"Who wants to fight in a place like this?"
―Shogun[1]

An astronomical object with snowy, mountainous terrain served as the site of a secret hot spring on the mountain Mount Hakamori. When the former Sith known as the Ronin crossed a gap on the mountain, he was attacked by a group of bandits attempting to steal his astromech droid R5-D56. However, the Ronin and R5-D56 killed all but one of the bandits. At night, the Ronin met the Jedi known as Shogun while bathing in the spring. They drank sake together and discussed their experiences in the Sith rebellion and Shogun's search for the Temple of Elujoji. In the morning, they left the hot spring, and the Ronin asked if Shogun intended to kill him. The Ronin then had a vision of himself being defeated by Shogun in a duel, after which Shogun told the Ronin he did not plan to kill him. They then separated and walked in opposite directions.

Description

A terrestrial astronomical object had snowy, mountainous terrain and a[1] Type I[2] atmosphere breathable by multiple species. Trees grew in the mountains. It had at least one sun, and at least three other celestial bodies of various sizes were visible in the sky.[1]

History

"Well, now. Nice to see someone here. How did you come to know a secret hot spring like this?"
―Shogun, to the Ronin[1]
Bandits attacking the Ronin

Bandits attacking the Ronin

At one point,[1] the former Sith[4] known as the Ronin and his astromech droid[1] R5-D56[5] used the leg of a fallen All Terrain Armored Transport as a bridge to cross a gap on[1] Mount Hakamori[3] while it was snowing. A group of bandits blocked their path on both sides and attempted to steal the droid while threatening the Ronin. The confrontation was witnessed from afar by the Jedi known as Shogun and their astromech droid, who both left the area to avoid being struck by a stray blaster bolt. The leader of the bandits ordered them to attack the Ronin, but he deflected their blaster bolts with his lightsaber, and R5-D56 fired missiles at them, resulting in all but one being killed.[1]

By that night, the snow had stopped, and the Ronin and R5-D56 bathed in a secret hot spring in the mountains. Shogun and their droid later approached them and joined them in the spring, with Shogun being pleasantly surprised to see someone else at the spring. The Ronin shared his sake with Shogun, and as they drank, Shogun told the Ronin the spring was said to have been made to heal the battle wounds of Jedi knights. The two then discussed their experiences fighting in[1] the Sith rebellion, a war between the Jedi clans and the Sith[4] that had been fought years earlier.[6] Shogun then mentioned they were searching for the Temple of Elujoji, and the Ronin told them what he knew of it, though he did not know how to find it. Meanwhile, R5-D56 gambled with a group of Ewoks. Shogun told the Ronin they would have liked to take him to a nearby casino, but that it was closed due to a hassle.[1]

In the morning, the Ronin, Shogun, and their droids left the hot spring and walked together for a distance. Shogun offered to buy the Ronin a drink at a station below, but the Ronin declined, stating someone was picking him up. When they arrived at an area with numerous small snow-covered statues and sticks stuck into the ground, the two began to head in different directions. However, the Ronin stopped and asked if Shogun had forgotten to kill him, revealing he was aware Shogun was a Jedi. The Ronin then had a vision of himself being quickly defeated in a duel by Shogun. When it ended, Shogun told him they had forgotten nothing and walked away without attacking. The Ronin and R5-D56 then continued in the opposite direction.[1]

Inhabitants

"Okay! So you think you're tough?! Can't you see all my people here?!"
―The leader of the bandits, to the Ronin[1]

A group of bandits, among which were multiple humans, operated on the astronomical object, and a group of Ewoks were present at a hot spring on it.[1]

Locations

"Why not go for another drink at the station below? It's on me."
―Shogun, to the Ronin[1]
The secret hot spring

The secret hot spring

The mountain Mount Hakamori was located on the astronomical object.[3] At one location on the mountain, an AT-AT formed a bridge across a gap. A secret hot spring was also located on the mountain. The spring was divided into two sections, one of which was used by the humans Shogun and the Ronin, and one of which was used by their droids. Two smaller structures as well as several poles with red lights were located near the spring. A casino was located on the other side of the mountain from the hot spring, and a station where drinks could be purchased was located below it. Another location on Mount Hakamori had a tree, stacks of stones, a tattered flag, small statues, and sticks stuck into the ground.[1]

Behind the scenes

The astronomical object appeared in the non-canon one-shot comic Visions 1, written and illustrated by Takashi Okazaki,[1] and published by Marvel Comics on October 12, 2022.[7] Prior to the comic's release, it was first pictured in a StarWars.com article published on June 15 of that year. Concept art of the astronomical object was created by Okazaki and depicted a v-150 Planet Defender[3] ion cannon[8] on it,[3] although one did not appear in the final comic.[1] The art also depicted a sign identifying the mountain in Japanese as 墓守ヶ岳[3] (hakamorigatake), or Mount Hakamori,[9][10][11] which also did not appear in the final comic.[1]
