which wrote it. While the work you've done to these articles is greatly appreciated, I wouldn't call it "significant" in the grand scheme of things. Articles don't become FAs, they're made FAs by people, if that makes sense, and the box is for those who made a particular article an FA. If everyone whose name is in the history adds the userbox to his page, the whole point of it is somewhat lost. Some Inquisitors, such as say Toprawa and Ralltiir, read through nearly every FA nom and give it a proper copyedit, which usually takes at least half an hour for a short article. If Tope added the box for each of these articles, he'd have hundreds of userboxes eventually without having actually written the articles. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 14:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Chack,
I couldn't help but notice that you've scheduled to "kill" Harrar's Featured Article status. I'd do so as soon as possible—I sincerely doubt I'm going to be able to ever write a comprehensive version of the article, and so it looks like it's going to stay the way it is. I'd appreciate it if you could specify with a better link than he provided and add whatever relevant information to the History section. Thanks :) Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:31, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Jorj
Hey, I also noticed that Jorj Car'das has an entry in the new Scum and Villainy sourcebook. I've added it to the Source list. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:32, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
