Tunguray was the homeworld of the Tunguray species, who spoke a language of the same name.[3] The world was located in the Brema sector's Tunguray system, which was in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches.[2] It was situated in grid square M-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
By 382 BBY,[4] the planet, according to the Tunguray Cherro, had more volcanos than habitable land. A Republic Pathfinder team that had been charting hyperspace lanes near Sullust,[3] the Outer Rim homeworld of the Sullustans,[5] therefore evacuated the remaining Tunguray via shuttle and gave them refuge on the planet Coruscant.[3]
Behind the scenes
Tunguray was first mentioned in the 2022 novel Convergence, written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[3]
