Wookieepedia > Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius > Inq/Meeting Twenty
- "Most intransigent of them all were the officers of the Inquisitorius. Charged with rooting out all that smacked of the old ways during the Great Purge, they had long since outlived any usefulness…they were unaware of their unpopularity."
- ―Mr. Voren Na'al
There will be an Inq meeting on Sunday, 7th September at midnight UTC.
Agenda
Articles which are lacking in some way
- These guys, probed from the last meeting.
- Winter Celchu—unsourced infobox and unsourced info in "Early life." Presentation issues with lots of massive images. No mention of her working with Dendo frequently around the time of Endor, and no mention of Dendo in the Tatooine section. Some issues with "The Tatooine affair" - parts of it read as a summary of the comic itself, not of Winter's role in it. "Masquerade" part could be expanded and there is apparently some issues with clarity. "Dark Empire" info needs to be expanded majorly - the text doesn't even mention the Dark Jedi attack pictured. "Destiny's Way" info needs an expansion, and possibly "The Unifying Force" too.
- Sabé—bunch of appearances not referenced, and I'm fairly sure at least one contains new info.
- Well, I've added information from one of the sources...but for me to be able to do anything, I need some more specifics. Thefourdotelipsis 01:59, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Gaeriel Captison—needs expansion, and may lack info from Truce at Bakura Sourcebook.
- Expanded and chock full of Sourcebook data now. Atarumaster88

Atha Prime—still no P&T. The whole reason it wasn't probed was because it was expected to be fixed in a matter of days, but obviously that hasn't happened.- My forgot. Arbitrary P&T is now present. Thefourdotelipsis 23:52, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Ephant Mon—this was my first FA, and while there isn't anything horribly wrong with it, the level of detail and quality of writing leaves something to be desired. I plan to redo it in the coming months, and it would be better if I could go through the usual review process.
Keyan Farlander—Could use a better intro, as well as infobox refs.- Expanded the intro and sourced the infobox. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:35, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- P&T needs to be sourced. Chack Jadson (Talk) 11:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Damn pre-Inq articles. Fixed. Green Tentacle (Talk) 20:33, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- P&T needs to be sourced. Chack Jadson (Talk) 11:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Expanded the intro and sourced the infobox. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:35, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Battle of Borleias (Yuuzhan Vong War; Second)—Infobox refs are needed.- Easy fix. Atarumaster88
(Talk page) 19:09, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- A few paragraphs are missing sources. Chack Jadson (Talk) 00:41, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not anymore. Atarumaster88

- Easy fix. Atarumaster88
- Knights of the Old Republic (comics)—needs some major updating. I asked Sikon in IRC if he had any intention of updating it, and he said he hasn't, so someone will probably need to foster it if it's to stay.
Other items of discussion
- Not reading the full article—during a recent Inq discussion about something different, I mentioned that I had once neglected to read a Legacy section due to spoilers but supported the article, and this wasn't met with much enthusiasm by some Inqs. At the time I voted I didn't give it much thought, but we should decide if that sort of thing is kosher. Note: this isn't about dividing up a long article between Inqs or anything of the sort. This would only be three paragraphs or so maximum.
- Our old FAs—encouraging 'FA machines' to go back and fix up their old FAs, sourcing infoboxes and succession boxes and the like. Most Inqs and prolific FA writers who've been around a while will have a couple of older FAs that, while they might qualify for probation, have a few minor issues that could easily be taken care of.
- Inactive Inqs—I propose that emails be sent to inactive Inqs (from carefully selected people in the Inq) asking them about their continued involvement and if it's a priority to them, and if they want to keep their posts. This isn't about kicking anyone out, merely talking to people.
- De-GAing articles This was mentioned at the Mofference, and I was wondering if we could talk a little about it here, get it straightened out and make it a bit more formal. I know I'm willing to read GAs and determine if they should be stripped or kept. Chack Jadson (Talk) 15:47, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- I wholly support GA reform. And while I believe ultimately this should come down to a site-wide discussion of what may be enacted, I would like the Inq to discuss what role they may have in the execution of this reform. And yes, as ugly as it may sound, I am talking about expanding our role beyond the FAN page. Some Inqs may not appreciate the extra responsibility, but I know others, like myself and Chack, would be more than willing to take on a little more leg work. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:08, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I have some thoughts on this; one of which just might be something along the lines of an "Inq-training program" for prospective Inqs in addition to Inq volunteers. I'm all for GA reform, but I'll talk about it at the meeting if I can make it and then put it into a CT, since that will probably be the best place for this. Master Aban Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 02:05, 2 September 2008 (UTC)- After discussing some things with other Inqs, my comments have been rendered unnecessary. Master Aban Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 21:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

- The P&T discussion—this isn't about changing the P&T rule itself, at least not now. But having read over the Mofference discussion on that, I have some very serious concerns on what people think the point of FA rules is for. I also have some thoughts on what I see as very little faith being shown in the ability of Inqs to determine if a particular rule should be applied. I should be able to make it to this meeting, and if so I'll have a statement or so on this, since I think it warrants discussion. - Lord Hydronium 21:48, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Because people were unclear about this in IRC, I want to make clear: I'm not trying to overturn the P&T discussion from the mofference. This is about the discussion and concerns it raised. - Lord Hydronium 22:08, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Kicking up the number of "opposed" needed to prevent an article from being de-FA'd/placed on probation. Currently, 5 is the required quorum, with less than two opposed. I'd like to see perhaps a slight bump up to "less than 3 opposed". Since this clause rarely comes into play, I don't think it'll be that big of a deal. The original limit has been in play since our inception, when we had less than 10 members. Atarumaster88

Comments from absentee members
- From Graestan in the Dells:
- I lend my votes to Toprawa on the probes/kills.
- Not reading the full article: … If you vote, you support the whole damn article. It's your reputation on the line; if you want to be taken seriously, consider what an Inqvote is actually worth.
- Fixing up old FAs: I don't think this should be compulsory, but I do think that so long after the Toprawa Report circulated, if the work still isn't done, placing such articles on probation is more than fair.
- Absentee Inqs: Meh/blarg. We've been operating without these people's regular input so long, I don't care unless they show up and try to vote at meetings, at which point I'd be likely to give them what for.
- De-GAing process: Volunteers are more than welcome, but with less than half the Inq regularly active at any given time, I can't see compulsory service as a realistic outcome. I'd certainly keep an eye out for sloppy GAs—as Fourdot stated: "a used car yard."
- P&T Discussion: We voted on changing the rule at the Mofference, and the result was a resounding no. I don't really need a personal opinion on this issue anymore because the public opinion is quite obvious.

- From the Desk of Atarumaster88
- On all articles already placed on probation, I give my vote to Chack.
- Probation for Winter, KotOR comics. Keep Gaeriel—I did a bunch of work on that, and I think it's good now. Abstain on the other two.
- Read the full article = duh, of course.
- Old FAs: If it's a minor thing, leave a note on the author's talk page. Or the article's talk page. If it's major, put it up for probation. If it's one of mine, let me know and I'll fix it, per my efforts on 2BatBrlasYVW and Gaeri.
- Absentee Inqs: Epic meh. We've heard this a bazillion times and already come to the conclusion that not everyone has to be active all the time. I think we said six months, or three months of inactivity last time. Just stick with that.
- GA Discussion: I've heard two of GT's proposals regarding a prominent link, and a couple new requirements. I'm in favor of both of those. Tope and Fiolli haven't provided specifics on their proposal, so I can't say, honestly. I think more GA purview is a good idea, but I say that cautiously—quality, yes, but we want GA to be a training ground, a sort of "FA lite" for people to get used to the rigors of the FA process. We also don't want to take over the GAN page like we have with FAN—the community needs to be involved, much more so than FA, because we don't show off GAs as much, and for the training ground reasoning. Also, I will not have time or interest in regularly patrolling GAN.
- P&T: Per obvious consensus, keep it as is. And, just to head off a possible line of reasoning, by and large, if a topic lacks the necessary amount of information to merit subsidiary sections such as biology, culture, personality and traits, geography, etc. then it probably doesn't deserve to be an FA. I'd like to think we only feature topics that have enough substance to interest the casual reader, and not just cram in more and more topics just for the sake of having a higher FA count.
- Obviously, I support the minor vote-count balance fix I proposed.
- Have fun. Atarumaster88

- Battle of Coruscant (Clone Wars — Kept.
- Battle of Nar Shaddaa — Removed.
- Ebon Hawk — Kept, but the BtS needs some formatting changes and the "Layout" should go before "History."
- Winter Celchu — Probed.
- Sabé — Kept, but 4dot will look into the possibility of new info from the TPM game.
- Gaeriel Captison — Probed. Still needs some added detail on early TaB and possibly more expansion all over; Cull will post more specific objections soon.

- Knights of the Old Republic (comics) — Probed.
Items discussed
- Not reading the full article — it has been decided that this is not allowed and very much discouraged.
- Old FAs — it has been decided that users cleaning up their old FAs is a good thing.
- Inactive Inqs — it has been decided that sending emails to inactive Inquisitors asking about their status/plans in terms of the Inquisitorius is okay.
- De-GAing articles — the Inquisitorius supports a new proposal made by Ackbar and Toprawa to change the GA system to ensure higher quality and integrity while still keeping the community involvement. However, it has been decided that this is a site-wide matter and should be taken to CT; one will be made in the coming days. The Inquisitorius also supported a measure to add a "random GA/FA" link to the main page, which will be implemented by the administration post haste.
- P&T discussion — most Inquisitors seem to be open to the idea of an exception to the rule, though nothing will be done until that exception makes itself known. Discussion may be brought back up in a number of months.
- Number of oppose votes — this was shot down, on the basis of there not being enough Inqs present at meetings to warrant it.
- Jedimasterfiolli has resigned from the Inquisitorius.
